- alankem, on 01/13/2009, -0/+31What's with the thumbnail of Obama? We already know he won't do a damn thing to legalize it.
- Mudbeast, on 01/13/2009, -1/+31Each day that goes by where it is still a crime for me to light up in the privacy of my own home is another day where my basic rights are continuing to not be upheld.
- rvandy, on 01/12/2009, -7/+36Sane drug policy? Sounds like a pinko commie plot to me.
- redgiemental, on 01/12/2009, -1/+26Good may we move quickly towards a sane approach.
- yocouchdigga, on 01/12/2009, -1/+22FTW.
Now if only the rest of the country could get in line... - mhmandthen, on 01/13/2009, -0/+16Seems as if your abstinence from cannabis hasn't made you any more intelligent.
Meanwhile, I just smoked two bowls.
Which one of us is writing correct sentences? - treas, on 01/13/2009, -0/+15dude you must've been so high writing that.

No victim, no crime. - Garofoli, on 01/13/2009, -0/+13Still $500? That's a ton! Isn't it like a $100 fine in some places?
- conna, on 01/13/2009, -0/+12As the federal gov keeps getting out of touch with America, you will see more state and local gov. standing up once again for themselves.
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+12i live in colorado, weeds pretty much legal here, the cops dont mess with you about it as long as you dont get stupid, thing is just about every job wants a drug test and even if you have a prescription to smoke weed which is pretty easy to get you can still fail a wizz quiz and get fired.
- sjbdallas, on 01/12/2009, -1/+12...checks google for quickest route to Federal Heights......
- hbyrne, on 01/12/2009, -1/+12Glad they kept their priorities straight and voted on the winners of the holiday lighting contest before getting to this item down on the agenda.
- MadPooter, on 01/13/2009, -0/+9Wouldn't you rather go to Lakewood, where if you get caught smoking marijuana it's only a $100 fine?
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+9Better than 2to5 in upstate...
- MorganMghee, on 01/13/2009, -0/+7Clearer than ever before, I can see the hem crops on American soil. Providing sustainable fuel, food, clothing and building materials along with jobs, clean water and air.
- r0g3r, on 01/13/2009, -0/+7Yep, I met some dudes from Colorado at a gig here in New Orleans, and they came outside wanting to smoke out the band. I had to turn them down due to the cameras in the club courtyard, but they didn't care about that and went ahead without me. They said their cavalier attitude was because of the fact that it's nearly legal in Colorado. I tried to warn them that this isn't Colorado, Louisiana is one of the most backwards states in the country.
- joaob, on 01/13/2009, -0/+7$100 in Massachusetts and cops have thus yet refused to enforce it.
- farfromhere, on 01/13/2009, -0/+6I wonder if he's noticed yet that the overwhelming majority of his comments on digg have been buried into oblivion....
He should probably just quit the internet. - joellyjoel, on 01/13/2009, -0/+6Good old Colorado, you can posses guns and weed for minimal hassle...
- alapoet, on 01/12/2009, -1/+7Finally, a town that doesn't want to harsh our buzz.
- dburanen, on 01/13/2009, -0/+6Or anywhere else in CO where it's only $100. http://norml.org/index.cfm?wtm_view=&Group_ID= ...
Stupid article acting like Federal Heights is progressive. - censormagnet, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5thats a start
now legalize it
why are plants illegal? - enantiodromia, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5wow. just wow.
- dburanen, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5It is Ridiculous!!! Colorado state law is $100 for under an oz.
http://norml.org/index.cfm?wtm_view=&Group_ID= ... - julesbond007, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5I'm not a smoker, but Massachusetts always leads the way, so everyone should follow us: no criminal charges plus the cops don't care anymore. This will bring money to the economy and people will be happier and less stressed out.
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+4because this world is ***** up

- Elderon, on 01/13/2009, -0/+4syntaxgs,you're so full of *****.
Your friend did not get his lungs gunked up with pot I can tell you that much. Either your friend bought stuff with tons of ***** added in or it wasn't pot.syntaxgs - inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+4if you ever get back up here look me up and i will "tell" you about some kick ass liquid hash.....
- Navicerts, on 01/13/2009, -0/+483% of statistics made up on the spot are incorrect.
- ceredron, on 01/13/2009, -0/+4baby steps, brothers, baby steps.
You gotta repeal the grandfather clause before you can get Brown vs. the Board.
... in retrospect, not to even compare the civil rights movement to decriminalization (two very different struggles), but you get my drift. - inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+4Less than 100 grams in Ohio is a $100 fine.
- K4Lic0, on 01/13/2009, -0/+4Isn't this town fairly behind compared to the rest of CO? I'm just glad pot is decriminalized here, you're golden unless you're selling.
- Sakumi, on 01/13/2009, -0/+4Yea I went to Denver and located .. er.. "heard" about it fairly easily. "Heard" it was nice quality too..
- Ganesh420, on 01/13/2009, -0/+4Also only a $100 fine for less than an ounce here in Nebraska. Possession of over an ounce and less than 1 pound is only punishable by $500 fine and/or 7 days in jail, maximum. When I was sentenced for possession (>1 ounce <1 pound, I only had to sit in jail for 1 weekend...I got caught up on my reading ;P
- r0g3r, on 01/13/2009, -0/+4A step in the right direction.
- Opiate, on 01/13/2009, -0/+3Sounds like liberty to me.
- rrasco, on 01/13/2009, -0/+3Just another reason they need to legalize it so we can get more potent and pure strains which are less harmful to us than 'street drugs'.
- GorGenator, on 01/13/2009, -0/+3And that my friends, is why Colorado is the greatest state in the world..
- adampolselli, on 01/13/2009, -0/+3Psh. In Ann Arbor, Michigan, the penalty for first-time possession is a $25 civil-infraction fine.
- DrLeePhD, on 01/13/2009, -0/+2I think you just make an anthem...
- Frankyfan3, on 01/13/2009, -0/+2“The greatest service which can be rendered any country is to add a useful plant to its culture." -Thomas Jefferson
- mtuttle, on 01/13/2009, -0/+2Thats still too harsh. Check out the laws in Ann Arbor, Michigan!
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marijuana_laws_in_Ann ... - Talphin, on 01/13/2009, -0/+2Did you know that Alcohol and Tobacco are bad for you too? Did you also know that just about anything with cholesterol and trans fats are also bad for you? Lets not forget how many people die from simply driving a car, or walking on a sidewalk...
If we outlawed things JUST because they were potentially "bad for us", there would hardly be anything left for us to have or do. So why include marijuana?
Marijuana was not outlawed for it's so called "dangerous" side effects. It was outlawed to keep Mexicans and Blacks in check. Literally.
Don't you think we are over all of that ***** already?
I don't need a babysitter or a dictator running my life. I need freedom. Outlawing how I use a plant on myself is NOT freedom. - secrity, on 01/13/2009, -0/+2Wasn't it a Republican president, I believe that it was Reagan, who started the "War on Drugs"?
- td001, on 01/13/2009, -0/+2how about NO fine. :)
- AngryBacon, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2He said true Republicanism. AKA not Reagan.
