- macmcraeart, on 07/13/2009, -1/+228After all its okay to show someone getting brutally murdered on cable TV but showing the human form in its natural state leads to widespread outrage. Our morals are seriously ***** up.
- sjbdallas, on 07/12/2009, -2/+225I'm nude right now.
- lisaawesome, on 07/12/2009, -6/+217"Especially now, when most public images of the human form are airbrushed into a preposterous lie, children ought to know what actual people look like under their clothes. Thanks to the internet, a generation of boys is growing up submerged in the fake aesthetic of pornography..."
I absolutely have to agree with that statement. Almost all the nudity we see is airbrushed to hell or has been subjected to extensive plastic surgery. I know girls who think something is wrong with their breasts because almost all the bare breasts they see have been surgically altered. We need to get back in touch with the natural body. It may not be perfect but it's beautiful in its own right. Lot of girls these days measure their bodies against these fake Barbie dolls because they think that's what men expect us to look like and it just kills their self esteem. - Junior612, on 07/12/2009, -11/+116Moar Pix
- piieerrrree, on 07/13/2009, -0/+100Ironically, the internet has had the opposite effect for me; I don't go looking for "professional" porn-"artists", but stuff that people post themselves... Without their candidness and the internet, I'd never have known of the variety found in people and how beautiful one's perceived flaws can be.
Long live camwhores! - robertisaar, on 07/13/2009, -2/+97the general consensus is that in europe, nudity is more accepted than violence, america is the exact opposite...
- DavidTurnbull, on 07/13/2009, -2/+70And I was the guy in the back row drawing dick figures in you.
- dafragsta, on 07/13/2009, -1/+66... and typing with one hand, no less!
- CoreyTamas, on 07/13/2009, -1/+49I've printed off this article and am keeping it folded in my wallet. I'm going to show it to the manager at Arby's next time he gives me a hassle about the pants thing I do.
- Hecubus452, on 07/13/2009, -3/+47Anything pro-nudity gets a digg from me
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -1/+42don't worry, when we get realistic virtual reality, we won't need girls any more!
- suntzusputnik, on 07/13/2009, -1/+40i was watching the history channel the other day and they were running a program on leonardo da vinci. they showed his vitruvian man along with other notable art works of the time all censored. paintings and sculptures by boticelli, michelangelo and other artists were censored. i don't think that's right.
- Agamemnon582bc, on 07/12/2009, -0/+36You obviously read the article.
- mrpunman, on 07/13/2009, -12/+47***** or GTFO
- PxCxG, on 07/12/2009, -5/+39Please diggers, keep your nudity to yourselves!
- DavidTurnbull, on 07/13/2009, -1/+35I can see that.
(Ignore the camera flashes by the way.) - Amadeus2490, on 07/13/2009, -3/+34And I was the guy in the back row drawing stick figures of you.
- macmcraeart, on 07/13/2009, -1/+32Yeah - that's why I said OUR. As in the US.

- matthekc, on 07/13/2009, -0/+30This reminds me of a quote from the romantic comedy 100 girls...
I paraphrase: Girl: It's not fair that woman are expected to look like models
Guy: It's not fair that men are conditioned to want something they can never have
Alright, you can all make fun of me for being a guy who can quote a romantic movie now.
Seriously though this movie is a seriously funny romantic comedy with a healthy dose of nudity but still a total chick flick... watch it with your girlfriend never your buddies. - QueenOfAStoner, on 07/13/2009, -0/+29Filosophical? Really?
- ayeroxor, on 07/13/2009, -1/+30How to determine if this is /b/, a step-by-step method.
1. Determine whether or not /b/ is in URL
2. If unsure, refer to Step 1. - Spire3660, on 07/13/2009, -1/+28If we werent so ***** uptight about nudity all the time, the occasional sight of one would not shock or titillate us. It is entirely possible to appreciate an attractive human form and not commute it to sexual feelings.
- lucibenning678, on 07/12/2009, -2/+27There is nothing wrong with nudity in art. I have posed for a life art class and will do it again.
- matthekc, on 07/13/2009, -0/+23NSFW
Life class nude search via google images filter off.

- azureskies88, on 07/13/2009, -2/+24"Art can never exist without naked beauty displayed,"
What? Obviously, naked beauty can be art, but art can exist quite happily without it.
While I agree with the gist of the article, many artists should often refrain from speaking - unless they are attending a platitude convention, where they will fit right in. - whatthefu, on 07/12/2009, -2/+22It is? You mean I wasn't able to comprehend the beauty of the human body upon seeing nude sculptures at a museum when I was 8 or so? That's odd.

1. Of, relating to, the knowledge of thin crispy pastry. - inactive, on 07/13/2009, -3/+22This is a crock. The internet is full of images of everyday people.
- suntzusputnik, on 07/13/2009, -0/+17i don't see what the problem is with nudity in the first place in media. what's the big deal?
- SirBruce, on 07/13/2009, -2/+18It's precisely *because* nudity is made taboo in childhood that it can't usually be appreciated artisticly until adulthood.
- poopin, on 07/13/2009, -2/+18Obviously you are looking for porn, not nudity. Obviously you don't understand the point of the article.
FTA: "Thanks to the internet, a generation of boys is growing up submerged in the fake aesthetic of pornography"
Also FTA: "We need the background scenery of other people's bodies – dumpy, scrawny, dimpled or lean – in order to be reassured that our own peculiarities are normal. " - IphtashuFitz, on 07/13/2009, -0/+14Yeah, but the typical horny teenager isn't going to search for "average people having realistic sex". They're going to be searching for things like "hot xxx sluts".
- Suricou, on 07/13/2009, -0/+14How much does it pay?
I'm unemployed and desperate... - trevorh, on 07/13/2009, -0/+14Oh Tobais you blowhard.

- Aeron, on 07/13/2009, -1/+14"John Ruskin, who discovered on his wedding night that women have pubic hair, and was so disgusted that he refused to consummate the marriage."
Hahahaha :D - rarefactory, on 07/13/2009, -0/+13This show gets thumbs up from me, and I hope it doesn't get taken off the air because of a few people afraid of reality.
The human figure is a beautiful thing, and as long as it's tasteful I see no issue. I've done a fair amount of nude life drawing in art school and not only is it not at all arousing, it's probably one of the most helpful drawing exercises, which is what this show is meant for. - BitpopBoogie, on 07/13/2009, -0/+13yeah nobody gets riled up when the fatties take off their clothes but you get some hot fashion model and all your old fat wrinkled up wives get their panties in a twist. All we can blame for fat wives getting mad at hot models ... Barack Obama. Somehow, I'll find a way.
- maz2331, on 07/13/2009, -0/+12My wife is the same way - always comparing herself to models and such, and never feeling good about her body no matter what I do or say. It's so annoying that it's hard to even get her to have sex sometimes because she doesn't want anyone to ever see her naked.
And she's actually pretty hot. Thus I drink more and more... - BIOHazard87, on 07/13/2009, -1/+12It's on 4chan!
Channel 4 - DirtyVicar, on 07/13/2009, -0/+11Greek statues represent curvy models with just a slight amount of fat. That's not technically considered "fit and healthy" in our culture, but I'll take that any day over the boyish Maxim stick figures with ludicrous fake boobs.
- StolenLamp, on 07/13/2009, -0/+11If I have to tell you again, I'm going to invoke the right not to serve you the roast beef sandwich OR the curly fries. And don't think for one second you're getting a Jamocha shake, cause we always shut down the machine 10 minutes before you get there, no matter what time it is.
- Xaevier, on 07/12/2009, -3/+14I think that cameraman needs some lessons on what should and should not be focused on/blurred out.

-Mark Twain - inactive, on 07/13/2009, -0/+10While the last thing I wanna see are my parents nekkid, the stigma is that 'naked is bad!!!!!111oneoneno'. When it's not. we all have bodies. All of us.
hiding them and being ashamed is what's wrong. - spriggig, on 07/13/2009, -2/+11How could I NOT digg that headline?
- glendower, on 07/13/2009, -0/+9what about unfit people? Certainly it has its place in art, too.
- Philbert, on 07/13/2009, -0/+9"Bad naked" is the whole point of what the author was saying. If you realize at a very young age what people really look like it, you won't be confused by it later, even if it's just a subconscious confusion. My parents don't do this but I read about it in a book when I was a teen (I'm 32 now) and agreed that it was a good idea.
