- manata, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4Who says giving away content for free ultimately detracts from sales? I've been subscribed to Sigler's feed since Earthcore, and still have purchased more Sigler-swag than any other author. Wake up Big Publishing, this is what the future of your industry looks like.
- mutant, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4Hail Pope Siglarisimo!
- worldofhiglet, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3I heard about Mr Sigler when the Buffy: Between the Lines (B:BtL) website highlighted the FREE DOWNLOAD of his book, Infected, that was available before the hardback release. Well, I like staring at a computer screen as much as the next geek but Infected had me hooked so I had to buy the book. It's earthy, shocking and so pacy it'll take your breath away.
I've never really been into podcasts but the B:BtL podcasts and Mr Sigler's have changed my mind. This is a new way of doing things but giving it away for free doesn't lessen it's value. When you have a quality product people will buy it, and buy into it. Infected sits in my bookcase looking menacing and enticing, just as it should. Once you've heard the podcasts you'll want to scare your kids with a copy, just like me.
Try Mr Sigler's website: http://www.scottsigler.com/
And while you're online check out Buffy: Between the Lines, too: http://buffybetweenthelines.com/
Remember, you don't need an iPod to listen to podcasts (yes, I thought that too a first - just don't tell my geek friends....) - bpende, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3"Digital Dickens" ... dude... With press like this coming from across the pond, this is high praise indeed.
- darkcompass, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3Earthcore was the first, joined right from the beginning. I have his books, all I need now is the Barnes Jersey!
- madamruppy, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3I discovered Mr. Sigler through his podcasts and now buy his print books.
- Selganor, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2I already bought two Sigler books (Infected and german translation of Earthcore) and will buy the german translation of Infected, too later this year. And that's just because I already know how good they are because I listened to them for free.
- coop925, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Nocturnal has got me TOTALLY hooked... and now I'm in to Infected... I'm gonna have to find the rest of them... somehow.
All hail the Generalisimo! - breakall, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1All of Sigler's stuff rawks! I've been listening since he released the first podcast-only novel, Earthcore, back in 2005, and have been hooked ever since. Others have come along to podcast quality work as well but Sigler is the original! O.J. represent! :-D
- DigW, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1This guy is not the new Charles Dickens and the chances are that he will not win a 'booker prize' but . ... hats off to the man;
He has made many a long car journey totally enjoyable. Great stories, great story telling and the audio quality is spot on.
I run the risk here of sounding like a 'Junky,' a term used by the author to describe his fan base.
Download any of his pod-casts they are free, but .. .. . be warned they are very, very addictive there is no going back. .. .
For the record I would also like to add a statement which appears to be a tradition among his many listeners:
F*** U Sigler . .
yep ya got me :-) - bjcampbell, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1I have listened to all of Scott's Audiobooks up to this point, and his stuff is great. I listening to them has led me to buying Ancestor, Earthcore and Infected. Read my review of Infected at: http://books.bjsea.org/2008/06/infected-novel.html
- gocyclones, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1Sigler's podcasts rock! I've listened to everything he's put out and it's all quality stuff. I've also purchased all of his books to contribute back to the cause.
- DaniFilth, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1Hail the FDO! Check out Scott's work in print and his podcasts.
- random111, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1Dude. Siggy is awesome. I've been following him since the beginning of his podcasting career. I am an original Junkie.
- cwbrown, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1I first heard about Scott in an interview he did on the podcast, This Week in Science, on April 1st.
