Excitement?
A Jedi craves not these things. - acmaurer, on 01/13/2009, -2/+14That's awesome - I wonder if it's coming to Chicago any time soon
- BorsKaegel, on 01/13/2009, -0/+10That Yoda looks wasted.
- jermainiusblack, on 01/13/2009, -1/+9The exhibition isn't just about Star Wars, Its about how Star Wars has influenced (predicted) the science of today. For example it shows Luke's land speeder in relation to today's maglev trains. It's worth going to if your in Sydney but try to go in the afternoon because the place is full of little kids in the morning.
- TomGfromCanada, on 01/14/2009, -0/+6I LOVE STAR WARS
- giapet, on 01/13/2009, -3/+9Happy to be the 100th digg on this <3

- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -1/+4Very Cool!
- rtatay, on 01/14/2009, -0/+3I actually saw this same exhibition in Chicago last year; I forget which museum...
- belac88, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2I saw it in Fort Worth... it was definitely one of the best times I've ever had at a museum.
- michaelpinto, on 01/13/2009, -1/+3jermainiusblack: It's funny that you mention that - the original set of photos that this gallery is based on has tons of little padwons running amok all over the exhibit!
- poprocksandsoda, on 01/14/2009, -1/+3Saw this years ago at the Smithsonian. It's epic.
- spreadheadTC, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2Yes, this show is fantastic. Caught it in St. Paul and as someone who grew up watching Star Wars religiously, it was a dream come true. I had my picture taken with the real model of the Millennium Falcon they shot for the original trilogy. You can't beat that.
Go see it if its in your town. - fixorater, on 01/13/2009, -1/+3I saw a similar exhibition at Yerba Buena Gardens in SF many years ago. It was nerdgazmic.
- DannoSpeaks, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2Didn't this already tour America? I saw it at the Science Museum of St. Paul, MN.
- RevLoki, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2Needs more pictures of Storm Troopers... but I'm a bit biased....
- pitdog, on 01/13/2009, -1/+3Yoda looks like he's had some vodka.
anyways - the old Star Wars trilogy rules, why o why they did not make the next films on the basis of Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy? without any changes from mr. Lucas... that next trilogy is awesome. - molochi, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2 I love Star Wars but Star Wars is pure space opera. It's art. It's philosophy. Emotion. But it's technology is gobbledygook. At best it predicts what some vague effect of what science might look like. It has as much to do with science as Lord of the Rings or the Bible.
- valleyvideo, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2I saw the first Art of Star Wars exhibition at SF MOMA way back in the day -- this science-focused exhibit looks damn keen. Hope it heads to the states.
- Scaramanga7, on 01/14/2009, -0/+1More than that, what science fiction ideas appear in it are taken from other, previous SF. Look at Herbert's Dune, Asimov's Foundation, and plenty of others. I love SW, but it's not SF, and it hasn't predicted a blasted thing.
- brie987, on 01/14/2009, -0/+1I would love to see this hope it comes to Brooklyn. I also wish they would have an item next to the models for scale like a can of coke or something familiar. Pretty neat though.
- Azathoth624, on 01/14/2009, -1/+2I went to this late last year and was blown away by the amount of parents taking their young kids along: I had a total light-bulb moment where I understood what Lucas has been up to with Episodes 1-3 and the Clone Wars stuff: he's making Star Wars (as in the entire universe: the original trilogy, the books, everything) instantly, easily accessible to a whole new generation of kids.
While I'm of the opinion that there has been little to redeem any of the movies since Jedi, the way they've been filmed, the content and the themes make Eps 1-3 a valid and safe choice for parents, and they hype that is attached makes them acceptable for the kids... its the circle of life, man! - morogolus, on 01/14/2009, -0/+1Heh, never mind it was Leia. It just doesn't look like a bathrobe when she wore it.
- Astark, on 01/14/2009, -1/+2I was hoping this was gonna be a chick with a yoda tattoo on her crotch.
- molochi, on 01/14/2009, -0/+1You'd be amazed. But most of them are too young for me.
- tawnee, on 01/14/2009, -0/+1also the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, PA.
- junkneo, on 01/14/2009, -0/+1Classic stuff.
- morogolus, on 01/14/2009, -0/+1Who wore the bright white robe?
- fgiono, on 01/14/2009, -0/+1I went. it was cool to see but there were to many kids running around...
- fakeXsound, on 01/14/2009, -0/+1I actually went to this when it came to Boston. It was awesome to get within a foot of props used in the movies. It was also really cool to see the minute details of the miniatures used in the originals.
- inactive, on 01/14/2009, -1/+1Chyeah right, like some chick is going to have anything to do with this...
- Scaramanga7, on 01/14/2009, -0/+0Well, the costume was taped to her sweater meat, and that makes it so much more attractive . . .
- inactive, on 01/14/2009, -1/+1JarJar Binks
- Firespray1138, on 01/14/2009, -1/+1Half the pictures are blurry...
