- pegothejerk, on 02/26/2008, -3/+31You guys don't make fun of me! I'm taking my original millenium falcon STILL IN THE BOX, and I'm going home.
- mabhatter, on 02/26/2008, -1/+23this movie has missed it's timeframe.. wasn't it supposed to be out 2 years ago? It won't be funny anymore, and now won't even be the actual movie the director made... way to go hollywood.
- Maynza, on 02/26/2008, -1/+17A movie where the main plot point is completely changeable? THIS MOVIE WILL BE FANTASTIC.
- RobotBuddha, on 02/26/2008, -1/+12I'm not really a fan of the series, but reading the description I'm a little angry as someone who just likes good movies. What is it with hollywood and their insistence that a comedy should never be anything but 100% wacky. I like screwball comedies, but there is room for character development and plot within that. And yes, I can laugh at someone with cancer.
Do they really think we're so sheltered as a society that the thought of someone dying of cancer is novel enough to shatter any thought of amusement within us? I wish cancer, and death in general, was that rare. But most of us don't get very far in life without suffering enough of it that we've learned that it's a part of existence. Further, that it doesn't make a person less human while they're still around. - shit, on 02/26/2008, -1/+11"Meesa gonna die" ring a bell?
- rhinoceroz, on 02/26/2008, -0/+9Cancer plot sound like a real downer. When I rent a comedy, I want to laugh. Judd Apatow knows what he's doing.
- schizogony, on 02/26/2008, -1/+10He was.
- schizogony, on 02/26/2008, -0/+7It's still real to me dammit!
- Search153, on 02/26/2008, -2/+9The force can have a profound effect on the weak minded.
- ClunkClunk, on 02/26/2008, -0/+7"The shiny guy always worries"
- giveer, on 02/26/2008, -4/+10Mind you, I enjoy a good fanboy roasting as much as the next Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. Where's that link.....
Ah, here it is... http://www.milkandcookies.com/link/2536/detail/ - hellokutty, on 02/26/2008, -0/+6Can you imagine going through all of the trouble to battle cancer just to live long enough to see Phantom Menace? The letdown alone would probably finish you off.
- chris9902, on 02/26/2008, -0/+6film made, film didn't test well, film changed, people bitched, online petition, cake.
- MortalynFlux, on 02/26/2008, -0/+5I love Triumph!
Triumph: Would you take off your storm trooper helmet so that we can see what's under there?
Storm Trooper Guy: [taking off helmet] It's Colonel San...
Triump: PUT IT BACK ON!!!! - Brad324, on 02/26/2008, -0/+5They should mock these fanboys in the movie.
"He clearly doesn't know who he's messing with. Let's see how he likes having the Rebel Alliance put the smack down on him."
comedy gold! Theatres full of people would laugh at this douchebag while munching on popcorn. - sigafoo, on 02/26/2008, -1/+6This was hilarious imo. The best was the guy holding triumph trying to hold himself from laughing half the time
- rspeed, on 02/26/2008, -3/+7OH WOW I'VE NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE!
- Gosunkugi, on 02/26/2008, -0/+4"While a potential conflict like this has not occurred since Luke last walked into that bar in Tatoonie"
... oh man, I bet that went over HUGE with Star Wars fans. *Tatoonie?* - BossKey, on 02/26/2008, -0/+4Plus it implies that the cantina fight was a bigger conflict for Luke than that skirmish over the space station, or that thing about his dad...
...that quote sounded like a studio guy trying to come up with a clever, on-topic quote but not quite "getting it." - lolwutpear, on 02/26/2008, -0/+3spoke.
- tony23, on 02/26/2008, -0/+3They used to make movies like that - bittersweet comedies. They were often quite good. And they worked on TV too - remember MASH?
Too bad Hollywood doesn't have the talent to make stuff like that anymore. - PhilMoskowitz, on 02/26/2008, -0/+3In another ten years they'll just shoot dopamine directly into your body and not bother making those expensive movies at all.
Pathetic culture. - smacksaw, on 02/26/2008, -0/+3Fanboys are getting played. They probably planned this all along to generate controversy. I wouldn't have wanted to see it as a "kid getting cancer" story. But as a skewering of fanboys? That might be funny.
- osbjmg, on 02/26/2008, -0/+2Silly movie, but I'll watch to see Kristen Bell.
- ghm101, on 02/26/2008, -0/+2I think he shot first
;) - saradipity, on 02/26/2008, -0/+2That is one of the best skits ever, when that first came out, it was passed around my work for like a month.
- inactive, on 02/26/2008, -1/+3Dugg for the description.
- Cloned, on 02/26/2008, -1/+3I am disappointed they cut the cancer out of the plot, but it's really not that big of a deal. I am going to go to the movie in my Boba Fett costume with or without the cancer plot.
- Aidenf77, on 02/26/2008, -1/+3Most hardcore Star Wars fanboys that I know revel in their geekiness. What are these guys afraid of, that they'll be seen for what they are?
- goomba323, on 02/26/2008, -1/+3Hey man, A Walk to Remember is NOT a chick flick just because it involves cancer!!
- execute85, on 02/26/2008, -1/+3This reminds me of my movie "Fanboys 2", where a group of diggers break into the Weinstein Company to steal a copy of the original Fanboys and release it on the intertubes.
- Bots, on 02/26/2008, -0/+1is there a TLDR version?
- saradipity, on 02/26/2008, -0/+1I am a Star Wars fan but Jar Jar was dumb marketing gimmick.
- JBmtk, on 02/26/2008, -0/+1Am I the only one that does not understand?
- mitch37, on 02/26/2008, -0/+1How do they sleep at night, outrage!!
- VeganG, on 02/26/2008, -1/+2The real comedy is this uproar.
- VirusUK, on 02/26/2008, -0/+1nobody can ***** with my precious star wars.
- inactive, on 02/29/2008, -0/+1Yaay!! you think I care.
- LadyJ27, on 02/26/2008, -1/+2That's a shame. Isn't mocking Star Wars fans a tad outdated and oh, I don't know... done to death?
- telek0n, on 02/26/2008, -0/+1Wow, this thing must have been in the pipeline for ages. I think there was a preview for this on a Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back DVD I bought 2+ years ago.
- satanswetnipple, on 02/26/2008, -0/+1Well at least the directors cut will be significantly different.
- monkbot1, on 02/26/2008, -1/+2is this going to be another whiney bunch of nerds like the ones who screamed conspiracy over the lack of effort by FOX to promote Idiocracy? because that film was a big pile of *****, I did like the sctript/concept however.
- CrazyChair, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1That's why I think they want to change the plot ;). That would be the saddest ending in movie history.
- StealthMonkey, on 02/26/2008, -1/+1in bed.
- induren, on 02/26/2008, -1/+1Wow ok so now the film will not glorify star wars nerds. It will instead poke fun at them, like the REST OF THE ENTIRE PLANET!
I'm a geek and if someone makes fun of me that's ok. It's their right. Where is Triumph the Insult Dog? - cheaprugs, on 05/16/2008, -0/+0http://astore.amazon.com/cheap.mattresses-20/
http://astore.amazon.com/buy.cheap.scrubs-20/
http://astore.amazon.com/buy.cheap.rugs-20/ - bjs3171, on 02/26/2008, -1/+1amazing. it is possible to have a genuine comedy that has a serious story. there's no reason they can't lighten up a movie that still has the original plot like this. when will studio execs learn of this mystical thing called "the grey area"? it's either all one way, or all the other way with them.
- CuriousDan, on 02/26/2008, -0/+0Why don't they make a movie about stealing the Star Wars Christmas Special for the sole purpose of saving the mankind from this horror?
- lolo2007, on 07/01/2008, -0/+0is this going to be another whiney bunch of nerds like the ones who screamed conspiracy over the lack of effort by FOX to promote Idiocracy? because that film was a big pile of *****, I did like the sctript/concept however
