- gyrfalcon, on 05/12/2008, -32/+16Graffiti is not art, it's defacement and a crime... generally done by gangs.
- Mononuclear, on 05/12/2008, -7/+22What if it's done legally and on display at an art gallery? Graffiti isn't always illegal and is art whether it is illegal or not. Who are you to decide what is art and what's not?
- gyrfalcon, on 05/13/2008, -6/+2It's not graffiti if it's done legally dumb ass... Graffiti is defacement of others property.
- Akaji, on 05/13/2008, -1/+4@gyrfalcon
Get a dictionary, 'dumb ass'. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=graffiti - charlie55, on 05/13/2008, -3/+2he is exactly as qualified as you. if that dude doesnt think it is art, then it isnt. art is subjective.
- LeeSoong, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1A neighbor's kid went down the street spay painting all the parked cars, causing several tens of thousands of dollars in damages to dozens of cars, all in a matter of a few minutes...
Is that art ? Or Justifiable Homicide?
- Serok, on 05/12/2008, -2/+24Most graffiti is NOT done by gangs. I have known many graffiti artists and not one of them were affiliated with a gang. Gang graffiti gives graffiti artists a bad name.
- jbenson2, on 05/12/2008, -6/+7Most graffiti IS done by gangs. I have known many graffiti artists and all of them were affiliated with a gang. Gang graffiti and graffiti artists give art a bad name.
- Phyltre, on 05/13/2008, -0/+4Most artists ARE gangs. I have known many artists and all of them were affiliated with gangs. Art gives gangs, artist gangs, art, graffiti art, graffiti gangs, and gang-art graffiti a bad name.
- VinceNoir, on 05/13/2008, -0/+1I doubt the veracity of your claims Mr. Benson. You're too much of a white boy to have known gang members. You're apparently solid middle class with no background in poverty. You know all the hidden middle class rules as evidenced by your posting history. You, however have never been involved in generational poverty. Therefore your claim is worthless. It's mere posturing to try and bolster your sad and pathetic ideals.
- Dystisis, on 05/13/2008, -0/+0Most gangs ARE art. I have known many gangs and all of them have been affiliated with art. Gangs give art, paintings, sculpture modeling, musicians and drawing a bad name.
- LeeSoong, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1Most guys named Art join gangs. I have known many people named Art and they all are affiliated with one gang or another. Gangs love Arts, Arts love gangs.
Art gangs give guys named Author a bad name.

- Nhmarine, on 05/12/2008, -16/+8Dead guys as art... didn't the cigarette protestors do that already? I like that there is the message "peace, love" next to a guy who has a knife in his back.... Is the dead guy a puppet or a dead guy?
- DarrylWatts, on 05/13/2008, -0/+1its not really a dead guy....its stuffed....to make a statement.

- RogerStrong, on 05/12/2008, -30/+8If he had permission to paint there, this is bad. If he didn't, well, one tagger down and lots to go.
- DarrylWatts, on 05/13/2008, -1/+3art is awesome!
- RogerStrong, on 05/13/2008, -3/+2Sure, but only the owner of the building has the right to paint or decorate the building as he prefers.
99% of graffiti is crap. (Before you complain, I'm a big fan of science fiction, and 99% of that's crap too.) Talentless submorons with spray cans around here cover everything with it, including people's vehicles, without asking.
If the guy in the picture had permission, fine. If not, and he wants to use the "art" defence, then we can laud what happenned to him as a fine piece of performance art. Encore!- casek, on 05/13/2008, -1/+2it's a damn art installation. you're an idiot.
- RogerStrong, on 05/13/2008, -0/+1So it's not supposed to provoke discussion about graffiti, about what the scene portrays.?

- justdanne, on 05/13/2008, -0/+0Acually this was done on a legal wall. I know this because i live in Malmo, were this painting is from. It seems this was pretty newly done so i will check out this irl tomorrow. I have seen a lot of stuff from the actuall painters and they are really taleneted how can you say they are not?.

- RcHer, on 05/12/2008, -3/+2I wanted people to digg me down so they wouldn't see my ***** comment.
- hiro, on 05/12/2008, -3/+1You're being dugg down not because you didn't notice the mirror, but because we're sick of ***** thinking that the number of diggs is somehow related to the number of views. I looked at it, thought it was ***** and hit bury!
- XHashmeerX, on 05/12/2008, -4/+3Sorry. Your tricks will not work this time.

- djdementia, on 05/12/2008, -24/+10graffiti = modern version of pissing on a tree to mark your territory, go go Neanderthals!
I'd buy whoever stabbed this f.tard a drink!- isiz, on 05/12/2008, -1/+6Wrong.
- noeljohnhoward, on 05/12/2008, -3/+1sometimes wrong
- Jeffler, on 05/12/2008, -3/+2I'd agree if you weren't a moron. Some graffiti like useless tagging is stupid, but lots can be street art which is very much appreciated.
- urgeigh, on 05/12/2008, -0/+3I think it's beautiful. Not all graffiti is done illegally. Especially the good stuff. Yes, let's kill people because you don't like their Art. Fascist. Not to mention this was obviously intentional and no one actually got stabbed.
- isiz, on 05/12/2008, -0/+4Graffiti would be practically non-existant without tagging.
- DarrylWatts, on 05/13/2008, -0/+3gang tags can be compared to pissing on a tree....gangs are inferior....but master-pieces like this are brilliant pieces of art.
Eliminate your ignorance and educate yourself on art....then maybe you will be able to correctly label things...
- isiz, on 05/12/2008, -1/+6Wrong.
- senselessending, on 05/12/2008, -10/+2n/m...
- russTtraumbowen, on 05/12/2008, -16/+3pretty sick...def inspired by banksy (but who isn't)? perhaps more accurate would be to give the nod to the guy who inspired banksy: Blek le Rat.

http://bayimg.com/PAjbpaABK - mehan, on 05/12/2008, -18/+7the last graffiti "artist"?
..we can only hope.- k1down, on 05/12/2008, -2/+2wtf is that supposed to mean?
- DarrylWatts, on 05/13/2008, -0/+2why dont you just come out and say it.....you hate gang tags...but love art like this....you know you want to =)
- mikeazorin, on 05/12/2008, -10/+3Keep drinking your lattes and wearing your expensive jeans, real graffiti writers have so much more culture than silly street art.
- fluxion, on 05/12/2008, -2/+2because only elitists and hipsters dont see the value in tagging up the side of someone's business
- Melun91, on 05/12/2008, -13/+4Would be amazing if the person was part of the graffiti.
- heynoop, on 05/12/2008, -3/+7look how stupid you are.
- DiscoLando, on 05/12/2008, -13/+3The Last Graffiti artist 503'ed? How fitting.
- ehudokai, on 05/12/2008, -9/+89Is everyone missing the obvious. This is a complete art piece. There is no dead guy in the picture. If he was dead there would be a whole lot more blood, and notice the lack of any showing skin. probably a dummy dressed up, but well done.
- punkcat, on 05/12/2008, -3/+6yeah "probably." or is there a chance you are saying he kept spray painting after being stabbed?
- romistrub, on 05/12/2008, -1/+2Well... to be fair, judging by the quality of the piece, spray painting would have probably been his life. I can totally see an artist wanting to "sign" his last piece as he died (the squiggles look like a botched signature).
That being said, it's obvious that the person/dummy is part of the piece. Just look at the other pieces on the site. - ehudokai, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1I think the continued painting as he's "dying" is a part of the artistry...
- romistrub, on 05/12/2008, -1/+2Well... to be fair, judging by the quality of the piece, spray painting would have probably been his life. I can totally see an artist wanting to "sign" his last piece as he died (the squiggles look like a botched signature).
- Gauthic, on 07/09/2008, -3/+2Not to mention an 'artist' would have more than a red can of spray paint near his "pallet " (especially considering the colors of his 'last work').
- punkcat, on 05/12/2008, -3/+6yeah "probably." or is there a chance you are saying he kept spray painting after being stabbed?

- chaeridley, on 05/12/2008, -15/+8Not probably. It is a dummy dressed up.

- Logrusmage, on 05/12/2008, -13/+8Everyone here who thinks that is an actual person is ***** retarded.
- PojkePojke, on 05/12/2008, -3/+2Or, it is an actual person with a fake knife stuck in his back done simply for the photo (which is more likely the case as it wasn't an art installation - I would have seen it and it would have been in the papers).
- drkmccrthy, on 05/12/2008, -10/+4I don't get it.
- frostbyt, on 05/12/2008, -9/+2Why is he sleeping on the sidewalk?
- elhaf, on 05/12/2008, -9/+2Uh, properly translated it would say, "His last graffito", assuming it was gramatically correct in the first place, which it isn't.
- Ricemanstm, on 05/12/2008, -12/+4I'd love to do the same thing to taggers...except with a shot gun. A little Jackson Pollock...
- PojkePojke, on 05/12/2008, -18/+13Hahaha... I was looking at it and recognized something familiar (don't recall the installation) and realized it's the graffiti area just down the street from me. Great place Sweden - Swedes are interesting creatures. Not only would I NOT expect to be stabbed here in Malmo, but they mostly only spray graffiti on that one building and hardly anywhere else. When summer arrives, that building changes skins almost weekly.
- RadiatedAnt, on 05/13/2008, -0/+1burried because the internet hates everyone
- wYpe, on 05/12/2008, -19/+14I'm surprised by all the comments saying graffiti is a crime no matter what. There are legal walls everywhere, and most businesses if asked nicely and if you show them what you are planning to do on the wall they will give you permission to do it. There is a bike store near my house and on the back stretching probably 20 meters there is a graffiti piece that covers the entire backside of the store. It is related to bikes, looks amazing, and keeps other graffiti artists from throwing a tag up on that wall. Tags on doors, windows, and bus stops are places that would be illegal to write on. Other places may not be.
- nick510, on 05/12/2008, -2/+5wouldn't it then be a mural?
- dawnraid101, on 05/13/2008, -0/+1no dip *****, its a legal wall, which has peoples "peices" and "toys" on it. Geez learn the lingo.
