"Censorship and You" - How does censorship affect you? watch!
revver.com — A dark and somewhat disturbing satire on the shortcomings of censorship and how it inhibits freedom of expression. Plays off of the cookie-cutter template used in older propaganda films. WARNING: This video contains an abundance of political incorrectness. Watch with an open mind.

It's a shame people that even people on Digg don't understand who the real enemy is.
Brainwashing is used to keep the American people enslaved.
Brainwashing is used to keep the American people from realizing their freedom has been taken away.
Brainwashing is used to keep the American people from realizing that the elections are rigged in so many ways.
The media and the United States Government hate your freedom, and they are doing something about it.- AngelBunny, on 05/22/2008, -1/+3the reason you're being dugg down is because of this
"It's a shame people that even people on Digg don't understand who the real enemy is."
Most of the people here agree with you to an extent but by saying that then well.. even people who agree with you will digg you down. After all, there are more liberal orientated people in this country than conservatives aka there are more people who want freedom over morals, but apparently no one on digg is that way? it is quite the opposite.- renzien, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1"liberal orientated people in this country than conservatives aka there are more people who want freedom over morals"
The political spectrum isn't quite the way you think it is:

- ironmodulus, on 05/22/2008, -0/+7Our last source of uncensored media: the internet. I don't even bother watching TV or listening to the radio anymore. They're all practically government-run media sources.
- UrSerbianBuddy, on 05/22/2008, -2/+2Yeah, good thing we have unbiased sources such as digg.
- BlackholeStorm, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2The internet is not limited to digg, genious. Even though most of it's crap seems to wash up here.
- UrSerbianBuddy, on 05/22/2008, -1/+0Just making an observation. Take it easy.
- justinx0r, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1Genius.

- redback, on 05/22/2008, -1/+13i fail to see how that had anything to do with censorship. Perhaps an ascetic driven sociological form of censorship but not the bureaucratic one that is plaguing our society today. It seemed more intent on poking fun at the current Jesus trend then dealing with either of the rating boards or government institutions that have the ability to censor and destroy the air waves.
- markormesher, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1I think this may have been made for a 48 Hour Film Project, seeing as it's PSA (one of the genres) and around the time limit (4-7 mins). Anyone know if it is?
- s4g4n, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1Digged for reading a Carl Sagan.
- geogeer, on 05/22/2008, -1/+6Lame... correction, pathetic and lame.

- RevinKoze, on 05/22/2008, -1/+5Censorship doesn't affect me as much as other people....I get off on black bars.

- kingofnexus, on 05/22/2008, -4/+11That was the most boring video I have ever watched - it tried to be funny and witty, but it failed miserably.
- Mubuntu, on 05/22/2008, -1/+0Buried for boring as *#@*
- galvo, on 05/22/2008, -1/+2It's so annoying that the FCC cares so much about curse words. It's like we're not mature enough to hear "*****" on cable television, and that we have to pay for premium channels just to hear some cursing!
I could care less about cursing, but it's lame that we miss out on good shows (like Trailer Park Boys) because they're full of foul language.
And it's annoying how Top Gear is censored on BBC America. Lame.- danogburn, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1I think it's just a way for media outlets to make money. Pay more for the raunchy unrated versions of things.
- zenithmbr, on 05/22/2008, -3/+4buried for lack of stimulating content
- Todamont, on 05/22/2008, -1/+3***** you Lynn Cheney, ***** you Tipper Gore.
- acevoncash, on 05/22/2008, -3/+4i don't know if they are trying to say thats what its like today or thats what the country is coming to.... but I think in moderation, censorship is OK. I don't want my childrien to kill innocent civilians in a video game, or learn how to say mother ***** bitch ass.. at least not until they are in middle school or perhaps a bit later. I don't think there is anything wrong with censoring radio and tv on public airwaves, because its so readily accessible. Its not like you can't access uncensored content.. There is freedom of speech in this country, but you can't hinder someone elses rights in the process. just like you can't yell fire in a crowded room. Censorship causes blindness is addage that rings very true, but I think you have to work your way in with certain kinds of content. Otherwise you end up with 6 year olds on xbox live that cuss you out and grow up to have a sense of entitlement.. people who care about no one else other than themselves.
- danogburn, on 05/22/2008, -1/+2The problem is having others decide what is obscene or offensive. Everyone's tolerance level is different. Viewing such material does not infringe on anyone's rights. Denying the ability to does however. As for growing up with a sense of entitlement, thats nothing a good ass whoopin can't fix.
- TrevorBelmont, on 05/22/2008, -1/+2I disagree with everything you just said. Video games have a rating system that should be sufficient if you are parenting properly. TV has a rating system and a V-chip to ensure that you don't even need to be in the room with your kids to keep them away from "negative" content.
If you feel these solutions are insufficient at protecting your children you have every right to get rid of your TV and game console. You say "you can't hinder someone elses(sic) rights in the process [of free speech]" while you place the perceived rights of your children's ahead of artists and audiences. There is already a way to protect your kids from the TV. Don't own one. No where in The Constitution does it even imply that you can enjoy the creative works of others with your family and not be offended. It's not our collective job to shelter your children from damaging influence, that's your burden.
Most importantly, I do not trust anyone; not you, not the FCC, not the government not the media to make the decisions of what is and is not appropriate for the public to hear and see. The idea of this empowerment being abused is not a slippery slope, it is a certainty. - AlphabetPal, on 05/22/2008, -1/+1> in moderation, censorship is OK
How about *you* decide what *you* want your kids to see, and *I'll* decide what *I* want my kids to see rather than the government deciding what anybody can see? How about that?
- FFandMMfan, on 05/22/2008, -1/+5**** censorship of any kind!
- TrevorBelmont, on 05/22/2008, -1/+2I found the pacing was too slow, the sound production too distracting (background music should be in the background, not the voice over) and the tone to be snotty and preachy to the extent that even when I agreed with the message I was offended by their enlightened, self righteousness.
I was also forced to wonder if the film makers were unaware that CDs didn't exist in 1953. - bubbatubba, on 05/22/2008, -0/+4this is a little too drastic a representation of censorship even in the 50's
- kitsua, on 05/22/2008, -3/+3I'm sorry, but that video was incredibly poor quality, badly written, badly made and the so-called "satire" was pathetic.
Feels good to bury a story once in a while, I suppose.- beloitpiper, on 05/22/2008, -1/+3Yeah, I don't like censorship, but this video was just poorly made. Why was the main guy all shiny? And somebody needed to fix the sound levels.
- Freckled, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1they almost had me with those "cranberry muffin" and "chocolate chip pancakes" writings... i think they got to my subconsciousness (sarcasm)
- Paulish, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1This video addresses something more heinous than government censorship. Anti-intellectualism, Like the kind in Fahrenheit 451.
"It didn't come from the Government down. There was no dictum, no declaration, no censorship, to start with, no! Technology, mass exploitation, and minority pressure carried the trick, thank God. Today, thanks to them, you can stay happy all the time, you are allowed to read comics, the good old confessions, or trade-journals." -Bradbury, Ray - Fahrenheit 451 - KEVIN167, on 05/22/2008, -0/+3that was a terrible waste of 4 minutes
- funkymoose, on 05/23/2008, -0/+1People say there shouldn't be any censorship, but when you think about it, would you want your kids being taught creationist books in school?
- KidAirbag, on 05/23/2008, -0/+1Congrats John and Ross on getting dugg! =)

Lenny Bruce said it best: "Take away the right to say "*****", and you take a way the right to say "***** the Government"."
