- SemiSarcastic, on 10/11/2008, -2/+7I drive down the street lookin' for gas! Gas lines around block, peeps kickin' some ass! Got my gat and wench ready to make top dolla! Yo I'm SemiSarcastic the original balla! I got little money but everythings cool. My Campbell Noodles stock be goin' through the roof!
- pizpot, on 10/11/2008, -0/+5TIP: monopolies with headquarters in New York and factories in China are the ones failing with the stocks. Who cares? You knew the risk.

- doublefelix, on 10/11/2008, -1/+5"But there just might be a few people feeling bad for you, who are making it cheaper and easier to find something that puts a smile on your face..." Did anyone else click on this thinking it was a story about how hookers were lowering their prices?

- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2Now if we only had jobs to afford this cheap gas
- andreo, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2@Freetalklive
Maybe if they lowered the taxes on gas then we could approach that price. But it will never drop below $2.50 because they know that's a price that nobody will complain about. - audomatix, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2Lower prices for rich people! What a great idea!!! ... wait. Well I guess the majority of opera goers are lower middle class citizens...not.
- GordonFree, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2If prices are so low, then why are Eee PCs so expensive in America, compared to Europe?
Europe: 200 Euros
America: $460 - audomatix, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1Buried by a rich person no doubt...
- DeFex, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2My co that i work for has gone down almost at exact sync with the stock exchange. however the numbers this year are 6 times better than last.
short sellers are destroying perfectly good companies.
Bring back the uptick rule! hang short sellers for treason.(I suspect they are the same individuals who bubbled oil and food futures) - elfuego, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1Don't forget kids -- you only lose money right now if you sell.
Wait it out -- things will turn around. It'll take awhile... but they will. - septicmadman, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1You don't lose money, but you have less leverage assets thus decreasing viable liquidity, which is losing money for all intensive purposes...
- kendawg, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1200 Euros = 265.96 U.S. dollars (google)
- gallito89, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1Lower prices scare me more than the markets dropping ;)
- tacotruck08, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1i wish i could digg u twice
- bipolarruledout, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1I have seen indie shows for free that were as good or better than concerts costing $100+. Of course you don't get smoke and mirrors onstage or nosebleed seats. Try supporting local musicians once in a while.
- algaeturd, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2Must be a really good article if they're making you sign up to read it.
No thanks. - RandomEyes, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1well I dugg it up..sweet, i have a sense of humor! my mom always said I had one but now i know it
- spaceman84, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1Lower prices, until the dollar tanks due to the Fed and Treasury creating hundreds of billions of dollars out of thin air.
- Aurabolt, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your ***** khakis.
- Egoist, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2Another benefit of the financial meltdown is that the Dollar is gaining strength against other currencies. The Dollar has jumped from .63 to .745 against the Euro in just a month.
- ksadya, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1well, yes and no. they came close around 1938 (if I recall correctly). The ups and downs were pretty bad, sure, but if you bought in '33, you'd be rich in 38, and even richer in 53 -- better than even! Waiting it out is what you do with the money you've already lost. Getting rich is what you'll do if you buy... provided the government isn't shut down, and business suspended.
- ksadya, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1$3.99 where I live (Hilo, HI).
- ksadya, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1you shoulda added quotes
- FreeTalkLIve, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1That's still too high. You all have been brainwashed into thinking $3.00 is a good deal.
The ***** should be no more than $1.65. - KampfGherkin, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1The problem with that is, when's the next bubble gonna occur and where? So when is your hard-earned money investment gonna get wiped out again, in other words?
Market collapses have become increasingly frequent in the last 20-30 years or so (70's US recession, Asia crisis of the 90's, Dot-com bubble, etc). And I'm fairly convinced that such market failures are inherent to any fiat currency based system.
To my mind, only central bankers truly profit from this and the associated market collapses and anybody trying to get in on the groundfloor of what is essentially a pyramid scheme (fiat currency versus intrinsic value) is gonna be outgunned. (And bankers have been increasing their ownership of the world to stupendous levels in the last tens of years, I reckon.)
For as they say about casinos, in the long run the bank always wins. :| - Nice2BHere, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2I thought maybe this article was about lower food, clothing or gas prices. Broadway shows and Opera? WHO CARES!!!!!
- minorgods, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1that's what she said
- emazur, on 10/11/2008, -0/+0I guess the problem is there is more than one model of the Eee pc. On Target's website they have this for $299:
http://www.target.com/ASUS-8-9-Netbook-Computer-Li ...
If it's the same as the ones I saw at the store or not I don't know - GordonFree, on 10/11/2008, -1/+1Why are they so expensive on newegg then?
And why were you dugg down? -
