- BeingHuman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7OK, you're just running around digging iPhone posts and asking people to digg that one. How do I report this guy?
- hadimirza, on 03/26/2008, -0/+4wait, then does this mean we can use the iPhone up here in canada? excluding visual vociemail, and other stuff.
- meleemaster500, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3"I open at the close"? :)
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Lets do that for the 360 too. And the Wii! and the PS3!
And windows! And Ubuntu! And OSX! And Ron Paul! Soon we will take away what makes digg special and make it another message board! Yay! - amfantasy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I have a feeling apple is going to release a firmware update and screw everything over. I think this is getting a little out of hand now.
- rhylan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Looks like i'll be the first one then to say well done chaps, only a matter of time eh? I can't wait to see what they do next

- dgblackout, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5it's just a ***** nice phone, live with it.
don't buy one if you don't like it, but don't piss people off about it. - Mischa, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Wouldn't worry about it.
Apparently the data speeds in the US are so abhorrent that you would mostly surf the nex on wifi anyways.
So it'd be the same i suppose. - zweben, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If it's unlocked, you'll be able to use it anywhere that uses the same wireless standards, so yes, no reason it shouldn't work in Canada.
From what i've heard, though, you get raped on data rates in Canada, and no cheap AT&T plan, so that'll run some of the fun unfortunately. - mglmouser, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'll tell you how much this thing isn't overpriced.
About 4 years ago I had bought a Samsung SPH A500. it promised full interop with the computer for synching data and Java-based API to code extra programs, had web (WAP) access and a bunch of features wich I thought were important to me. I paid ~400CDN to get the phone (unlocked CDMA) and an extra 50$ to get the synch cable.
The software never reached Mac as the company that has exclusive rights to Samsung's line decided never to port (after i bought the phone of course) and I was basically stuck with a phone whose only usefulness was dialing out and reaching WAP servers. I had to syn data via downloading off a custom WAP server I had and basically the whole thing was a mess.
I replaced the damn phone with a GSM, unlocked 1gig ROKR (E1) phone wich I ordered from Hong Kong. That phone allows me to transfer data in and out my Mac via bluetooth and sync about 50 songs from iTunes. It plays DRM-locked iTunes content without having to fuss around with decrypting. It also does WAP web but I gave up on that crap since the A500. The ROKR had cost me about 500$CDN. And still today, I think it serves me well and was worth the money. Except I wish it did more.
This Jesus phone as the naysayer like to call it, will do everything my ROKR does, 100 times better and faster (the ROKR is a slow dog in the menus, including iTunes software), allow me to take more decent pictures (ROKR has VGA), sync way more songs AND play video, and bring me back to the web. Heck. My home machine's web server is waiting like mad to be used as a remote station for the iPhone.
Yep. It's worth it's price if, like me, you dont care to fuss around with syncing ("it just works") and dont want to carry 2 devices.
But *****. I'm in Canada so... get the damn NOR decoded already folks! - MasterThief117, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2*Bury
- Randinn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1LOL, what?!?!? Just how insecure are you???
- FadieZ, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3Don't piss people off about how amazing it is and I'll gladly shut the ***** up.

- MasterThief117, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Oh, I thought you meant buried it.
- xike, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1That requires a hefty dose of SJ's reality distortion field.
- rauz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2You can dislike the iPhone and the crazy amount of stories about it here on Digg all you want but it's not just a phone. Whichever way you look at it it's more than that, doesn't matter if you think it does those other things in a good or bad way.
- mancat, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Well they're only slow because Apple seriously dropped the ball on 3G support.
Here I am browsing digg at a little over 1MBit/sec on my 3G EVDO card in my laptop. All iPhone users could have been doing the same thing if Apple didn't choke. - andy2na, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1hardcore apple fanboy detected
- FadieZ, on 10/10/2007, -12/+11iPhone - Just a ***** phone.
- rauz, on 10/10/2007, -8/+1Uh, no?
- RandoTheKing, on 10/10/2007, -9/+2Quit making a new post about the iPhone. Make 1 post and update it with comments, *****.
