- krytz86, on 10/06/2008, -3/+9Subliminal advertising at its finest. Get people to associate visual pleasure with smoke.
- Mujokan, on 10/06/2008, -1/+6Some beautiful photos.
Turbulence is a deep subject. Wave dynamics, chaos theory, and the rest.
But mostly it makes me want to learn to blow smoke rings like Jerry Ferrera in Entourage, or all those guys in LOTR. (Jerry Ferrera might make a good hobbit.) - themastersb, on 10/06/2008, -0/+4Some of these pictures had fog, not smoke. Buried as innacurrate.
- passedoutghost, on 10/06/2008, -0/+4Too bad the photographers don't post the high res shots.
- theadvinci, on 10/06/2008, -0/+3And kids... Remember. Smoking is bad for your lungs, but good for your photos.
- coolgizmoz, on 10/06/2008, -1/+3i clicked one too
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -0/+2Depends on what you're smoking...
- maybemable, on 10/06/2008, -0/+2I literally just had my "last" cigarette after my lunch. I'm onto you, Digg.
- webkami, on 10/06/2008, -3/+5Smoking!

YEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHH - FastZ, on 10/06/2008, -0/+2Clouds are smoke too...apparently.
- Eqxy, on 10/06/2008, -0/+2I honestly think that one of the reasons I have a hard time not smoking is because smoke is so aesthetically pleasing. Maybe I should just start burning things.
- Cottrell36thAIR, on 10/06/2008, -1/+3Screen shots or it didn't happen
- slothwrangler, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1no smoke and mirrors for you
- JackpotCity, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1to me it also looked like the top of a bottle.
- painting, on 10/06/2008, -1/+2and the smoke are from incense. Which is why they have such volume.
- mattycoze, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1lol.
- beanwell, on 10/07/2008, -0/+1Smoke and long exposures of water are 2 different things.
- FLarsen, on 10/06/2008, -1/+2It *is* the top of a bottle, but they put dry ice in it.

http://www.openlist.com/valencia-ca_mission-renais ... - rancidpony, on 10/07/2008, -0/+1^ Sadly the above comment does not appear to be sarcasm.
Dude. They are pretty pictures Does everything have to be a vigilante smoke ban campaign? Anti-smoking lobbies are like the new McCarthyism out on witch hunts for anything having to do with smoke. - abadjay, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1mirror!?
- MarkRebuck, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1I did a writeup on my approach to smoke photography a while ago... http://www.markrebuck.com/photography/smoke2006061 ...
Seeing this thread makes me want to go back and try it again. I have a few new ideas after looking at the pictures in the article. - OneLess, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1In regard to the one labeled "italian meatball," I think they could have gotten a much more interesting photo out of that. You can get all sorts of interesting vortices and flow patterns out of flow over a sphere.
- Glo0, on 10/06/2008, -1/+1i just associate anything with smoking.
If having a snout in your gob doesnt make it better, then ***** it give up and have a fag - h3lx, on 10/06/2008, -3/+3What a brilliant submission... beautifully on on page and each image links off to a whole new set of images from the source host.
- DaMaZter, on 10/06/2008, -1/+1Anybody else's nicotine patch suddenly stopped working?
- Rewdog, on 10/06/2008, -1/+1Pollution can be pretty!
- dubious, on 10/06/2008, -1/+1I need a smoke
- Pharcyde036, on 10/09/2008, -0/+0Smoke's beauty is just stunning...too bad none of someone blowing some ill smoke rings. Bilbo and Gandalf style.
- Funkleft, on 10/06/2008, -1/+1SMOKE AND FRACTALS ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS
- kaythekay, on 10/08/2008, -0/+0Smoke, fog, whatever - I did see something, of course, but am pretty sure it's not what the artist intended me to see. Or maybe they did and I'm the only one getting it, hooray!
I'm pretty sure you also only see butterflies and hearts when looking at Rorschach inkblots.. Aww. - justimaginenot, on 10/06/2008, -3/+2this makes me wanna smoke something and blow rings
- mcleaver, on 10/06/2008, -2/+1How much did the tobacco industry pay for the publicity?
- hnazareth16, on 10/06/2008, -5/+4Whoa -- Ibai's is amazing! The green smoke and surreal sky are incredible.
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -4/+2Great pics :)
- jggube, on 10/06/2008, -4/+2The first picture made me so thirsty, I had the sudden urge to grab a cold long-neck out of the fridge. I was dismayed that smoke didn't spill out when I opened it though! :(
