- thepicklebot, on 02/24/2009, -1/+13Incredible images, I joined this group!
- pkon, on 02/25/2009, -0/+10The best image in my opinion is the one where the the statue is holding a white flower in his hand and it's just gracefully falling down.
- oep4, on 02/25/2009, -0/+6there are a few nice ones. i liked the movie theatre and the blue wall with rusted, chipped paint. but some of them were downright terrible. the grey wall? what the *****? that was terrible.
- derbloodlust, on 02/25/2009, -0/+6Kinda like you, right?
- Gaalsien, on 02/25/2009, -0/+4Decay is a part of life.

- inactive, on 02/24/2009, -1/+4Very nice they title made me think these were going to be pictures of some decaying teeth lol

- LR2_, on 02/25/2009, -0/+2Wow, this cinema seat looks like they took it straight out of Fallout 3.

except for the whole mold issue. - RobotBuddha, on 02/26/2009, -0/+2Possibly. I've noticed as well that a love of this kind of thing often goes along with a progressive attitude. It's not so much a resigned sigh, as appreciation for a tree that has to be chopped down to write the blueprints of the future. We appreciate the decay both for showing what came before, and for those ruins being the foundation for something better that we're in the midst of creating.
- Jonwils, on 02/24/2009, -0/+2fantastic
- sunsetprojects, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1Keep up the good work I love the bridge underpass
- AnMo764, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1cool=)
- Dr3w, on 02/25/2009, -1/+2Maybe as a society we're beginning to see the beauty in decay as a defense mechanism against the inevitable fall of our civilization.
- doctechnical, on 02/25/2009, -1/+2The attack, sustain and release weren't bad either.
- Upon66, on 02/25/2009, -1/+2So much better than paying attention in class.
- alphonse221, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1*needs Cursive's "The Great Decay" playing in background*
amazing shots - homer00, on 02/25/2009, -1/+2I was hoping someone would say this, I completely agree.
- RobotBuddha, on 02/26/2009, -0/+1Think of the non-human life that occupies it in a literal sense now.
- ckedge, on 02/25/2009, -1/+2Anyone got a link that doesn't require Javascript be enabled on two sites AND Flash be allowed? FFS.
- PaulHouse, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1Entropy at its finest.
- DasHef, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1I liked the red rose one better...
- o0mirage0o, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1Just think what life occupied those walls years ago.
- H3llr41s3r, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1Absolutely beautiful, but you don't find it that pretty when your house actually looks like that.
- coheedcollapse, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1I've been a part of this group for a while and there are some real gems in there. There are tons of groups like this on Flickr if you just go sorting through the place.
The first guy on that photostream link works with light incredibly well. I suggest you add him as a favorite if you're on Flickr because he knows what he's doing and consistantly pumps out cool stuff.
Now, onto my obligatory on-topic photopimp. I hope you won't take it as spamming since it's completely on topic and all of my own work. There are literally hundreds of abandoned buildings surrounding the area that I live in and I make it a point to get out there with friends and capture them. They might not be the most eye-popping images, but I shoot for realism:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/cityeyes/collections/ ... - rsbryswrrl, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1Love this. Almost as much as I love http://www.amazon.com/Ghostly-Ruins-Americas-Forgo ... and http://www.amazon.com/Ghosts-Wilderness-Abandoned- ...
- PhantomPhoenix, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1That bridge underside wasn't beautiful...it was scary.
We really need to fix the bridges in this country... - monsterette, on 02/25/2009, -1/+1....fabulous....
- wademanuk, on 02/25/2009, -1/+1I wonder if theirs a group for Ugly Decay? I can certainly think of a few buildings and things that I could put in that pool.
- pinbackATTK, on 02/25/2009, -1/+1I've had friends think it was weird that I found so much beauty in abandoned buildings and crumbling shells of industry.
Great to see that there are people like the photographers here that can not only see it, but capture it better than any argument I could make for it. - JazminMillion, on 02/25/2009, -1/+1I like the faces of death pool too!!!
http://www.flickr.com/groups/facesofdeath/pool/sho ... - robosexy, on 02/25/2009, -0/+0The slide show doesn't let you appreciate, press PAUSE and browse through.
Incredible photos! I thought I was the only one amazed by stuff like this. - TPain07, on 02/25/2009, -0/+0or Bioshock
- mrseemoo, on 02/25/2009, -0/+0Some people contributing to this pool put out a book with their favorite pictures. You can take a look at it here:
http://indecay.com/ - danthepiercer, on 02/25/2009, -1/+1some interesting composition with some of these images, however the whole rust/decay thing is terribly cliche IMO.
- jimpoe, on 03/01/2009, -0/+0These are great photos. The composition and use of light shows a master's touch. Thanks for sharing.
- ShihJhit, on 02/25/2009, -1/+1such beauty in desolation...
- AnMo764, on 02/25/2009, -0/+0Good....
- inactive, on 02/25/2009, -1/+1Our works are only transitory and so are we.
- Heidenreich12, on 02/25/2009, -1/+1its amazing how pictures bring what you would normally think as dull and worn out to life!
- McMahon9, on 02/25/2009, -1/+1Some of these are mesmerizing, makes you wonder how some of these places fell into such disarray.
- sherotonfiz, on 03/01/2009, -0/+0Nice and Good..
