- inactive, on 08/21/2008, -35/+178And capitalism once again triumphs over stupidity.
- Hetman, on 08/21/2008, -21/+144There is a market for gay marriage greeting cards, so it would be stupid not to.
- Coven, on 08/22/2008, -7/+118Homosexuality in no way compares to pedophilia or bestiality. For a marriage, you need consent from both parties. Children are unable to give legal consent. Animals...have no ability to give consent even if they were legally allowed to.
You need help. - nymphetamine, on 08/22/2008, -9/+94Agreed. I mean, what's next? Cards for black people?
- BeeArePro, on 08/22/2008, -26/+107Faaaaabulous!
- jasoninoakland, on 08/22/2008, -2/+80"I like to live the word of Jesus Christ, who practiced and preached love, kindness and tolerance....by embracing as much hatred towards my fellow man as possible."
- fuzzmeister, on 08/22/2008, -3/+74"The only reason they're doing it is for the money."
Isn't that the point of a company? - KokomoNYC, on 08/22/2008, -15/+85Jesus, what's wrong with you guys? Hallmark starts selling cards for gay marriage and you say stuff like you're not going to shop there or you reference scripture?
The lamest part is that I'm sure if we asked any of you individually you'd say "No, no, I'm not bigoted, I just disagree with 'their lifestyle.'" Morons. - takamalak, on 08/22/2008, -5/+72You can bet a bunch of fundamentalists will get into a tizzy about this. The same people who are all for free markets will damn them for taking advantage of the market.
- ngmcs8203, on 08/22/2008, -7/+73I think American society hit a low point when your dad decided to take off that rubber.
- thecolor11, on 08/22/2008, -14/+79Wow, the bigots are out in force tonight.
- Coven, on 08/22/2008, -2/+67Please explain how homosexuality is "close" to pedophilia and beastiality.
- analreceiver, on 08/21/2008, -31/+86Fantasstic
- seantubridy, on 08/22/2008, -12/+67No, they're just not considering your ***** up morals. Your morals of hating people because they're different, you don't understand them, and you're scared of them.
- Coven, on 08/22/2008, -3/+54Sexual orientation is not deviancy. Religious fundamentalism on the other hand...
- TheSabre, on 08/22/2008, -2/+53Yeah, that's the same. Let's see, two people in a committed relationship versus someone that rapes children who have no say in the "relationships". Yeah, exactly the same...
- jasoninoakland, on 08/22/2008, -16/+62Gladly, you bigoted killjoy. *dugg down*
- ekdevdas, on 08/22/2008, -10/+53ah, this eight years of pervasive hate, ignorance, and fearmongering are finally coming to a close.
this is how we should have begun the new millennium. here's our second chance to bring back the good side of people; we've should respect everyone because everyone's a human being. - missrubytuesday, on 08/22/2008, -11/+53wow to all of you homophobes, if you insist on sheltering your children from the real world there are bigger things to worry about than gay marriage...... jerk offs
- Galaxylander, on 08/22/2008, -12/+53I'm gay, and I'm young, I still go to school and I know exactly what will happen when teenagers walk in the store. They'll rip them, they'll laugh when they see them, they'll steal them and destroy them, homophobia is ***** but for some stupid ***** reason these douchebags have so much hate drilled into their brain.
Good on Hallmark, ***** society. - Mohdoo, on 08/22/2008, -9/+49Give it up, fundamentalists, you won't win this fight. You lose more and more every day. Gay marriage will prevail.
- pintomp3, on 08/22/2008, -3/+42ron paul must feel so conflicted.
- inactive, on 08/22/2008, -5/+43I don't think I've ever laughed harder from a digg comment. I think part of it was me originally thinking it was a typo. And with your user name too... You win the internets.
- chaosium, on 08/22/2008, -0/+38The same people who cry to the FCC about titties but not murder.
- fuzzmeister, on 08/22/2008, -2/+39That's an open mind for ya.
- Coven, on 08/22/2008, -19/+54It's going to be fun watching the fundies squirm because of this. I wonder when the boycott starts.
- BestJaxx, on 08/22/2008, -1/+36Pedophilia is just as common amongst straight people as gay. Bestiality is more common amongst straight people then gay, most of them being women.
- jasoninoakland, on 08/22/2008, -21/+55Waiting for one of those "family values" bigoted hate groups to call on a ban of Hallmark. (They usually end up falling flat on their face)
- inactive, on 08/22/2008, -11/+45rofl, "Congratulations on being domestically partnered!"
- jasoninoakland, on 08/22/2008, -18/+51All the paid pro-McCain rentadiggers have turned this former geek-heaven of a site to a group of cranky old *****. Intelligent people seem to be outnumbered by ***** by... (see number to the right)
- jasoninoakland, on 08/22/2008, -0/+33Coincidence. Ford has had much bigger problems than a bunch of brain-dead fundies boycotting them. Good ol' GM has never run afoul of the bigots' favors, and they've been sinking in the ***** for decades.
- Coven, on 08/22/2008, -2/+35forgot the sarcasm tag there, chief?
- LowRentDiggs, on 08/22/2008, -0/+33I guess it was pretty smart of some kook "family" group to start a boycott in 2005 and say they were responsible for Ford's tumble that started in the 90s.
- KSUdesigner, on 08/22/2008, -4/+35Actually I'd call it a small step forward for American society. This country stands for freedom and equality, yet those who preach it most get all up in arms over homosexuality. Tell me, exactly how do you think a gay person is a threat to your life? Homosexuals are people just like you, they just happen to prefer having sex with someone who has the same genitalia as they do. Regardless of who they have sex with they should have the same rights as anybody else in a free country.
- eir574, on 08/22/2008, -1/+30I find it truly horrifying that there are people who don't see the need to draw a distinction between sexual acts between consenting adults and the rape of a child.
- Budkin, on 08/21/2008, -33/+62Wow, never expected a "family values" company like Hallmark to do this. Maybe things really are changing for the better.
- Diggnabbit, on 08/22/2008, -2/+31Marriage did not originate with the Christian Bible.
Marriage in the United States is a secular institution. It is not always performed by a religious figure and the religious definitions have no place in the legal definition of marriage.
You say that you don't hate gay people. And I believe that you think that. But what you're advocating (denying gay people the right to marry), whether you're doing it out of hate or some other reason, is a hateful thing. It's denying someone being treated equally.
Don't you find it ironic that you're demanding that you be given respect when you're not respecting other people? Why should people tolerate your position and let "the reaper" show you, when you aren't doing the same for them? - lukas88, on 08/22/2008, -6/+35"...and the prophet saith unto them: in the evil times there will be much buttsex, and rumors of buttsex on papyrus sheets, that give tidings of unholy unions in a tasteful fashion, and thou shalt shun them for their iniquity."
- drunkninja, on 08/22/2008, -4/+32The problem here is that you assume Judaism/Christianity invented the concept of marriage....
- charm803, on 08/22/2008, -5/+32Love isn't a "family value"?
- darthzaphod, on 08/21/2008, -54/+81Freakin' love it!
Even though Hallmark is kind of evil for inventing Valentine's Day, I love this idea to no end. ! - charm803, on 08/22/2008, -2/+28I hope you get touched by His Noodly Appendage. It would seem that you need more tolerance in your life.
If your GOD created all people, then He created gays as well, maybe to teach you tolerance.
If your GOD did not create gays, then there is no GOD.
You can't have it both ways.
RAmen. - filefly, on 08/22/2008, -1/+26...says "analreceiver."
- wtrwlkr, on 08/22/2008, -0/+24lajaw:
She knows more about the babble than you, it would seem. Truth hurts, doesn't it? - kidlover69, on 08/22/2008, -8/+31*****? ***** you.
- charm803, on 08/22/2008, -4/+27What's the difference? For one, homosexuality is against the Bible, but pedophilia is actually promoted in the Bible!
Numbers 31:17-18
Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
But all the WOMAN CHILDREN, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourself.
I don't see how two people in a relationship bother YOU. Bitter much? - inactive, on 08/22/2008, -4/+27Get over yourself. No one cares about your opinion or at least Hallmark doesn't. Don't buy the damn cards. If you really have a problem with the presesnse of OMG Gay cards, Shop at "christian" stores or whatever.
- jubwi, on 08/22/2008, -3/+25First of all, being gay isn't a choice. Second, most of us don't care what you call it, as long as we get the same rights as heterosexuals. However, the minute the word "marriage" became part of the law, religion lost the right to decide what it meant in terms of the law. See "separation of church and state". If the word was so important to you, you should have kept it in the church and out of the law books.
- missrubytuesday, on 08/22/2008, -3/+25adoption is a beautiful thing
- Vern58, on 08/22/2008, -2/+24 I am certain Hallmark is shaking with fright, yutz.
