    From the videos (since I don't know the language I am just speculating) I would assume that much of the heckling was because she was being led away by police. It's like in elementary school when someone is called to the principals office and everyone goes, "Ooooooo, someone's in trouble!"

    She had to be escorted out of the university by the police. After a few days the university decided to expel her reasoning that she was not dressed properly. Now there's a lot of controversy about the decision and they might be forced to accept her back. She's suing the university (a crappy one by the way).

    She became some sort of celebrity, all around the news and the interwebs.

    I have no idea how this happened. I went to university in Brazil, lived my whole life there and never saw anything like this. I would expect people to whistle and turn their necks to watch her, but I never saw this kind of hysteria over a mini-skirt (or anything else for that matter).

    So it's ok if you are a naked woman parading down the street being broadcasted live to the whole country, but not if you are sitting at the beach sunbathing topless. Go figure.

    Chances are you will see a million more boobs during Mardi Gras than carnival in Rio.
