- masterspy7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Seriously, how many times does the iPhone have to be confirmed.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14This is getting seriously old. Same story by the same poster on the front page within hours of each other.
- Pic0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I personally was awarded the iPhone contract. I'm making 1 million of them over the next 6 months and will release the first ones Jan 3rd.
- pengu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9i have also been awarded a contract to construct iphones, and bundle them with Duke Nukem forever.
my iphones will be constructed from 3 matches, 9 square feet of bubble wrap and a used condom. MacGuyver is my technical lead. - exobyte, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Interesting. The iPhone is going to be made by two companies with absolutely no cell phone experience. It's going to be one kickass mp3 player.
- ricodued, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11You'd think the Almighty Digg Algorithm (ADA) could be modified to, oh, I dont know. Look at similar stories (based on keywords or something. iPhone, Apple and contract stick out here) and if they've been on the front page within such-and-such a time of eachother, to significantly raise the requisite diggs to send the second story to the front page.
But noooo. - ibeetle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Isn't this like the third company that is supposedly making the nonexistent yet confirmed iPhone that Apple doesn't know they are making yet?
- exobyte, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Hey, it's just apple's responce to the McDonald's thing. McChicken, McNuggets, McFlurry, etc. Old yes, but still in use.
- flag564, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Toss in a Optimus keyboard and you got yourself your first sale!
- NewChar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5If we report this will anything actually be done?
- TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Bring on round 678 of iphone rumors.

Are you insinuating that Apple had mp3 player experience when they released the iPod?? I don't care who manufactured it, Apple designed every aspect of the iPod, inside and out, with no expirence in that market and look how that tunred out. - striker1211, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hon Hai Precision = Foxconn btw
- heydigital, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So does this mean scratched screens and batteries that last a year?
- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Treja Vu?
- DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The reply button is your friend.
- exobyte, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Cell phones are a lot more complicated than an mp3 player. Battery consumption is a much bigger concern, signal strength, etc.
mp3 players are very easy to make, as demonstrated by the numerous models and manufacturers out there. Cell phones are limited to a handful of companies. A functional mp3 player is a ECE senior design project. True, this neglects the UI, but it takes about 5 people a semester to make an mp3 player. - Fengpost, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@exobyte
Hon Hai manufactures for Nokia and Motorola, I would not call them inexperienced. - MizuKitsune, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Hon Hai Precision = Foxconn btw"
Oh wow. This is rather unexpected. And they've been making Apple products for a while? ...then why are all the Heatsink fans on every PC at work die so damn often? They obviously have the capacity to build a quality product.
On that note, Foxconn is getting into the Motherboard market with some cheap performance boards. Not going to be considered by me for many many years though. - pengu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Oh yeah. and i'm negotiating a contract to construct the "true" video ipod next year for them, made from al-dente fettucine and kalamatta olives, with a hint of lime juice, and some pine nuts. salt and pepper will be available from third party suppliers.
- lukeinnj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0@striker1211...thanks...somebody had to say it and i was tryin to hold back.
- regeya, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2As bad as people are getting their panties in a bunch, it's amazing that it got enough diggs to get to the front page

//seriously, digg down and stfu

////hate apple? don't read the f'n story - cinnix, on 10/12/2007, -8/+6iDoubt it.
- DucksofAnaheim, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0It`ll be ROKR flop all over again ;)
- flag564, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2It will be confirmed as many times as necessary to keep the story alive and to keep Apple rumor sites page views up.
- tinkertoy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Instead of a phone that can play tunes, how about a bullsh*t detector so you can tell if the other guy is feeding you a load? How about a collision proximity detector that warns you in case you're driving and yakking on the phone and about to run into the back of that semi in front of you? How about something REALLY USEFUL for a change rather than rehashing the same technology onto a new platform?
