- gruntbot, on 06/18/2009, -1/+7we have 90.5 years to go. little too early to say, don't you think?
- brokenspatula, on 06/18/2009, -2/+6wow, that art (graffiti) really sucks
- algaeturd, on 06/18/2009, -3/+6Street art is just another trend and very few are good enough to make people reconsider the issues being addressed visually. Sometimes graffiti is just that: ***** graffiti. True, there are some intelligent pieces that make you think but the majority are made by people who want some kind of visibility or publicity.
Banksy said it best about art: modern art attracts the lowest common denominator these days and people who are more concerned about making a name for themselves rather than creating something that speaks to people.
Advertising and marketing companies generally have more creative/original people than art and design firms. - Myztry, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3Fountains have long been one of the artistic mainstays. Water pouring onto/into various emotive figures.
I can see a waterboarding fountain making a suitable modern political statement... - ViscidGobs, on 06/21/2009, -0/+2Great social commentary. When is he going to do a piece on eroding privacy rights?
- MrSmileGuy, on 06/17/2009, -4/+6People need to stop riding Banksy so hard, there are 100 other street artists out there...he just happens to get the most attention. That being said, Banksy = One of the most influential artists of 21st century
- StickWST, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2Lol @ people who see any stencil piece and say "wow, that reminds me of banksy's work!'
- hello3u, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2I feel charitable today. I think I'll go out and get myself a pair of diamond studded Nike.
- spookyturtle, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2Here's a fun one by my work in Chicago. Run, Blago, Run!

- themonkmob, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1hey you might be right...but who else are you referring to then?
- tomasmarc, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1It's all about USA: some dumb ass Alaskan is as important as poverty and child labour issues.
- Fredo521, on 06/18/2009, -1/+2dugg for one page. and for being awesome.
- mandraque, on 06/19/2009, -0/+1i know its just that from the comments it would seem that any graffiti art is banksy. But it was a nice collection.
- ballin315, on 06/19/2009, -0/+1the blood diamond was made by a high schooler i should know cause i know the girl that made it and and it is even better looking in real life.
- Donpablo, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1haha, The "End Global Warming" one (assuming CO2) then everyone stop using electricity and driving your car.
- ivan423, on 06/18/2009, -6/+7If those ***** tag anywhere near my house I swear I will shoot them.
- taibo, on 06/18/2009, -1/+2The art was nice, but the text under them was often pretty stupid. For example, Tibet is not having problems with the Republic of China, because that would be Taiwan. And was Sarah Palin really that big for the 21st century?
- MrX742, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1cool stuff
- mandraque, on 06/18/2009, -4/+4If banksy tagged my house ill have to mail him 100k for when i sell my house at higher value.
- algaeturd, on 06/18/2009, -3/+3Everyone who doesn't know anything about contemporary art cites Banksy as the defining artist of our time. It's like someone who doesn't know much about music saying that Nickleback was a defining band because they sold a lot of albums.
Banksy is good. He's creative...he's original. But suggesting that he defines a generation makes me think you haven't been too involved with the full spectrum of artists from the past 10-15 years.
Visibility and media coverage =/= defining a generation. - nick041, on 06/18/2009, -2/+2Good stuff. I thought the End Global Warming onesaid Emo Global Warming at first. I knew those ***** where are threat to humanity.
- mandraque, on 06/18/2009, -2/+2Im sure most of those arent by banksy.
- aprilscancelled, on 06/18/2009, -0/+0Hey, I'm the author of this article, and no most of these aren't Banksy, but we certainly had to include more than one of his. Theyre just so damned amazing! And Banksy's work in Palestine actually inspired the idea for this whole article.
:) - gibbymel, on 06/18/2009, -0/+0Tibet isn't having problems with China? Seriously get a clue or at least read a book.
- taibo, on 06/18/2009, -0/+0Wow way to read the comment. The Republic of China is Taiwan, so no, Tibet is not having problems with them.
- taibo, on 06/18/2009, -1/+1Yes, people tagging walls with '***** you you ***** *****' is certainly art and valuable social commentary.
Not all graffiti is art. - inactive, on 06/18/2009, -3/+2street art = real.
theres not a better medium to express the 21st Century. - wannaBdug, on 06/17/2009, -5/+3Wow these are really powerful. Great work.
- GhostInAShell, on 06/18/2009, -6/+2Graffiti = Art. Art = valuable social commentary. Transitive Property!
Graffiti = valuable social commentary. Support your local artists, folks. - MargotCross, on 06/17/2009, -8/+2Totally agree. I feel like Banksy defines our generation of artists.
