- camelseye, on 05/19/2008, -0/+21That poetry was...well...POWERFUL.
I really enjoyed it!- covertress, on 05/19/2008, -0/+16Glad you liked it. :) - What I enjoyed was the diversity of the themes; much like the gun owners who wrote them, each haiku was different.
- IconoclastStill, on 05/19/2008, -0/+22Outstanding . . . just outstanding. Thanks for the submission.

- punx, on 05/19/2008, -0/+14Now this is my kind of poetry!
- CajunDigg, on 05/19/2008, -0/+11How true it is.
- PappyPapillon, on 05/19/2008, -0/+8Excellent. And a good reminder as to the inevitable outcome of surrendering one's right to exercise the God-given right of self-defense.
- DerangedPenguin, on 05/19/2008, -0/+7This article and digg comments must really upset the Obamamessiah. PappyPapillon mentioned the two most terrifying things in Obama's world Guns and G-d. CajunDigg has to be a "redneck" most likely from the other LA, not the one near Hollywood.
Speaking of the other LA... think I will make up a big pot of Shrimp or Crawfish etouffee for dinner tonight.
- Wolfpack46, on 05/20/2008, -0/+7this was awesome and very inspiring, man. but have to put a somber note to it/sorry/must of you know I do mail down here in LA/the third LA/lower Alabama. I was on one of my routes when I reach the area where I am looking into the play field of one of our middle schools, and the kids are out on break and PE having a time like only kids can, when they feel safe/no care. the realization hit me kind of hard that in the event of an attack against the school it will be the people/militia/the one's with the one opportunity to break the take over and send those bas...... into their much loved hell and their 72 demons. One thing I know, what I have seen happened again and again since 1972, every time the military get in shape and capable the dhimmicrats pass laws to kill it, wonder why. just thinking/I have a lot of family in our schools.

you take away my weapon
you will call me : SLAVE"
History has indeed shown that governments do like to strip the people of their rights to arm themselves first and then is followed by the rest of their existing civil rights. Examples: Hitler, Mussolini, The Romans to their defeated, the English did it to the Scots and so on... - Argentian, on 05/20/2008, -0/+9Very good post, Allison.
- Qong, on 05/20/2008, -0/+6Good post indeed.
It isn't right for people and their politicians to try to take away our rights; rights granted to us by our constitution. It's sad that so many of our fellow Americans apparently feel that it is acceptable to take away our rights as citizens.
Imagine any other group in the United States having their rights taken away by another vocal group?
There would be such an uproar over it, by the very same people that feel it's acceptable to take away Second Amendment rights. There's an insane amount of hypocrisy involved. - PappyPapillon, on 05/20/2008, -0/+6These are not privileges which were granted to us by any king or state. The Bill of Rights is a list of pre-existing, God-given rights, universally recognized as belonging to free men, which were included in the Constitution of The United States of America to ensure that they are and shall always be recognized as pre-existing rights. As far as the second amendment goes, the meaning here is that because of the necessity to maintain a militia to defend against enemies, both foreign and domestic, the pre-exisiting right of arms ownership for defense of self, family, town and nation shall not be infringed. Take away the militia clause and you're still looking at a pre-exisiting, God-given right to keep and bear arms for defense of self, family, town and nation.
I challenge any anti-gun advocate to show me where in the Constitution any federal agent has been granted the privilege to bear a firearm - other than through the personal right recognized by the 2nd amendment. The military, of course, by definition, are granted the privilege and responsibility to bear arms to carry out their function, but there is nothing in the Constitution granting such authority to federal agents. And the 10th amendment demands that such Constitutional authorization be present before the federal government can claim a power for itself. Thus the 2nd amendment is a pre-existing personal right or federal agents, who by definition are not the militia, need to disarm.- SuperVepr308, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1Dead on, my man. These rights are not to be given or taken away by any group or government. Endowed by the Creator. The End.
- covertress, on 05/20/2008, -0/+4N.R.A. members -- Don't miss either the June 2008 issue of American Rifleman or American Hunter magazine. Both feature a fantastic article, "Charlton Heston (1923-2008): A Patriot Lays Down His Arms."
- SuperVepr308, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1I read that article and it was amazing. Truly a great man taken too soon.
