- jkash23686, on 06/12/2009, -0/+11And then photographed as the bullet passes though them
- cam0man, on 06/12/2009, -0/+10you accidentally put an out of context link in the bottom of your message, just wanted to give you an fyi.
- regulan, on 06/12/2009, -0/+8Dude, not cool! You should really find a better way of increasing you page rank.
- stoanhart, on 06/12/2009, -1/+8Because it's dirt cheap, piss-water beer, and the photo is worth the dollar?

http://digg.com/arts_culture/30_Colorful_Shots_Of_ ... - EvanGH, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1Yeah, what kind of slug is that? It's a weird shape.
- billski, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1That radish is F'd...
- a1programmer, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1Come on ... no sense of humor ?
- retral, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1It's actually a laser trigger for the camera. Once something breaks the beam it triggers the flash/exposure. In this case, the laser didn't self disengage (or didn't do it quickly enough).
- Chordinator, on 06/12/2009, -1/+2Does anyone know how they perfectly time each shutter release?
- retral, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1Actually, many of these were done with .22lr.. nice fail though.
- Colortude, on 10/21/2009, -0/+1Awesome shots, (no pun intended.) Must have been a great camera. Beautiful colors.
- ICDWILL117, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1I noticed that as well.
Still awesome though. - thatoneguydunno, on 06/11/2009, -4/+5Wow, these pics really pop out.

- Ki77erB, on 06/12/2009, -0/+0No, no...its not even beer. You should have just stopped at piss-water.

this is what I was thinking of,
http://digg.com/d1rUxw - Bones97698, on 06/12/2009, -3/+2NOOOOOO NOT THE PBR!!!!!!!!!!!
- mescon, on 06/12/2009, -2/+2FTA: "Here are 30 excellent high speed photos of bullets passing through various objects, captured using high speed cameras."
Actually, most of these shots were NOT taken with a "high speed camera". The FLASH has to be fast.
The recipe for a shot like this contains:
A camera (any camera will do, but you have to be able to control the shutter speed).
A sound-triggered flash, or an IR-triggered flash (or a really fast repeating flash)
A dark room, with a colorful backdrop.
The logic is this:
You rig your set, darken the room entirely (pitch black), put the shutter speed at about 3 seconds or so in ISO 100, and then shoot your projectile through the ballon/apple/whatever. The sound of the gun will trigger the flash, the flash illuminates the scene for a split second, and the resulting light is the only thing that enters your camera sensor. Tah-daaaa! Cheap setup for a low-noise, high speed frame. - grules, on 06/12/2009, -2/+2Why do i never see a bullet shot photo from a different angle (with the bullet coming towards the camera?)
- ArkRaider1936, on 06/12/2009, -3/+3Where did they get the laser gun they used on the Tequiza? You can't exactly walk into a gun store and buy a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range...
(Yeah, yeah, laser sight. Let me have my fun, *****.) - StigNordas, on 06/11/2009, -3/+3I've never had a stronger urge to shoot food.
- brainflakes, on 06/12/2009, -2/+1If anyone's wondering how they do this kind of photography
http://www.woodselec.com/strobe.htm - psyc420, on 06/12/2009, -2/+1would it be useful to study these pictures using a complexity or network lens to better understand how things 'change'?
- Nature1, on 06/12/2009, -2/+1This really made me want m&ms for some reason.
- SniperZero, on 06/12/2009, -3/+2Now if only there are videos for these would be awesome.
- SpeedStix, on 06/12/2009, -2/+1Amazing! Loved the chocolate bunny picture :)
- lubberwort, on 06/12/2009, -2/+1 Seems like all high speed bullet photography is shooting from the left.
- regularsteven, on 06/12/2009, -2/+1give a creative person a gun and this is what you get. awesome
- baseman16, on 06/12/2009, -2/+0how did they shoot through the card?
- rmathieson, on 06/12/2009, -2/+0its a .22 pellet, not a bullet - still - incredible images.
- coolTechno007, on 06/12/2009, -1/+0awesome photos.. amazing
