  • GawtMilk, on 05/30/2009, -0/+4For those who are interested, a lot of this is done in infrared. Digital, judging by the lack of clouding / halos often found in infrared film, but a lot of it looks large format.

    I love the "exploding dust on elephant". It's one of favorite nature photos.

    I have done extensive world travel, and this trip was hands down at the top of my list. I can't wait to go back to Africa. Everyone should go at least once. It kinda puts everything in perspective.

  • ThatDeadDude, on 05/30/2009, -0/+2I think more people need to go to more places in Africa. It's the world's second largest continent and yet everyone outside talks as if it's a single country with uniform attractions. It's not - what I love most about living in Africa is the variety.

  • emocean, on 06/08/2009, -0/+1Some look like infrared. Some look like they were shot with something like a lensbaby. Whether or not they were, I'm not sure, but you could get some similar effects.

  • haikuFU, on 05/30/2009, -0/+1So how does he get the tones and colors to look like that on his photos? I'm sure the camera didn't take them that way, so tons of post processing with photoshop? Is there a tutorial somewhere to get this effect?

    I've seen film prints that have this effect also, which was a result of the camera and the developing process. But I don't know how it was originally produced in the first place, or how to replicate with digital.

    Someone please enlighten me.
