- bballbackus, on 12/02/2007, -1/+55Can we just add a function to digg that automatically submits all torrentfreak stories?
- sparced, on 12/02/2007, -2/+49No uTorrent for Mac owners. Shame.
- DeathAxe, on 12/02/2007, -2/+30How about Clutch, the WebUI for Transmission? http://clutchbt.com/
- aceslick911, on 12/02/2007, -2/+28screw a UI.. I want a client.
- Waskonator, on 12/02/2007, -0/+20whats the difference?
- MinaSulo, on 12/02/2007, -2/+19"when you’re away from your desktop computer"
Uh, what? - CharlesSaint, on 12/02/2007, -1/+15It wasn't meant to be impressive, it's meant to be useful and informative for the 1.4 million or so people ( http://www.news.com/8301-13579_3-9801997-37.html ) that have the phone. Yeah, i have an iPhone, and no, I wasn't camping out on launch day to get one; it was a birthday gift of which I paid half of because my younger brother broke his phone and so I gave him mine and upgraded. I had a Blackjack before and liked it just fine. Yeah there's things I can't do on my iPhone that I could do on my blackjack, but overall the browsing experience makes up for most of the shortcomings. No, I don't have a mac, I'm a windows/Linux user, but the phone does a lot of the things I need it to do very well.
Stop being an Apple hater and at least appreciate the fact that there is, for once, an actual informative technology story on what used to be a great technology website. If you don't like it, don't digg it, but it was helpful to me so I sure as hell did. - Me1000, on 12/02/2007, -0/+12sure you could, but why? I mean there are great other torrent clients like transmission.
I would love to use uTorrent on my mac, however since I dont have a native version I wont bother with it. - inactive, on 12/02/2007, -0/+10Shut the hell up, you know what he is talking about.
- edicius, on 12/02/2007, -3/+12Try looking here...
http://www.*****.com/ - LeonardNimrod, on 12/02/2007, -2/+11I've been waiting a long time for Torrent for Mac to come out of private beta but now that Transmission can now do select files and has priority settings I don't really acre about uTorrent now.
- luchid, on 12/02/2007, -0/+8...said the guy whining on Digg on a Saturday night...
- DaffyDuck, on 12/02/2007, -0/+7Less work.
- zeeky, on 12/02/2007, -0/+5that would be transmission and azureus. they both have webui's.
- addiggt, on 07/06/2009, -0/+4Man I wish I could use this, damnit.
- Gir53457, on 12/02/2007, -0/+4Sure, I love command prompts.
- DarkDx, on 12/02/2007, -2/+6http://clutchbt.com/
- starkruzr, on 12/02/2007, -0/+4it's much faster because the page is designed specifically for the iPhone's browser. this actually IS a useful improvement.
- Kypt, on 12/02/2007, -0/+4Make sure you have the connection type as "Bridged"
- Gir53457, on 12/02/2007, -0/+3Get. Laid.
- dagamer34, on 12/02/2007, -0/+3For some reason, I never get a green check when using VMware but do when using Boot Camp so I know it's not my connection. Anyone else have this problem?
- scuba7183, on 12/03/2007, -0/+3is it just me or are you stupid?
- inactive, on 12/02/2007, -1/+3complimentary to seeqpod for iphone
http://seeqpod.com/m - mcnearcj, on 12/03/2007, -0/+2Probably because some people aren't as narrow minded as you and embrace new technology or new advancements in general. How about you take the stereo system out of you car since that isn't the primary purpose of a car.
- ventro, on 12/02/2007, -0/+2Does anyone know if this requires a new version of webui.zip? Or is it still the originial version?
- hrvat420, on 12/03/2007, -1/+2Macs Isuck
- CharlesSaint, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1Nice! I was just looking for a way to do this the other day. One curious thing though is that you can't randomly seed torrents that aren't already active on uTorrent, so you won't be able to just randomly seed any torrent at will. However, if a torrent is active, you can pause and/or resume it. Still really handy though.
- inactive, on 12/03/2007, -0/+1Another mactard that cant read his own post. Read your own link, where is that torrent client?? Oops there is NONE !!
- antoniojvr, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1Here's a video showing in on a symbian-based phone.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0 - jordn, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1i wish that Transmission would create a webUI for iPhone/iPod Touch. :(
- SanjayM, on 12/02/2007, -1/+2No, uTorrent was written in C++ but is compiled against and uses a very customised set of libraries and is just very slickly coded resulting in its efficiency. uTorrent has previously said that linux/mac ports "May happen sometime in the future" but with the commercial takeover i don't see it happening anytime soon :( . Personally i use linux and love Deluge torrent, which is open source and availible for win/mac http://deluge-torrent.org/
- cgruber, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1I installed it today. Uses the same webui.zip but you add the folder on the website INTO the webui.zip
- phinn, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1Works well, all the torrent WebUIs work well for the iPhone anyway (Azureus, uTorrent, and Deluge are my favorites, but I always use Deluge now) however this one is extra nice since it's formated perfectly for the screen and UI style.
Good job on this one - yaazz, on 12/03/2007, -0/+1well this is web based so you could use it on your regular phone probalby
- quadvods, on 12/02/2007, -0/+1will this app work on a touch then?
- meehawl, on 06/29/2008, -0/+0Or with a real smartphone, like a HTC WM, you can download torrents *on* the phone, and with something like EVDO get around 2 Mbps.
- mcnearcj, on 12/03/2007, -1/+1I don't see a mac version. It looks just like utorrent so I was excited.
- Mohrba769, on 12/02/2007, -0/+0Well thats a nice little feature that alot of my friends would like back home, and it appears to work perfectly with the iphone, at least what i have heard
- lolo2007, on 01/17/2008, -0/+0Nice! I was just looking for a way to do this the other day. One curious thing though is that you can't randomly seed torrents that aren't already active on uTorrent, so you won't be able to just randomly seed any torrent at will. http://www.paramegsoft.com/forum/ - neodorian, on 12/02/2007, -13/+12That would require learning to communicate through other means than pointing at pictures.
- elitexero, on 12/02/2007, -3/+1Is it just me, or is there no actual iphone client hosted on that site... just webui stuff for your pc...?
- rishdeep, on 12/02/2007, -5/+3Bit off-topic but does anyone know if there is there an app like this for symbian-based phones?
- nastajus, on 12/02/2007, -3/+1uTorrent was written in assembly, i believe, inherently windows or whatever
- Me1000, on 12/02/2007, -3/+1no they wont!
- inactive, on 12/02/2007, -8/+4I thought Mac owners could use utorrent in WINE just like Linux users?
- Firehed, on 12/02/2007, -6/+1Yeah, that does suck. Azureus is really the only decent OS X bit-torrent client (at least, the only one that seems to work fairly reliably and supports transport encryption) - but the HTML WebUI has worked on the iPhone since release as far as I'm aware. Seeing that my server running my bit-torrent stuff IS running Windows, uTorrent's WebUI not working properly on the iPhone (and probably in Safari too) meant that I had to use Azureis there too. Maybe I'll be able to switch over and lighten the load a bit now.
- bitspace, on 12/02/2007, -7/+2uTorrent is just another bittorrent client, and not even one of the better ones. Transmission is nice; xtorrent is very nice too. There's one with a web UI somewhat like uTorrent as well, I just don't remember which one it is.
- Photar, on 12/02/2007, -7/+2Parallels,VMware, bootcamp work fine.
- mehan, on 12/02/2007, -11/+5oh wow, you can now do on an iphone what you could always do on pretty much any phone with a browser, that's impressive.
