Yes, there may be people who keep the books for free, but I know for a fact that there are people (and I include myself here) who will buy the book afterwards if they enjoyed it. Hell, I've downloaded and later bought entire TV shows.
On a related note, it seems that the RIAA/MPAA fail to understand that there actually are people who will buy a product after they listen/view/read it for free simply because they support the artist/author/director/etc. - larryappleton, on 02/13/2008, -0/+1come on already. people need to move on. everyone copies everything.
