iTweetr - Twitter for iPhone
dev.deanjrobinson.com — I think twitter is perfectly suited for the iPhone, and sure you could use the standard Twitter page or you could use something like this. Its only a concept at the moment, but it shows how it could be displayed.

- fizzbuzz, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13Yeah, got to agree that micro blogging with the likes of twitter is probably the best form of blogging for cellphones. Something like this could be huge.
- LeeSoong, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4or not.
But more likely, a lot of para-professional people and Teen MySpace users will really enjoy it. - rpgmaker, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Is 'nano' blogging btw.
- LeeSoong, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4or not.
- ttamshadbolt, on 10/11/2007, -9/+7Who said you couldn't develop for the iPhone?
- zeeky, on 10/11/2007, -8/+3...define develop
- Dumbledorito, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6This is development in the same way that a lobotomy improves cognition by getting all that pesky thinking out of the picture...
- earthtoandy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14I will try this out when I get my iPhone but I have to admit that so far the whole concept of Twitter completely escapes me. Maybe the phone platform will be good for it. We'll see.
- MiloMindrbindr, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Totally agree, don't understand it either. But either way, keep those web apps coming!
- theShiba, on 10/11/2007, -12/+2Ok, seriously? Is the iPhone even out yet? Can we just wait to masturbate to the iPhone until it actually becomes available. Enough with the iPhone stuff already.
- MiloMindrbindr, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9Of course, because there's no reason to create apps for a platform that isn't out yet. I mean, come on, who is going to want to use apps on the first day it's released?
/sarcasm - earthtoandy, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Well I guess in one respect this gives some credit to their strategy for 3rd party development since people are able to create cool little apps for a product that doesnt exist yet
- Gutterpunk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0@milomindrbindr : Sarcasm? Why is that sarcasm, its exactly how apple think.
14 days before release and no one still knows what the "Web 2.0 + Ajax" app will have access too, and the little we know, we don't know how we will have access to.
Seems like Apple is convinced that no one will want to use any application on the first day that it is out.
/Unless of course the details are so horrificly lame that it would rain on Apple's parade
- MiloMindrbindr, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9Of course, because there's no reason to create apps for a platform that isn't out yet. I mean, come on, who is going to want to use apps on the first day it's released?
- doctabu, on 10/26/2007, -0/+18Okay, there are two big things wrong with this thing:
One. What is up with all of these iPhone "apps" having scroll arrows (like this one at the top) and JS scrolls? Isn't the iPhone going to be able to scroll just like every other web browser? Something like this seems stupid-- it should have a fixed width like it does now, but just extend downwards.
Two. Twitter's all about quick posting, and less about the users themselves-- this kind of app should be displaying the tweets (messages) without having to click on them. I think that's a given.- MiloMindrbindr, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2both very good points.
- deanjrobinson, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2the js scrolling is there simply to replicate the scrolling that will "just happen" I would assume on iPhone. Its only a proof of concept, which is why I've restricted it to 320x480px so it can bee seen what it would look like on an iPhone-sized screen.
Yes you could display all the tweets open by default, theres no reason why it couldn't be an option. I modeled it on the mode of Twitteriffic where the tweets are closed by default.
Thanks for the feedback.
- ondrasoukup, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Kinda doesn't do anything for me...is that right ?
- mikev, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2You don't read descriptions...is that right ?
- jcmia1, on 10/11/2007, -5/+1Seems another Web 2.0 look alike. Shrinking my reading area to the iPhone screen size seems silly and not very user-friendly. Plus, iPhone is finger-scrolled which has quite different feeling to it. This is OK, kinda like what this iPhone case website used moo.fx: http://www.i2doto.com.
- thomas, on 10/26/2007, -4/+6Sorry but I don't dig anything twitter related.
- Markpdotcom, on 10/26/2007, -3/+2I have to agree, its pointless and I don't know why their marketing team keeps pushing their stories on digg, do we care?
- gafasiesornivek, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2iPhone (no, I don't mean the phone from Linksys) applications are shaping up to be teh ghey.
- palmdoc, on 10/15/2007, -0/+4Any mobile phone with a browser can do the same with http://m.twitter.com
- virtualball, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2but this looks cooler...duh.
- zdiggler, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Cell phone carrier thanks twitter for making them a tons of money on text.
- MagnetoWasRight, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1http://www.duggmirror.com
- insanebrain, on 10/15/2007, -2/+0Twitter : "A global community of friends and strangers answering one simple question: What are you doing?"
whow. . sounds REALLY boring. . - stealthrocket, on 10/15/2007, -1/+1The whole idea of Twitter is lost on me. It seems so self involved to think people want to know what you are doing every minute. Do we really need to be this connected?
- ChrisOC, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Here's another iPhone widget:
http://www.myfirstmac.com/widgets/
It's a widget to view a featured article, Mac tip and Mac link of the day. - ammadz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Can't wait to get my iPhone in hand.. this looks good..
- JeffMike21, on 03/10/2008, -0/+0I have my Iphone, I have it cracked - I want a twitter app!
