- Ghostalker, on 11/15/2009, -1/+15I hope there's a throne of skulls in there somewhere. That would totally rule!

- jayrok, on 11/15/2009, -3/+12Is this where priests go to bone?
- subliminali, on 11/15/2009, -2/+10amazing, i didn't realize there were two of them. The one in the czech republic is even more elaborate with the skeleton decorations, check it out--

;) - inactive, on 11/15/2009, -0/+7Portugal is an awesome country to make horror/terror movies.
Despite i'm german, i live here in Portugal - xk3t, on 11/15/2009, -0/+7Was I the only one thinking that this would make an AWESOME doom map?
- dpcdomino, on 11/15/2009, -0/+6Évora itself is pretty nice spot too. A college-esque town built entirely within a castle wall. Driving there is quite interesting. Some roads are not wide enough for cars. The Bone Chapel is odd. Until you find out the skulls and bone shrunk, you really thing they were all little people
- levi88, on 11/15/2009, -0/+6Kinda reminds me of Diablo 2.
- WHISKEYx2, on 11/15/2009, -0/+6I am so shooting my next heavy metal music video there!
- KingGorilla, on 11/15/2009, -2/+7BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!
- iChopPryde, on 11/15/2009, -4/+8WOW thats crazy i'm Portuguese Canadian cool to see some crazy ***** my people did in the passed.
- eviscerator, on 11/15/2009, -0/+4Nice. Reminds of a place near Prague. They have chandeliers og bone and stuff too and walls just like those on these pictures. Can't remember the name of the place though.
- NexusP, on 11/15/2009, -1/+3How Bizarre! how bizarre.
- nyxerebos, on 11/15/2009, -2/+4This seems strangely in line with the symbolism of Christianity, the whole 'eat the body of Christ and drink his blood' while you stand under a statute depicting a gruesome torture-execution. The very icon of the religion is is an instrument of torture, and its main selling point revolves around concerns of ones own death.
- tacmen, on 11/15/2009, -0/+2Here's a good place to get started for the same place mentioned above by subliminali. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedlec_Ossuary
The official web site have a few quicktime virtual tours. They are ok. Not high quality but still interesting. There are also some others like this. Not uncommon to see this at all. It was a way to honor the dead in times when plagues and such made it hard to deal with the number of dead. This site lists 7 total places like the above. Enjoy. http://weburbanist.com/2009/10/30/7-wonders-of-the ... - coachmcguirk, on 11/15/2009, -0/+2FTA: "The strangest part about the Chapel was that it didn’t seem all that creepy."
Oh.. also FTA: "As an added bonus, the monks decided to hang two corpses on the wall from a chain — that of a woman and a child."
Whoever wrote this article must have a skewed idea of what creepy actually means.
For the record I found it quite creepy. - supermanred, on 11/16/2009, -0/+2I'm Portuguese Canadian too but I know how to spell the word past.
- rmxz, on 11/15/2009, -0/+2Wonder if they take donations. I bet many diggers think it'd be more interesting to contribute to projects like this than just get buried or cremated after death.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 11/15/2009, -0/+2Good idea. Don't be all alone sealed in a box or urn when you are dead.
- buddamus, on 11/15/2009, -0/+1I can see Murry from monkey island
- edud, on 11/15/2009, -0/+1This one is in Rome:

- nunofgs, on 11/16/2009, -1/+2Hah, I live in Portugal and been to Evora a couple of times and had no idea that this existed. Thanks.
- vaderson, on 11/18/2009, -0/+0There's one like that in Rome. You're not allowed to take photos for some reason. They get really upset.
- mstachiw, on 11/15/2009, -2/+2I see dead people
- picor96, on 11/15/2009, -1/+1Dear Ana Gomes, great skull graffiti...
