inquisitr.com — Thomas Hawk, a popular bay area photographer, was thrown out of a museum for taking photos. Hawk was taking photos in an area where photography was allowed. This incident involving public photography deserves attention. Duncan Riley post an interesting take via The Inquisitr, All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing

- Idietired, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1I read Hawk's original post, and initially I was behind him, but some of the counter-posts are hard to ignore.
Was he really targeted because his camera was bigger and nicer than the other cameras, or was he approached by security for a different matter entirely?
I don't believe the "Shooting down a woman's shirt" theory, mostly 'cause a 14mm lens would require the photog to be basically two feet or less from the subject to really pull that off, but the thing that bugs me the most was that the security detail didn't want to see the pics. If this was all because he was shooting, they might have asked to review them or even may have asked him to delete them (which is illegal, but security people don't always know that).
They didn't care to see what he was shooting, which makes me wonder if there wasn't another reason he was asked to leave ... but I wasn't there, so I'll just keep watching the stories.
