Mirror: http://uploadingit.com/view/528718_17tki - MrBabyMan, on 04/11/2008, -6/+141Apologies, you are of course, correct. Radoslav Zilinsky did this piece entitled "Worth Enough?"
- ChronicColonic, on 04/11/2008, -4/+125Dugg for 'embiggen'.
http://science-community.sciam.com/blog-entry/Scia ... - Xoti, on 04/11/2008, -12/+128Im pretty sure its photoshopped.
- inactive, on 04/11/2008, -0/+83The bottom village reminds me a lot of AOE 2, anyone else agree?
- dsl145, on 04/11/2008, -4/+53Would you really want to fish in that water??
- inactive, on 04/11/2008, -4/+45DUBAI?
- Deveak, on 04/11/2008, -3/+43This is what Dubai will look like in 10 years, plus a working death star.
- Darrelc, on 04/11/2008, -1/+36I would love a jigsaw of this.
- Abaddon1125, on 04/11/2008, -2/+36Because people want to claim that digital art is a dime a dozen, when really it is just as difficult to produce as traditional media. It's too bad digital art carries with it the stigma of being "easy" or "cheap" when it is neither.
- Me1000, on 04/11/2008, -1/+34IDK, the shadows and reflections are pretty accurate!
- Kallius, on 04/11/2008, -5/+36Dugg comments for Skarbreeze and Bobbybebob providing working links. Buried for Mrbabyman linking to a crap-ass server that can't take more than 10 views.
- strobelite33, on 04/11/2008, -0/+26holy hell. that reminds me of brave new world; when they go to visit the savages and it's this completely different world juxtaposed to the 'future world'. insane picture.
- akman003, on 04/11/2008, -3/+28How is this artist not famous??
- TheWorm, on 04/11/2008, -0/+24I'm disappointed that this isn't going to be a videogame.
- zephyear, on 04/11/2008, -1/+23god i would love to live in that city
FLYING CARS MAN - exomni, on 04/11/2008, -0/+21City 17?
- mattjumbo, on 04/11/2008, -1/+22It's odd how different people interpret art. My impression was that the smaller, rural town had chosen to live that way and there was a kind of symbiosis and respect between the two.
- catachip, on 04/11/2008, -2/+21I never heard the word "embiggen" before I came to Digg.
My friend tells me it's a perfectly cromulent word though. - Jiggernaut82, on 04/11/2008, -7/+25I love how this picture combines both modern society and the less than privileged almost 3rd world country feel. Creating the idea that one is so much more superior than the other, and that at best they must live off our waste. Very powerful!!
- grizzlybrice, on 04/11/2008, -0/+18The pixels look pretty real to me.
- inactive, on 04/11/2008, -3/+21I wish MMORPG could look this awesome.
- rodbotic, on 04/11/2008, -0/+17this reminds me of The river that divides Manhattan from new jersey
- NikoKun, on 04/11/2008, -2/+17Talk about class gap...
- inactive, on 04/11/2008, -2/+17Hey, that's cheap, the ant in the bottom left is missing a leg!
- Bviper, on 04/11/2008, -3/+16Man, this really makes you think. The people in the bottom half are probably more happy than the family in the flying sedan.
- Ladymongoose, on 04/11/2008, -0/+13It's a perfectly cromulent word... http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cromulent
- woojoo, on 04/11/2008, -0/+12This painting is evenly split into thirds: Past Present Future
Past is the village people, future is the metropolis. We are in the middle: Just a series of tubes. - ictharus, on 04/11/2008, -1/+12Reminiscent of Ergo Proxy - for sure
- Mongolai, on 04/11/2008, -0/+11It's a perfectly cromulent word.
- TheImmigrant, on 04/11/2008, -0/+11He DOESNT EXIST!
- pugs909, on 04/11/2008, -0/+11mrbabyman just camps on reedit
- kinseyincanada, on 04/11/2008, -2/+12Mirror: http://radoxist.deviantart.com/art/Worth-enough-73 ...
- twertyto, on 04/11/2008, -1/+11Actually it made me think of something from Final Fantasy 7. Its been too long I forgot what.
- ligyron, on 04/11/2008, -0/+9oh ***** the internet is here
- skyroket, on 04/11/2008, -0/+9How the ***** is this guy getting dugg down? That was badass!
- Kraemahz, on 04/11/2008, -1/+10Flying Cars Man seems like a lame superhero.
- Rheic, on 04/11/2008, -0/+9You people have no sense of humour.
- Di0genes, on 04/11/2008, -0/+8Mine as well. The village seems idyllic, not oppressed.
- jakatan, on 04/11/2008, -0/+8reminds me of "lost coast" from half-life 2
- Chairboy, on 04/11/2008, -2/+10Bottom half = the part of the girl many Digg'ers will never see in person?
- mali1, on 04/11/2008, -0/+8I have to say I laughed pretty hard. The internets are serious business, you know.
"didn't i warn you about this *****?": that's ***** GOLD! - gameyharp, on 04/11/2008, -0/+8"show you my version of a drill down" WOW
- tripledjr, on 04/11/2008, -1/+9Makes me wanna play FF7 hardcore. amazingly well done picture.
- lotsa1s, on 04/11/2008, -1/+9The contrast is indeed very striking, but what is also interesting is the way such simple things such as a little feast and fire excites the village people and brings them joy. How they can live in contentness and happiness in the shadow of the city, without exuberant materialism, and flying cars, and gigantic spires of metal and glass that cut through the sky. Without pumping millions of gallons of polluted water into nearby river systems.
They've no need for such "advances" in technology and science to live their lives, and in fact look warmer, happier, and more living then the cold materialism that the city people exhibit. The people in the flying cars seem to be racing to get somewhere, while the ones in the village seem to have already found it. - dakilla91, on 04/11/2008, -0/+7Way to go digg...we brought MIT's website down!
