- doctechnical, on 09/16/2009, -0/+38"The most likely reason [the Templars were dissolved] is that the king wanted their money. The King of France was bankrupt, and the Templars had lots of ready cash."
Overall, true enough (the fact that they were gaining a lot of political clout didn't help them either), but "dissolved" isn't quite the word I'd used. Do some research on why Friday the 13th is considered unlucky. The head of their order was burnt at the stake, for crying out loud!
And the article itself said the Masons were the largest secret society in the world. How do they know? If a society were REALLY secret, you wouldn't have heard of them, would you?
[makes strange hand gesture, leaves] - RachelJTM, on 09/15/2009, -5/+28oh dan brown!!! when will people learn his writing is not complete truth!
- ChrisYager, on 09/16/2009, -0/+21The Freemasons are old news
Its all about the Bilderberg's baby!
Also, yeah, was definitely hoping for a Lost article when I clicked... - Strongwings, on 09/16/2009, -0/+20Written by a Freemason.
- ylikone, on 09/16/2009, -7/+26"FREEMASON MYTH 4 - Washington, D.C.'s Streets Form Giant Masonic Symbols"
Ummm, but they do form obviously intentional symbols which do look like masonic symbols (pentagram, square & compass, triple tau). Are we supposed to believe it's just coincidence? VERY unlikely. - kingofinternet, on 09/16/2009, -7/+24i'm a freemason, and we're working with the illuminati and jewish banking syndicate to push through obama's socialist collectivist health care agenda and enslavement of white republicans.
but some americans know too much... they will be punished for their patriotism and strong moral fiber. see you at the death panel! - MacBookForMe, on 09/15/2009, -0/+14all this just creates an additional fog for even better cover up...(still, I love Dan Brown)
- thephosphorbox, on 09/16/2009, -2/+15We've identified the seventh symbol! Activate the Stargate!
- AgentRoyIV, on 09/16/2009, -7/+19When people find out I'm a Freemason they always have weird questions and their own horrifically-wrong ideas about the group. Truth be told it's just another fraternal orginization with excellent humanitarian values.
- borez, on 09/16/2009, -6/+17As somebody who's had a lifelong fascination with The Knights Templar and the Freemason, I call ***** on the no link between the two groups suggestion.
Put in simple terms: The Knights Templar return from the crusades and are persecuted left right and centre by various religious sects etc. so they go into hiding ( as you would, ) disappearing into society to avoid being wiped out. They become gentry, men of law, men of government and power and politics, but they shun their previous links.
Then they disappear ( go dark ) for 300 odd years, only to return, not as Templar, but as Masons. Who are, coincidentally, gentry, men of law, men of government and power and politics.
You can still see the links in the City of London for crying out loud. And anybody who doesn't think that the Masons have major influence over the world we live in today, quite frankly, needs to do a little bit more research. Period.
The two groups use the same symbols.
And FTR: Dan Brown's books are fictional nonsense, based around a (very) lose truth. - glaz, on 09/16/2009, -6/+16I know tons of masons and they don't do ***** but work regular jobs and drink.
- acid_jazz, on 09/16/2009, -2/+12Who controls the British Crown?
Who keeps the metric system down?
We do, we do.
Who keeps Atlantis off the maps?
Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
We do, we do.
Who holds back the electric car?
Who makes Steve Guttenberg a star?
We do, we do.
Who robs cave fish of their sight?
Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do, we do! - RudeTurnip, on 09/16/2009, -0/+10I will chuckle if Steve Gutenberg stars in the film adaptation.
- shutaro, on 09/16/2009, -2/+11Good point... Worst. Secret society. Ever.
[dons tinfoil hat, leaves] - Xzelick, on 09/16/2009, -0/+9Yea seriously, it's not like he's going to say "you got us! all these conspiracies are right!", he said exactly what you would expect a person hiding the truth would say.
- booyahbitch, on 09/16/2009, -4/+13How is that political? To me that indicates that RealmDown believes that Fox News is not really news, not that they have any political affiliation. Sounds like YOU are the one who brought politics into the fray.
- borez, on 09/16/2009, -5/+13Depends how far you are up the ladder really.
- phoomp, on 09/16/2009, -2/+10If the Freemasons *do* secretly control our world's political and economic structures, this is *exactly* what they'd say to continue keeping it a secret.
- inactive, on 09/16/2009, -0/+8It's a trap.
- terminal157, on 09/16/2009, -0/+7You WOULD say that.
/DUN-DUN-DUUUUN - jgrossma, on 09/16/2009, -0/+6dugg for the Stonecutters reference
- BrapAllgood, on 09/16/2009, -1/+7http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&source=h ...
When one understands the significance of the symbols, it is obviously no coincidence. - terminal157, on 09/16/2009, -0/+6And you've gained some kind of patriarchy over the internet as well! You fiend!
- d03boy, on 09/16/2009, -0/+6I read it because its fun
- shadowspawn, on 09/16/2009, -3/+8My grandpop was a Freemason, from what I understood of it, it's kinda like boy scouts, just instead of camping and fishing and earning badges you just helped out society and your badges/patches were the good feelings that you did something right.. it's always duly noted when you did something that contributed back to the neighborhood/city or the group; there was some sort of hierarchy, yet it was more of a brotherhood, and yes when they got drunk (which was rare) they all got rip-roaring drunk. It wasn't like a VFW lodge either. Plus you always knew who would help you out or ask you for help. But you could get kicked out for being an ass or a "bad" person.
- Eupatorus, on 09/15/2009, -0/+5Yeah, totally.
- chadsexingtime, on 09/16/2009, -0/+5I like how Dan Brown takes elements that exist and attribute falsehoods to them, interweaving the truth and lies into one great big book.
I like how it makes me want to light the book on fire and throw it through his window. - IgorUnchained, on 09/16/2009, -0/+5we made him a star
- RealmDown, on 09/16/2009, -12/+16Probably about the same time the "News" suffix is removed from Fox.
- Snarfy, on 09/16/2009, -0/+4It's the Jewish Kabbalah (Tree of Life).
http://www.geocities.com/jussaymoe/dc_symbolism/in ...
http://dcsymbols.com/TOL/tree.htm - themastersb, on 09/16/2009, -0/+4I think they could still use it. It would be Fox Entertainment News or Fox News Entertainment.
- doctechnical, on 09/16/2009, -0/+414 of the 44 Presidents of the United States have been Masons. That's 32%.
[winks knowingly] - ylikone, on 09/16/2009, -1/+5Shriners with their crazy hats, curly-toed shoes and noisy pipe and percussion instruments scare the crap out of me.
- Opiate, on 09/16/2009, -1/+4Like most societies they have a deep hierarchy, the lowers that do the good deeds for the good name aren't the ones running the show. That being said George Sr. suppose to be a 33rd, gotta represent that lineage.
- everyunitone, on 09/16/2009, -2/+5Shadowspawn hit the nail on the head.
I was invited to a local Masonic dinner, I went out of interest. Kinda hoped to see some mad conspiracy forming stuff, but ended up leaving at the end of a pleasant enough evening just thinking "this is boy scouts". It's all about honours and rules and procedures.. good if your into that stuff, but not for me. - aoctavio, on 09/16/2009, -1/+4That's the kind of article a freemason trying to hide something would have written...
- d03boy, on 09/16/2009, -0/+3maybe they're not free
- vbullinger, on 09/16/2009, -0/+3That's why you have to keep it compartmentalized.
With each level of Freemasonry (there are thirty three degrees), you "learn" new things. You are told some truths and some new lies to make up for the ones they finally come clean about. At the thirtieth degree, they give you a book called "Morals and Dogmas," which you are never to share by threat of death (and that's a serious threat).
Google "Morals and Dogmas," by Albert Pike and read all about it. One of the overriding sentiments in the book is that they finally admit that they've been lying to you all along so that you don't understand what Freemasonry is all about. And they justify it and say that it's the right thing. They also start telling you the truth about it.
Albert Pike was a 33rd degree Freemason that reigned over all Freemasons in North America in the 1800s. He was an admitted Satan worshipper and he helped start the Klu Klux Klan. Nice fella, huh?
BTW, there's a bust of Albert Pike in Washington, D.C. Yep, the dude that helped start the KKK has a bust in D.C. Great job, guys. - vbullinger, on 09/16/2009, -0/+3Also, the symbolism used by today's elitist groups are the exact same as the Freemason/Templar symbols.
Isn't it amazing that the Council on Foreign Relations' symbol is EXACTLY the same as the Knights Templar's symbol?
"There are no coincidences, only the illusion of coincidences." - Morpheus - Elranzer, on 09/16/2009, -0/+3Google Books link for "Morals and Dogma" by Albert Pike (it's public domain now):
http://www.google.com/books?id=QWGHOHr7yvYC&pr ... - vbullinger, on 09/16/2009, -2/+5I have a couple of distant family members that are Masons and they're evil. Hardcore. They're politicians, judges, lawyers and professors at corrupt universities.
Maybe you just don't know them very well. - pintocat, on 09/16/2009, -0/+3If someone says they're 33rd degree, they're probably full of *****. Most Scottish Rite Masons are 32nd degree.
Everyone likes to inflate their grandfather's status. "I think he was a Grand Master." No... he was a Worshipful Master. A Worshipful Master is to a Grand Master as a mayor is to a governor. - Mindstormy, on 09/16/2009, -0/+3This is completely unfair to us lost fans, who are DIEING to see more of the show, buried for ruining my lost anticipation mojo
- pintocat, on 09/16/2009, -0/+3Bilderberg has a baby?
- borez, on 09/16/2009, -0/+3There are a load of World wide corporation and organisations with masonic and Templar references in their logos.
I'm not one for coincidence like that. - anklebiter, on 09/16/2009, -2/+4That's pretty much it, in a nutshell. U.S. Masons attend a local lodge that is affiliated with their state's Grand lodge. It's Boy Scouts for adults, minus the camping and plus community service. There are sister organizations for women (Order of the Eastern Star, actually men can be members too) and minor children (forget the names, there are a couple of 'em). I'm amazed how many people don't know that the Shriners are part of Freemasonry.
- AmusedToDeath, on 09/17/2009, -0/+2@jahru77: Yes there is in fact a 33rd degree. There are also two different "rites" of freemasonry, York and Scottish. One of them is religious, the other secular.
- christoast, on 09/16/2009, -0/+2I liked to pretend stuff like the da vinci code was real because its fun and inspires a type of imagination-euphoria. It's just like the Blair witch. I just keep "Its not real" in the back of my mind for sanity insurance.
- vbullinger, on 09/16/2009, -0/+2Most are like that, yes. Freemasons, do actually control important aspects of society.
