- Hananda, on 02/14/2008, -0/+36I think I speak for humanity in general when I say this: No, no I did not.
- sfacets, on 02/14/2008, -3/+37The Camel would total the car, killing the front passengers.
- guyinjapan, on 02/14/2008, -0/+32Not sure the camel would be in good shape either, mate.
- dotlizard, on 02/14/2008, -5/+35well, the camel can go a lot further on a tankful. or a humpful, whatever you'd call it :)
- crazybugger, on 02/14/2008, -0/+25“You can't say civilization don't advance... in every war they kill you in a new way.”
- itsradBrad, on 02/14/2008, -1/+22Dugg for cameltoes.
- JimmyChooLove, on 02/14/2008, -1/+18Dugg down b/c of Sensationalist title. Since when did camels evolve to have civilizations?
- sroop, on 02/14/2008, -1/+12Telling by the average velocity of the unladen camel, it is European, not African.
/Python - sgtcaboose, on 02/14/2008, -1/+11I think that camels playing chicken....those were the days..*day dreams*
- chewbacca77, on 02/14/2008, -0/+10Well, where the camel comes from, they're supposed to walk on the left side of the road.
- allaboutdatiki, on 02/14/2008, -1/+11It all depends ... is that a Mercedes diesel?
- iticu, on 02/14/2008, -1/+9MrBabyMan is just fulfilling his daily quota.
- glitch13, on 02/14/2008, -2/+9Imminent? Have you been reading the news?
- jmas9, on 02/14/2008, -1/+8Watch out, they spit!
- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -3/+9That just means she doesn't love you.
- nbcaffeine, on 02/14/2008, -0/+5internetS
We built a tube that goes all the way to the middle east - jj101, on 02/14/2008, -0/+5Cause its photosho..."falls asleep out of boredom from hearing that".
I can see the shadow. Its on the left of the camel, going in the same direction as all the other shadows in the picture. Because the road is sloping away from the camera at the point where the camel is, you can see less of the shadow. - zengonzo, on 02/14/2008, -0/+5Illinois camels!
I hate Illinois camels! - GoneGreen, on 02/14/2008, -0/+5The camel will keep going long after the oil fields burn out....
- guyinjapan, on 02/14/2008, -2/+7No, I really, really didn't.
- bob12321, on 02/14/2008, -0/+5There is this little thing called the Internet.
- TheOneTrueGod, on 02/14/2008, -0/+4Even better: Take another camel and they can manufacture a third one!
- Aharoni, on 02/14/2008, -0/+4Poked around the flickr page and it says: HaDarom, IL , so its confirmed.
- MsAntiSunshine, on 02/14/2008, -0/+4It definitely looks like the Negev. The mountains, road, car type...yep. Israel.
I miss seeing wild camels! - inactive, on 02/14/2008, -2/+6Even though I am a member of the military, that headline is slightly racist and/or xenophobic in a very veiled way (no pun intended)
- mal1964, on 02/14/2008, -0/+4Excuse me car , Do you know where I can find the nearest desert ?
- Narishma, on 02/14/2008, -0/+4So is that an English or a Japanese camel ?
- acatzr800, on 02/14/2008, -1/+4Its taking all my will power to not use TWSS
- Ultra99, on 02/14/2008, -1/+4Camel FTW! Seriously, it happens here in Dubai.
- zengonzo, on 02/14/2008, -0/+3'Can I borrow your towel? My car just hit a water buffalo.'
- Aharoni, on 02/14/2008, -0/+3There are always news of drivers hitting camels in the south of Israel (the Negev). Usually these crashes are pretty deadly.
The picture itself also looks like it was taken in the Negev as well, but I may be wrong... - rebelphoenix, on 02/14/2008, -0/+3We can't stop here! This is camel country!
- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -4/+7How is this front page.
Not clever, not cute, and not funny. - azAZ09, on 02/14/2008, -1/+4On the topic of civilization-- Ghandi was once asked by a reporter what he though of western civilization. Ghandi answered "I think it would be a pretty good idea."
- blumer, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2I, for one, believe a human/camel war is long overdue.
... unless the llamas get involved as mercenaries. Then we're screwed. - Lucas123, on 02/14/2008, -1/+3The camel is obviously from Europe, while the car is being driven by an American.
- mrgono3, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2Damn I wish he had increased the depth of field. I really dont like the blur.
- khedoros, on 07/31/2009, -0/+2Dubai is better-equipped, in some ways, than the US. It comes from the immense oil wealth pouring into the country. It doesn't mean that everyone there is rich, but it *does* mean that they have artificial ski slopes in the desert...
- alecks, on 02/14/2008, -1/+3ZOMG! An animal on a road!?! the Civilizations is clashings
- muslax27, on 02/14/2008, -1/+3ya like 1,000 stories submitted daily
- edebolt, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2that's my camel dammit !
- NJank, on 02/14/2008, -2/+4irish, but not for long...
- ashraib, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2The driver stopped his car and started to explain
to the camel who is the owner of the road (in hard terms). - bob12321, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2Its Flickr, I doubt it need a mirror.
- 04jmorri, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2Scottish or Welsh perhaps XD
- NickLB, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2There's camel shadow all over that picture.
It's heeeeelarious how often people just HAVE to claim an image is Photoshopped. Does being the first to assert that something is fake guarantee one some sort of prize? If the pic is manipulated do they win candy, perhaps? Real candy or Photoshopped candy?
:) - treeflappa, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2Im backing the dromedary.
- smrekar, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2Camels can run up to 65 km/h (40 mph) in short bursts and sustain speeds of up to 40 km/h (25 mph).
Camels can go "weeks" with no water.
They can for sure go longer, but can they go further?
I have no clue what they can average in a day. 100-200? - muki, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2I'd like to see the 'after' pic.
- chewbacca77, on 02/14/2008, -1/+3Japanese, obviously.
