cook a car in 15 seconds .. im sure a turkey would take less
plus.. read what it says...
# Cook at 450 degrees for ninety minutes.
# Turn temperature down to 350 degrees and cook for ninety minutes more. DO NOT open the oven during the cooking. - apastafarian, on 11/28/2008, -0/+5I guess in cooking math 90 + 90 = 90 ?
I wonder if the author is legally liable for all the fires that will occur with this method? Have a good fire extinguisher handy. Unless you have a really small flat turkey, or a unusually tall oven, you're going to need it..
BTW, the "secret" to a great turkey is not in the cooking method, it's in the brine! - lilamae, on 11/27/2008, -0/+4Yes, it's an hour and a half bird! Still, sounds interesting. Must try this technique. I think butter would be best. . .hmmm.
- TheMandibleClaw, on 11/28/2008, -0/+4Deep fry that sucker!
- JuliaXV, on 11/27/2008, -0/+3Hmmmm, interesting idea. Even though I don't see that much difference from the usual way...
- fluidfoundation, on 11/28/2008, -0/+3Brine, couldnt agree more. Ginger, Black Peppercorns, broth, salt and brown sugar. Works every time.
- bananasluggy, on 11/28/2008, -0/+3Our turkey came out great this year. Dad wrapped it in fat, stuck spices under the fat and then smoked it in our kamado outside.
Super juicy, smoky flavor, and with a nice spice kick to it. :D - idc5, on 11/27/2008, -0/+2gobble gobble
