- modsuperstar, on 04/16/2008, -2/+57Odd, but so cool. Definitely a way to hone your skills as an artist.
- BlackSheep720, on 04/16/2008, -3/+51wish we could see some originals.
- ravan46, on 04/16/2008, -1/+42Hey Arnold?
- Danoz, on 04/16/2008, -0/+34As much as i like this, i would like it 3x more if i could sit here and comparing originals to illustrations. I'm disappointed there isn't anything to compare it to.
- staffrocket, on 04/16/2008, -3/+24What a bizarre concept!
- idoj, on 04/16/2008, -1/+20Any drawing of my high school yearbook photo would certainly be an improvement from the original! Kudos to the artist.
- luke374, on 04/16/2008, -1/+15IHWPUAATSIOIP (I hate when people use acronyms and then spell it out in parentheses.)
- smacksaw, on 04/16/2008, -0/+13I hate to break it you Ann Coulter, but unless they emigrated to the US to sign up, I'd say none of them went.
You see, it's a yearbook from Ontario...Canada. =P
The artist is Canadian. - neutrascrub, on 04/16/2008, -0/+12Move it football head!
- BarbaraKolbe, on 04/16/2008, -1/+13Spend time @ this flickr page. Each drawing is truly unique.
- Mootabolife, on 04/16/2008, -0/+10True, for all we know, he made these people up.
- phoenix78, on 04/16/2008, -0/+10If you read in the description/tags...it's from Ontario...Canada...in 1968.
Not to sound stereotyping, but...yeeeaaah, they're all white kids. - xmizzbojanglesx, on 04/16/2008, -5/+14He went to school with some uglies.
- inactive, on 04/16/2008, -0/+8actually it's his mom's yearbook, read the description on the flikr page
- theradical, on 04/16/2008, -1/+8Not a looker in the bunch.
- sirbeta, on 04/16/2008, -0/+7It would have been better if they had a side-by comparison of the pages.
- HakonD, on 04/16/2008, -0/+6It doesn't stop being a comcept once it's done. Nothing wrong with what staffrocket said.
- rjc5056, on 04/16/2008, -1/+7So, his mom lived in Mission Hill?
- MrTito, on 04/16/2008, -1/+6If it was possible to find these people, it'd be cool to see a "40 years later" edition.
- mokodo, on 04/16/2008, -0/+5pictures of all people or it didn't happen...

top right corner: brian skinner...coolest looking dude ever - TRGX, on 04/16/2008, -0/+5Are they all white kids?
- minorthreat, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4my school was probably 750 whites with 4 minorities... move out of the ghetto ?
- rjc5056, on 04/16/2008, -0/+4No, actually I'm leaning more towards The Critic now. Yea. Definitely The Critic.
I would have edited my original comment but, wouldn't ya know, that pesky old comment bug is back to his old tricks. I like to personify him like the gambling bug from that one old Tex Avery cartoon. - innocentsinner, on 04/16/2008, -1/+5Someone named their kid Ginger Gingerich.
- arsheroica, on 04/16/2008, -0/+4Zehr, Wagler, Yantzi, Jutzi, Kropf, Martin, Shantz, Loree, Eby, Steinmann, Boshart, Bingeman, Albrecht, Weitzel, Holst, Gingerich, Schwartzentruber, Eichler, Bast, Hofstetter, Schumm...
Wow, I'll be damned if this yearbook isn't from somewhere in South-Western Ontario. I live between Kitchener and Stratford, Ontario, and everyone I know has those names, most of them very Mennonite in origin.
Anyway, great work to the cartoonist! - smspence, on 04/16/2008, -0/+4From the Flickr page:
"Excelsior 1968 is a high school yearbook for the fictional Bristol County Secondary School in the fictional Staedtler, Ontario.
Each student here is redrawn (and renamed) from my mother's actual 1968 high school yearbook."
He says he renamed all the people, so looks like it won't do any good to search for any of those names. - inactive, on 04/16/2008, -0/+4I remember Janet Fritz, what a slut...
- ChronicColonic, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3How in the world did you get a comment to stick that appears to be blank?
- topace3000, on 04/16/2008, -1/+4Canada.
- mehagian, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3No they didn't.
"Each student here is redrawn (and renamed) from my mother's actual 1968 high school yearbook." - eiatheplaya, on 04/16/2008, -1/+4His good looking mom is here, btw:
http://flickr.com/photos/robotjohnny/2411636342/in ... - hammburglar, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3must be a digg yearbook
- inactive, on 04/16/2008, -1/+4I wish I could draw :(
Those are really cool. - cerealjynx, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3Holy crap. I used to draw and doodle a whole lot in high school, not so much anymore. But this little project has my long-frozen juices beginning to flow. What a great idea.
- tiggerthedigger, on 09/05/2008, -2/+5How bizarre how bizzarre..
- innocentsinner, on 04/16/2008, -1/+4I tried some Google-Fu to find out what school the book is from. The best I came up with is Arthur High School in Arthur, Ontario. I Googled some of the less-common names and "murray shantz" came up with that school and a corresponding year. It also agrees with the fact that the artist sets the school in a fictional city in Ontario.
- SteveIsTheDude, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3I zipped through all the pics in Slideshow mode... Reminded me of a "Mii Parade" on a Nintendo Wii ... So many types of people... Nice Work... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgPC0INnoN4
- cathpah, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3Now I just want to see a link to the actual yearbook....for comparison's sake.
- dreiman7, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2Ha, Paul Gladding looks like a total tool!
- Ibox, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2Well if he made up this many unique characters this would be even more impressive.
- rjc5056, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3@Ghost
Nice catch on the glaring hole in Freezingmoose's logic. Your perception skills and ability to read between the lines leave me in awe while simultaneously render me helpless to your very likely telekinetic abilities due to such an obvious freakish abundance of matter composing your cerebral cortex.
Psst... that was sarcasm. - Freezingmoose, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3W? Iahts, aifycfiotptywim. (Why? Its a huge time saver, and if you can't figure it out the parenthesis tells you what it means.)
- kolinkoolface2, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3this is truly unique and original. Props for the artists.
- innocentsinner, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2Well crap.
- innocentsinner, on 04/16/2008, -1/+2That's awesome!
- RubineBoy, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1Nice and clever work ... Most people will also look better that way.
- Steinr, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1link is safe!
- KingGorilla, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1You can compare them to each other to who are the most beautiful. Just like in high school
- beargrylls, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1And there was a terrible guy to girl ratio.
