- phnx0221, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1This was a fascinating read (couldn't watch it at the moment, read the transcript). This woman, who has lived through so much, and has had her family, that has lived (and died) through so much evil, atrocity, betrayal, and uncertainty, gave a bit of inspiration and hope, in speaking out against evil, shedding light on that which has been committed, and all while speaking through love of humanity, and culture, and the depth of human compassion.
There is a lot of suffering in this world. And this woman, along with her family dealt with much of it during the death of Salvador Allende on that terrible day in 1973, with the US backed coup that put in place a murderous, torturous dictator. It's interesting that she is now an American citizen, I would have liked to hear her thoughts more on the United States and the CIA's role in the coup that killed her Uncle, but maybe it is something a bit too personal for interested observers such as myself to press.
Either way, that was quite a compelling read, thank you very much for sharing this.
