'rounded' wins best execution for the realism cat. and there are some creative illustrations but i think some of the best photoshop work isn't about how many brushes or pre-made 'swirls' you can use. The best ones are (IMHO) those that let the elements create something entirely different - not in what the visual does on-screen to your eyes, but where it takes you and how it excites your mind to figure out more than just how it was done.
some of these definitely fall in that category. i just want to see something new by now. How many exploded objects and overused brushes do we have to endure before something emerges from it all? A lot apparently, but enough - for sure.
