- Gregd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I believe it's $249.
- ct2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ok cheers for the info ....
- The_Larch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is this thing real?
Lots of "coming soons" on the site.
Seems they should hae made it white... - Gregd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I do believe it's being debuted at CES and the price will be US$249.
- Gregd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, it WILL be debuted at CES in Las Vegas this week and will have a $249 price tag.
http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/business/13533396.htm - oyourmom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0your better off buying a personal portable video recorder for 300 bucks
- headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Almost had me till I saw the price. Make it $150 and I'll think about it.
- balazs, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0nice, but way expensive

my blog: http://theminiblog.co.uk/ - yonah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is it compatible with the iPod video? The iPod in their illustration is outdated and no longer sold by apple :P
- geminitojanus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hehe, a few years ago I thought of building a cable for my Digital-8 Camera to my iPod for video recording. This is a much more elegant solution, but I bet the video recording is pathetic. Basically, it's an add-on for the 4th gen iPod to turn it into the 5th (well, closer to maybe a PSP or something). Ima digg it for geek factor, but I can't see myself buying one; I'd rather just buy the 5th gen.
- tedyoung, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'd like to see one that turns the video iPod I already have into a camcorder...that'd be worth $150-200.
- geminitojanus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Is it compatible with the iPod video? The iPod in their illustration is outdated and no longer sold by apple"
Undoubtedly. Same dimensions, same dock connector. - Gregd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You also have to remember that this is something that is debuting at CES this week.
- geminitojanus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I'd like to see one that turns the video iPod I already have into a camcorder...that'd be worth $150-200"
Well, that's what this would do, but my guess is the camera's a piece of ***** (one of those "digital camcorders" you'd see on a telephone is my bet). You could theoretically build one that worked with a Digital-8 camera, but it wouldn't work with the new video iPods/nanos unless you built some kind of firewire->usb2 bridge. - CptnObvious, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0why are so many stupid ipod accessories and ipod articles on the front page? Have all the apple people taken over? Is there anyway to easily ignore anything mentioning "iPod" in the title through Akregator? And isn't this accessory a little rediculous? Why not buy a video camera so you don't have to depend on the crappy ipod battery life?
- CptnObvious, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0ok nevermind it has its own battery but I still think its rediculous
- paolonorte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0geminitojanus - is there an accessory to allow audio and video recording with 5th gen ipod without having to buy another screen, essentially?
- Cadmium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How about making a cheaper one for people with the iPod Video that only records? Why would I spend $250 on something when my iPod already does half of what it does? Unless there is something like that already out there.
- Zonkzor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1This is the same price as a portable media center. It's just using the hype of the iPod to promote its self (and it seems to be working). They should have designed this as a stand-alone device that could hook onto the iPod.

Remember that this is just now being debuted. Who knows what the future holds for this type of product. - Refusedb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0not dimensions
new one is slimmer and wider - GeneHACKman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Gee, I wonder if this story was on Engadget hours ago...
- dmoffitt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0site blows, if i read "This page is coming soon!" one more time i'm gonna kill something. no digg.
- qrnster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sure, it's nice. Very cool, even.
But get a PVR, specifically, get the Archos AV500 (60GB)
I've had it for a month now and it's amazing. 4 inch widescreen, recording off TV, tons more codec support including DivX.
I'm convinced I've got the best PVP out there.
But for anyone who has currently got an iPod, if this is cheaper and they don't mind the 3.6 vs 4 inch screen, I say this is the way to go.
But if you have a little more cash, get the Archos! - Vankalker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Is it compatible with the iPod video? The iPod in their illustration is outdated and no longer sold by apple
-yonah"
"Undoubtedly. Same dimensions, same dock connector.
-geminitojanus"
No the new video Ipod is wider and thinner than the 4G models. - diggismycollege, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0damnit... so i got the ipod video for nothing lol
- qrnster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it says it won't work with movies download off ITMS.
(at the mercury news link)
and this isn't some Korean thing, it's two apple former executives.
anyway I'm saving up for the PS3, and I've got a much better Archos AV500 (In my opinion)
Users of old iPods should be interested, but that's about it.
Does it play .mov? - zeiben, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I second the Archos user. People seem to get excited over the expensive stuff you can plug into your ipod (iTalk, iSee, iSmell, etc.). Why bother, when so many competitors have these features nicely integrated at a much lower price?
- pinsomniac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Newsgroups can be a useful source of video files to use with your iSee. Some suggested groups are: Alt.binaries.warez.pocketpc.movies"
... - guardian653, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anyone read this page:
http://w3.isee-ato.com/Products/Video-Content/Default.aspx
Newsgroups can be a useful source of video files to use with your iSee. Some suggested groups are:
Alt.binaries.warez.pocketpc.movies
Alt.binaries.movies.divx
Alt.binaries.movies.zeromovies
Alt.binaries.tvseries
Alt.binaries.multimeida.vintage-tv
Alt.binaries.dvd.movies
Alt.binaries.movies
I lol'ed, especially when I saw the newsgroup with warez in its name :D - guardian653, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dang pinsomniac, you beat me by a few seconds :/
- malekov, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Incredible
- mrqcho, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0^^^ I was about to put that as well... LOL...
-----------
and also... @ vankalker : "No the new video Ipod is wider and thinner than the 4G models."
---------
no it's not, it is thinner, but it's not wider. The screen IS bigger the width of the 5G iPod is the same as it has been in previous models. - your_mom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thats not even an ipod video LMAO, wat are u suppose to play the videos back on?
- macslut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"your better off buying a personal portable video recorder for 300 bucks"
What part of 'must buy iPod" do you not understand? Those people are your front door right now are going to take you for a little ride. You have some re-educating to do.
PS: isn't it a little weird that "iPod" isn't in the Digg spell check dictionary? - J3bu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'd buy one!
- JTMON, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The new ipod is not wider as previous poster claimed..it is thinner though...the wideness is an optical illusion because the screen in wider than it is tall.
- mikeazorin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Does anyone see what this is? This isn't turn your iPod into a video recorder. It's put a crappy video recorder and player that piggybacks on iPod's power and HD. This is absolutely lame.
- thelip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0their listed email info@isee-ato.com bounces.
- Unknowndude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the screen is bigger than the 5g ipod, so I might consider this rather than tryign to sell my iPod photo and buying a 5g. I'm guessing you put video files somewhere in the iPod, and the player accesses and plays it back using its own hardware?
- jblithe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0one of the better iPod accessories i've seen.
- tituskashmarek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0would be nicer if it made the ipod into like a ***** digicam or something aswell
- pynej, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hm, niffty, but:
You could just get an iPod Video and hack it, would do the same thing for a lot less. Just load a pre-configured linux image onto it and it has all the same features as this device, though not the IO ports. - Pharoah6905, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0funny thing is they have a picture of the 4g ipod in there even though its mini and nano only. http://w3.isee-ato.com/Products/Isee-360i/Default.aspx
- Pharoah6905, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0id rather get this http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=MPM-201&cat=MP3
- T3rry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0^^^ learn to read its not mini and nano only, it is compatable with all ipods, minis and nanos. i'll digg it, it is a bit unreasonable as far as the price is concerened, but good for people with a 60gb 4th gen... the company would have been much better of releasing this BEFORE the 5gen video was released.
- phxbruzer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Gee, I wonder if this story was on Engadget hours ago..."
Looks like it was about the same time....
http://www.engadget.com/2006/01/03/isee-360i-adds-video-to-video-less-ipods/ - ddudewazup, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well to see VIDEO on an IPOD, apple made a IPOD VIDEO. who wudda thunk. its crap just buy a 5g ipod
