- sindex, on 05/04/2009, -1/+37That was a really uninformative article about Kryptos. I feel like I read that before.
That was a really uninformative article about Kryptos. I feel like I read that before. - funkyloki, on 05/04/2009, -1/+21So nice, I read it twice, without even trying.
- jhourcle, on 05/04/2009, -0/+17You're not alone ... I'm guessing that whoever copy & pasted this from some other site accidentally hit 'paste' twice.
Is it wrong to bury it as 'duplicate story' ? - FoodIsRude, on 05/04/2009, -2/+15The last section has been solved, it reads:
We're no strangers to love
You know the rules and so do I
A full commitment's what I'm thinking of
You wouldn't get this from any other guy
I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Strange.... I wonder what it could mean? - ryansmith18, on 05/04/2009, -0/+10Must be nice to make money off of a blog that steals stories from Wired.
Not saying it was plagarism, but if any of you subscribe to Wired magazine like I do, I'm sure you noticed that this article reveals the exact same info as the most recent issue.
Of course Wired didn't go to such silly lengths as trying to relate it to Angels & Demons. - xiambax, on 05/04/2009, -0/+10The Key to K4 is the structure. S!
- mrshickadance9, on 05/04/2009, -0/+9Wow. that was a really poorly written article.
- Balanced, on 05/04/2009, -2/+11As long as it keeps them from trying to turn Dan Brown's "Digital Fortress" into a movie. Despite being about cryptography and computer security it managed to combine almost every stereotypical Hollywood misunderstanding of the subject in a book so bad it actually made me think less of Angels & Demons (Which was otherwise pretty good). It made me wonder if his research into obscure religious history was as bad as his cryptography research.
- zzzpoohzzz, on 05/04/2009, -1/+10FTA: A game at www.thedavincicode.com suggested that Kryptos is a clue to the subject of Mr. Brown's as-yet-unpublished next novel, "The Solomon Key."
its talking about an upcoming book... not the movie coming out - Jordan117, on 05/04/2009, -1/+8No. In fact, the creator of Kryptos is rather annoyed at the idea:
"Brown included pieces of Kryptos on the book jacket of The Da Vinci Code and has hinted that his next novel will draw on the CIA sculpture, a prospect that deeply annoys Sanborn."
http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/magazine/ ...
So, Brown might find a way to wind a fictional version of Kryptos into his novel, but the real thing won't help solve the story -- especially when the fourth panel has gone unsolved for several decades. - Ghostalker, on 05/04/2009, -2/+9No.
- cowboy86, on 05/04/2009, -0/+6Yea, I thought it was pretty obvious also.
- 7m7uf, on 05/04/2009, -0/+6No, that was a poorly copied and pasted article.
- bsonline, on 05/04/2009, -0/+6did i read it wrong, or did the article repeat itself after it ended?
- Crosshare, on 05/04/2009, -0/+5Amen to that and what is with all the misdirected hate towards the EFF in that book?
- Neiby, on 05/04/2009, -0/+4But it might also be a clue. The misspelling might serve multiple purposes.
- algorythm, on 05/04/2009, -2/+6Why are you idiots digging this stolen article?
- Neiby, on 05/04/2009, -0/+4Same here, but that probably means that those really smart cryptographers have already thought of it, too.
- roosterjm2k2, on 05/04/2009, -0/+4You can say that again.
- gordigor, on 05/04/2009, -1/+5That's is a clue.
- blorc, on 05/04/2009, -1/+5When you decode the 4th line, it says: YOU ARE FAGS.
- costpercopy, on 05/04/2009, -0/+4it is a deliberate mis-spelling of illusion. It is meant to make the code harder to crack.
- kingmanic, on 05/04/2009, -0/+4All the books were pretty bad accuracy wise. Dan brown doesn't believe in research but does believe in misleading forewords suggesting he does research. Seriously the very first page of angel and demons basically summed up Dan browns inability to do any research. It's so wrong that it makes my inner pedant thirst for blood.

- kiwimonk, on 05/04/2009, -0/+4The seemingly duplicate text is actually different..
The latest scramble was set off by "The Da Vinci Code," the worldwide bestseller about a modern-day search for the Holy Grail.

A game at www.thedavincicode.com suggests that Kryptos is a clue to the subject of Mr. Brown's as-yet-unpublished next novel - AndrewDB, on 05/04/2009, -1/+4Digital Fortress was such a ***** book.
- BoneStamp, on 05/04/2009, -0/+3We believe it is an intentional misspelling of "ILLUSION". Words are often misspelled in cryptography to combat letter frequency attacks and common double letter combination patterns. The Q may also act as a clue or part of key to the unsolved part of the code.
- inactive, on 05/04/2009, -0/+3Possibly, or maybe the misspelling of illusion is actually a compound word with a real meaning. IQ + ILLUSION, the illusion of intelligence? Just a thought.
- termerjur, on 05/04/2009, -0/+3^ This is also a clue...as was that.
- eugenecp, on 05/04/2009, -0/+3it did.
it did. - scarwars, on 05/04/2009, -0/+3pictures of Kryptos
http://www.voynich.net/Kryptos/ - raynar, on 05/04/2009, -2/+4Maybe they should have made a VB interface to track the hackers...
- cowboy86, on 05/04/2009, -0/+2I find that sometimes even the most intelligent people tend to over complicate things.
- Malarie, on 05/04/2009, -0/+2hahaha.
- mattsull, on 05/05/2009, -0/+2Wow. That's a really poorly written comment
- MadHarvey, on 05/04/2009, -0/+2@rooster
Care to back that up with any sort of factual example?
In the technical community, (i.e those that actually know what the ***** they are talking about) you'd be hard pressed to find anyone say something bad about the EFF. They are ***** amazing.
PETA on the other hand... - sinkhead, on 05/04/2009, -0/+2Maybe it's a code.
- mongrel, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1Or maybe because it's shaped like the letter "S"
- evergrim, on 05/05/2009, -0/+1That's the first thing I thought of too, that it was shaped like an S. It can't be that obvious though.
Maybe it finally leads to the location of a secret underground alien reptile base. - URnotheonly1, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1former Director Webster, said that it was philosophical and obscure."
- PunkyFeople, on 05/05/2009, -0/+1Sometimes you've got a tight deadline and a word count that has to be met.
- yearofglad, on 05/05/2009, -2/+3Like ***** Dan Brown can decode jack *****. Dude's books are awful.
- funkyloki, on 05/05/2009, -0/+1Ty diocles777. You are right. Our genius has shown.
- Malarie, on 05/08/2009, -0/+1Sorry, my english is not perfect. Ma langue maternelle est le Francais.
- URnotheonly1, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1well he said a huge clue was right out in the open. Dose anyone else notice the whole upside down flag look, with the wooden pole broken at the bottom
- PlusTheBear, on 05/04/2009, -1/+2lulz you wrote it didn't you
- mrshickadance9, on 05/06/2009, -0/+1no, malarie. I am however someone that passed college English and I know how to write an article.
- ericjbolt, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1My guess is that the light that pierces through the letters holds a clue... "Light of Truth" or "Light of Knowledge" ... Anyway, cool story.
- Ebacherville, on 05/05/2009, -0/+1thats what i though.. however i doubt its that easy..
