- Nar1117, on 03/25/2009, -1/+12We've seen every. Single. Picture.
We KNOW what it looks like.
Please no more. Please? This is the 4th time on Digg. - GroundIsSound, on 03/25/2009, -3/+12Who doesn't love some good high speed photography
- Dismember, on 03/25/2009, -0/+8dug for the razor blade picture

- inactive, on 03/25/2009, -1/+7Uh oh, Digg just discovered objects hitting things. Get ready for the next mountain goat floods.
- helluvaguy, on 03/25/2009, -3/+9This has made it to the front page of digg like 3 times this week. WE GET IT. Things look cooler when its taken with a high speed camera. ENOUGH.
- andritchie, on 03/25/2009, -2/+8The razor blade one is crazy! Mythbusters anyone?
- RumpleForeskin3, on 03/25/2009, -0/+5Where does on find a Christmas ornament filled with sprinkles?
- sameer768, on 03/25/2009, -0/+5bullets hitting mountain goats at high speeds?
hmm....
brb - augment, on 03/25/2009, -2/+7You can see the lasers used to trigger the camera in some of the shots.
All I want is to have frickin' cameras with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads. - Frezzle, on 03/25/2009, -1/+6Thank you for not saying bullet or bb gun.
- ausfahrt, on 03/25/2009, -1/+5Seeing it twist out of the other side of the jello was awesome. The razor blade one was also unreal. At first i didnt know what i was looking at, then it got me. Totally rad set of pics. Considering this stuff has been done to death, these were very refreshing.
//Apparently they were only refreshing the first time on digg, i must have missed them. - Cancerkitty, on 03/25/2009, -2/+5That tomato got it's ass kicked!
- redux2redux, on 03/25/2009, -0/+3or orange jelly? #7

- androothebear, on 03/25/2009, -0/+2like cats! (see more recent digg articles...)
- ptsuk, on 03/25/2009, -1/+3Lead pellet vs Steel Razor blade pretty simple to realize which one wins here.
- Bilbobaggins, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1The turtles from Comcast's commercials.
- marcb83, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1you take the picture in the dark leave the shutter open then the only thing seen is the split second the flash goes off. I did some of this in high school with a sound trigger instead of a laser, go some really cool pictures of breaking light bulbs.
- RandomNetUser, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1I have a genuine question: I know relatively little when it comes to professional photography... but what is the difference between using a high-speed flash like this guy or just leaving a constant bright light on the subject of the shot and using a high-speed shutter? Does it prevent oversaturation of light to film or something?
- Spartan61, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1I love this stuff.
- Frankttank, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1There's no way this guy has a job. waaaaay too much time on his hands. but thats a kick ass waste of time!
- alski707, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1The fastest shutters buildable today “only” go to as fast as 1/8000th of a second, on most DSLR’s the fastest available speed is usually 1/2000-4000th, the article says his custom built strobe/flash is 1-millionth of a second, pretty damn incredible (and makes me curious how easy it is to build one)
There are some other general advantages to using the flash method, such as not having to have ridiculous kilowatts of lighting to get enough light for extremely fast shutter speeds, and because when trying to stop-motion very fast moving objects using a moving shutter, the top of the image will get exposed very slightly later than the bottom of the image causing a distortion like this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Focal_plane_shutter - flyingsquirle, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1Whoa, the picture of the clear ornament filled with water is intense. I love how you can see all the cracks and shards break off, while still holding its rudimentary shape.
- waleedo, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1Pretty damn neat!
- DrDetox, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Why are things being shot so bloody cool! I have never seen footage like that that was insane.
- andritchie, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1I mostly just want to see it on the high speed cameras!
- 4rp4n3t, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1Look again. In the further away half you can clearly see the indentation in the back of the pellet. Why is it so hard to believe that it was cut in half anyway? I used to cut air rifle pellets in half with a comparatively blunt knife as a kid...
- RudeTurnip, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1Number 5 looks like JFK.
- illlookforit, on 03/28/2009, -0/+1i hadn't seen them yet.
- Remelox, on 03/26/2009, -0/+1Me, that was my paintball.
- ookamiwarrior, on 03/26/2009, -0/+1Strawberry fields forever ...
- BlueCadenza, on 03/25/2009, -2/+2Its actually slow speed photography with a high-speed strobe. Just incase anyone is wondering "how do I get my camera to do that?"
- lolwutpear, on 03/25/2009, -0/+0Anyone else have an urge to play Goldeneye with paintball mode turned on?
- SpookyDIGG, on 03/25/2009, -1/+1I agree its like this guy as a buddy with some pull at Digg
- valeryjean, on 03/29/2009, -0/+0I found this fascinating and surprised at the other snidey remarks..........
- thunked, on 03/25/2009, -1/+1Find it hard to believe the pellet was cut in half... looks like a shadow of the pellet on the wall. He missed.
- greenprint, on 03/25/2009, -2/+2This is your brain. This is your brain on drugs.
- danr2c2, on 03/25/2009, -2/+1Seen it... NEXT!
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 03/25/2009, -4/+2Yes, some of these have been on Digg before, but this time they're all together in one complete set with little bits of info and sourced to the creator. Dugg.
- GreenMushroom16, on 03/25/2009, -4/+0Everything is cooler in the matrix.
