- AaronSaund, on 04/30/2009, -7/+53How about making iTunes not suck on Windows.
- TheCheeks, on 04/30/2009, -0/+24iTunes on OS X is by far my favorite and most used app on my Mac. But yeah I gotta agree, back when I used Windows it was the biggest piece of crap ever.
- jasmus, on 04/30/2009, -0/+20You can tell iTunes to leave your music were it is and just reference it. iTunes doesn't care how your folders are organised, it uses the id3 tags to sort your music inside itunes.
- Muero, on 04/30/2009, -0/+17What's the point of accessing Gracenote's database if you're not allowed to rip video off of DVDs or Blu-ray discs in iTunes? Having iTunes tell me what DVD is in my drive seems pointless.
- GRAVEWiSH, on 04/30/2009, -2/+16how about Folder Monitoring? THX
- jjustin01, on 04/30/2009, -1/+12People want it to suck on Windows. They just don't know it.
Thank you,
Steve Jobs - inactive, on 04/30/2009, -3/+9***** you
- Synchro, on 04/30/2009, -0/+6Yeah, just make sure you configure it to leave it BEFORE you drag and drop everything. Otherwise you will be unhappy. Once it gets going, you are stuck.
So again, make this configuration change BEFORE you do anything else after installing it. I cannot stress that enough. - TheCheeks, on 04/30/2009, -1/+7On Windows yes. Mac, no.

- mattus, on 04/30/2009, -1/+6Uncommon OS in poor software support shocker!
Upgrade to Vista 64. - birch25, on 04/30/2009, -0/+4I assume they're positioning iTunes to replace DVD Player which wouldn't be a bad idea (even though I really like the current version) as they've been trying to make iTunes an all purpose media application.
- krisrm, on 04/30/2009, -1/+5I refuse to even pretend that makes any sense.
- jasmus, on 04/30/2009, -0/+4You OS isn't supported.
I can't even buy a Zune is Australia, but if I could, I wouldn't be able to use it on OSX.
Same deal, I wouldn't buy one because my OS isn't supported. - ZhiZaki, on 04/30/2009, -0/+4Agreed!!!
- birch25, on 04/30/2009, -1/+5Apparently you haven't used iTunes on WIndows...it sucks worse than you'd believe. It runs really well on OSX, but it's the slowest app on my Windows partition (I swear GTA4 is better optimized than iTunes).
- inactive, on 04/30/2009, -0/+2And this will allow me to browse MP3s on the iPod, the same way I browse using FTP or Windows Explorer. Yes?
Thinking about buying one for my dad, the 120gb one and fill it up with Blues MP3s and a FM transmitter add-on & car adaptor. But I cant stress how it needs to have the ability to browse in/out through sub folders. I bought a modified xbox, painted it purple with gold decals (he's University of Washington alumni), filled it with 50 gigs of blues. He NEVER uses it.

Figure something portable, with double the Blue's might get more use. - inactive, on 04/30/2009, -2/+4And what if you have a collection of mp3s thats already sorted and organized?
D:\MP3\Genre\Bands\Albums
Also, having never owned or touched an iPod, since my collection is sorted in this manner, will iTunes simply let me drag and drop entire folders and its series of sub folders and navigate around as such? - tidal, on 04/30/2009, -1/+3How about fixing the ac3 bug so we can watch our shows in 5.1 DD?
- captainchris, on 04/30/2009, -0/+2instant tagging, and no hanging when adding tracks would be nice. this can't be impossible.
- MorpheousMarty, on 04/30/2009, -0/+2Short answer yes, long answer... if your ID3 tags reflect the system you listed above, you can sort them to match, however it uses a completely different paradigm to manage you library than the windows file system, so it would be an awkward execution. However there is a handy search field at the top that works for all parts of the ID3 tags, so you could easily narrow the list down by what you feel that day (genre\album\whatever) and then sort however you see fit.
If you don't have an iPod/Phone device though, use MediaMonkey. It will give you all the iTunes functionality plus a folder interface if you prefer, and a ton of advance library management tools like file name parsing for ID3 tags. IMHO if everyone else in the market got behind MediaMonkey, the iPod line would face a very real threat. It already works with most devices, too bad it doesn't come bundled with them. MediaMonkey rules. - jasmus, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1elister - No. All management and playing of songs on your iPod through your PC is done in iTunes. With the browser in iTunes enabled, you can browse by artist album or genre.
- mesomorphicman, on 04/30/2009, -2/+3Works fine on my Windows XP computer, I don't understand the complaints. User error or user slow computers maybe? Don't know.
- matthekc, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1Could I get a port to WINE for Linux apple my sister has a Iphone and she borrows my Linux laptop but can't sync her phone I'm not going to buy or pirate Windows for the machine. Would really appreciate some Linux Itunes love here.
- kamekilo195, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1Happy Gracenote is getting some soon-2-be love. Been using that db for years now.
- robbob, on 05/02/2009, -0/+1Genius always crashes when sending the info to Apple.
Genius /s - Pandalume, on 04/30/2009, -1/+2Make it so I can without doing a clean install.
- sjinadasa, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1Just bring back the old party shuffle.. or at least give me a choice.
- Pandalume, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1It's a feature, not a bug.
- jonahan52, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1Make Microsoft fix their bug.
- philipjayfry, on 04/30/2009, -3/+3How about making windows not suck first. Then iTunes may work.
- moo113, on 04/30/2009, -2/+2XP 64 needs to be supported already. I'm tired of seeing "iTunes was not properly install...." and having to okay to open the goram program. I had to get a third party driver to get CD importing and burning and the message is still there.
And no, I don't want an alternative. I use the iTunes store too often. Apple needs to fix their product. - NotaFanboy87, on 04/30/2009, -1/+0You use Windows, and you're criticizing iTunes for being the worst media player, with crappy syncing, calling IT bloatware and a resource hog??? I wonder what blasphemies you spoke about Vista when it came out. Hell, even now Vista still just lumbers along with 4 GB of RAM in the computer. Meanwhile, that's light-speed on a Mac. Yeah, iTunes may not be fast on Vista, but you gotta admit, Apple didn't really have much of an OS to work with. To be honest, working with Vista's like having a 250 HP engine in a 18 wheeler Semi with only 4 wheels that aren't blown out, missing, or flat carrying a full load uphill no matter where you go.
- Junior612, on 04/30/2009, -9/+4iTunes beta, new iPhone OS beta, and 10.5.7 in the works.
