- howsyournan, on 06/22/2009, -2/+20Stonehenge is like mecca for the disenfranchised hippy community.
In all seriousness "there ain't no party like a pagan party" - bcool, on 06/22/2009, -1/+18hmmm... here in seattle, solstice means naked/body painted people on bikes

People believe different things, get over it. - dirtmonkey, on 06/22/2009, -0/+12The Russian Neo-Pagans seemed like cool folks...all except that guy with the human skull...
- Hetman, on 06/22/2009, -1/+12That looks so fun. If I went I would constantly be hearing spinal tap in my head though.
"Stonehenge! 'Tis a magic place
Where the moon doth rise with a dragon's face
Stonehenge! Where the virgins lie
And the prayers of devils fill the midnight sky" - beetrixi, on 06/22/2009, -0/+8Yay! for Pagans!!
- avaris15, on 06/22/2009, -0/+7It was a fantastic night! For some, it's all about the symbolism etc, but for us locals, it's about having an awesome time with your friends. It's always quite an experience. I live within walking distance (just about) and trust me, after an all-nighter like that, it is a struggle to get home. Made all the more difficult by the dehydration caused by alcohol.
All in all though, great fun.
Some fantastic photos here btw! ;) - AngryAngryBrian, on 06/22/2009, -0/+7Somewhere in space aliens are laughing at us for dancing around on one of their road signs.
- Amlethus, on 06/22/2009, -0/+7Just in case anyone in here doesn't understand the implications of the word naked: NSFW pics (unless you work somewhere awesome)
- christoast, on 06/22/2009, -0/+6Before stonehenge, there was woodhenge and strawhenge
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiFq_nk8pE0 - avaris15, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5It's not even about belief for most people. Trust me, there were some weird people there, but most people were just travellers wanting to see what it's all about. For me, it was just an excuse to have a good night out with friends, and get raucously drunk, and have to walk 4 miles to get home, only to have 2 hours kip.
Hang on, why did I go again? - SamSks, on 06/22/2009, -0/+4Chris Guest played a great mandolin solo during that - when the dwarves were dancing around the little mock-up.
It's in my head now. - Earlofnecromium, on 06/22/2009, -0/+4was expecting more stonehenge boob.
- b1kerguy, on 06/22/2009, -0/+4stonehenge was almost crushed by a dwarf!!
- Jahweh, on 06/22/2009, -0/+3Quite alot of people do stay to tidy up you know, it is just a timely photo trying to discredit the solstice at stonehenge.
I swear 2 hours after that photo, it was spic and spam.... - wertach, on 06/22/2009, -0/+3Great Pics! Especially the hot gal with the cowboy hat.
- rivalius13, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2......yea, those aren't tambourines. Similar to a bodhrán, but I presume the Russians have their own name for it.
- pe5t1lence, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2General name is a frame drum, don't know what the Russians call it. I found "Tar", "Tambourine", "Riqq", "Bendir", "Deff", and "Tuur".
Haha bendir, insert girdir. - fuknlightn, on 06/22/2009, -1/+3Those people are bat ***** crazy.
- Fleagleman, on 06/22/2009, -1/+3You are witnesses at the new birth of Spinal Tap, Mark 2
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -1/+3So are Catholics.

And for boston.c.. wait, what the? - dirtmonkey, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1Yes living forever would be just fine.
- avaris15, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1I love Eddie Izzard. Can't wait to see his new show in November.
However, there is actually a Woodhenge. It's rubbish though.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodhenge - inactive, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1Being covered in spam isn't much of an improvement
- StormsOfSteel, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1He said "naked". How do you click on it when you've read that?
- shutaro, on 06/22/2009, -3/+4No one knows who they were or what they were doing...
- rivalius13, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1Tambourines have little.....jingly thingys on the sides though...right?
- avaris15, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1I know for sure that it is as perfectly clean now as it was on Friday. Still got traffic cones everywhere though!
- pe5t1lence, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1Totally
- damnshoes, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1someday i will visit Stonehenge
- GovernmentsGun, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1Symbols of mortality. Do you want to live forever? I thought he was cool, except trying to claim the title "Supreme Priest."
- walgman, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1I went to Stonehenge and I can't recommend it highly enough to anyone wondering whether to go next year.
- finklehorn, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1THEY'RE NOT CHRISTIANSZZAUHH!!
- Mike668, on 06/22/2009, -1/+2What a bunch of hippies.
- aznhomig, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1lulwut
- AmusedToDeath, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1"Animals are fine, but their acceptability is limited. A small child is even better, but not nearly as effective as the right kind of adult."
- GovernmentsGun, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1Nice pictures. Wish I could have been there. Although I'll bet those Russians who attended would be surprised to know that they were in the presence of a "supreme priest."
It's probably just some ***** title he made up for himself and he managed to get the gullible reporter to write it down in private. - Twinnie, on 06/22/2009, -1/+2I can't imagine that too many of these people actually take Paganism seriously still.
- minnymoo, on 06/22/2009, -1/+1AWWYEAH!
- FmyLife, on 06/22/2009, -1/+1I never knew you were allowed that close to Stonehenge. I'd like to go, just minus the hippies.
- b1kerguy, on 06/22/2009, -2/+2"you save the earth, im gonna throw my trash on the ground" - hippies
- chickefitz, on 06/22/2009, -3/+3Andrew, I don't know where you find these photos, but they are amazing. I guess I've always secretly wanted to be a photographer, as this is one art form that I truly appreciate.
- benburdick, on 06/22/2009, -1/+1looks like a Phish concert
- banski, on 06/22/2009, -5/+3Dirty hippies, look at all the crap they left there
