- macmcraeart, on 07/04/2009, -0/+29"Even considering that they were designed years ago" LOL. I love how people assume that art - like science - gets better as time progresses.
- Jbruster, on 07/04/2009, -1/+16Teenage Mother, see her now in colour!
- alais, on 07/04/2009, -0/+11Yeah oh boy even considering it was painted "years ago" that mona lisa is still ok
- inactive, on 07/04/2009, -0/+11i like how the 50 foot woman is actually like 350 feet
- quadef, on 07/03/2009, -2/+11They sure don't make them like they used to
- dman24752, on 07/04/2009, -0/+6FTA: Vintage posters appeared around 1880 and developed it's style and fame during the following decade, until 1890, where vintage posters were already a hit.
No. In 1880, they were just posters. Now they're vintage because they're old.
Nice collection though... They kinda missed propaganda posters for the Spanish Civil War though. Those were amazing.

- Subiejon, on 07/04/2009, -1/+7For a list of Vintage posters... this isn't a very good collection.
- cyrusaman, on 07/04/2009, -0/+4Thanks for that comment. I work with people who are a generation apart from me, and I often hear---when discussing music or film---"that was before I was born." It's hair-pulling frustrating.
- Philbert, on 07/04/2009, -0/+4Vintage posters? Like Mr. Babyman?
I kid, I kid! - Balanced, on 07/04/2009, -0/+4I think a revival of Hackerbrau beer would go over well with a lot of people on Digg.
- namochan, on 07/04/2009, -0/+3Got to love the lack of Helvetica.
- JRFanning007, on 07/04/2009, -0/+2dugg for Bus Stop and the Titanic posters.

"YOU WOULDN'T DOWNLOAD A CAR WOULD YOU?"
p.s. I did, drives great... - inactive, on 07/04/2009, -0/+2Where's you link? I want to see what you think is good...
- macmcraeart, on 07/04/2009, -0/+2science does get better and more advanced as time passes. it progresses in a linear fashion. but art doesn't. it is a cycle where trends and styles reflect what is going on in the world at a given time but it isn't building toward more perfect art. and to say that beethoven is better than mozart because he came after him is misinformed. same goes for warhol and duchamp.
- Mujokan, on 07/04/2009, -0/+2I went an checked it out, and that poster is actually a *modern* retro knock-off! Wow. Great skills. http://www.elliottmattice.com/showcase.htm

- Mujokan, on 07/04/2009, -0/+2Nice collection from around the web, though it's a bit random. They have stuff from every decade from 1900 to 1960 jumbled up there.
A lot of art deco stuff from the 1920s, which is cool, but personally my favorite style of all is the expressionist ones from the 1930s, with the brooding skies and strange shadows, e.g. http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/pic/VAS/0 ... - sketcher67, on 07/04/2009, -0/+2Dugg for the word "cooch"
- macmcraeart, on 07/04/2009, -1/+2Ahhhh - Vermeer , michaelangelo and bach. Art and music back in the olden days was so simple and quaint.
- Ruch182, on 07/04/2009, -0/+1i want
- Mujokan, on 07/04/2009, -0/+1Just looking around now, there is not much on Google images that's very good quality. The best thing I found was to go to Flickr, put in "poster" plus the year that you want. (Or just "vintage poster" etc.)
- JanSimpson, on 07/04/2009, -1/+2Nice -
- sketcher67, on 07/04/2009, -0/+1Here's a link to another set of vintage movie posters: http://www.darkroastedblend.com/2009/05/thrilling- ...

- dbacker, on 07/05/2009, -0/+1I'm sure the artists made multiple versions of these posters. I sure like the 'more popular one' better for "Tournee Du Chat Noir": http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/pic/RIC/2 ...
BTW this list under represents the genre. - mrfunktastic, on 07/04/2009, -0/+1http://www.salon.com/comics/boll/2007/06/14/boll/
- thirty6chambers, on 07/05/2009, -0/+1they have about 50 generic looking vintage posters yet they don't have one of the greatest: anatomy of a murder.
- Ch3lle, on 08/19/2009, -0/+1Wow Vogue was actually interesting!
- danwallace, on 07/06/2009, -0/+1Link?
- KingGorilla, on 07/04/2009, -1/+1science doesn't get better?
- Spacejack, on 07/04/2009, -0/+0The text on the page was also apparently written by a non-native English speaker. Who is also a bonobo.
- Subiejon, on 07/04/2009, -1/+1You could not steal the poster and buy a real print of it.
- inactive, on 07/04/2009, -1/+1dugg for the cat drinking Absinthe

- jlcotton1968, on 07/04/2009, -2/+0If you look closely at the "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman" poster, you will see me in between her legs looking up. What a sight!
8-) - zebraz, on 07/04/2009, -8/+3Where's a poster of Obamasaurus with his hand in your pocket ?
- jrm125, on 07/04/2009, -12/+3Feels just like the crap they sell at Pottery Barn, Target, and a host of other chains in mass production to tacky idiots.
