- LegendarySock, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16So, the Germans get the iPhone, and us Canadians get the finger.
- kingkilr, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17My guess: he's in canada.
- Trihalo, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12dugg for saying Ze because it's hilarious, studying abroad for the win
- YouKnowWho, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8the T-mobile service infrastructure in Germany and Europe has no links with the service infrastructure in the US. So I would guess that's a No.
- Udon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Everyone do not worry. There will be an unlocked 3G iPhone produced by Apple. Why? Because Apple intends to sell the iPhone in Finland ... and ... the Finnish laws require that there must be an unlocked version of any phone available for customers. So order your iPhone from Finland.
- brjndr, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Don't worry, eh, I'm sure you'll be getting one soon too, eh.
- bromac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Yes, ze fact zat ze Germans cannot pronounce ze English "Th" sound is quite hilarious.
Zen again, so is hearing Englischsprachers trying to say "Ch" auf Deutsch. Especially when zey spit when zey do it. - NewOntario, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Here's a good question: Can an iPhone sold for T-Mobile Germany be used on T-Mobile in the US?
- spezi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5No. T-Mobile is called T-Mobile. "T-Punkt" are the shops of Deutsche Telekom, which sell the products of their fixed line and wireless (T-Mobile) businesses.
- BZKyle, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Ill look for my own porn. Asstard.
- 4ndr3w, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Why don't Canadians stop blaming Apple and talk to their cell providers about unlimited data plans?
- meatmcguffin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Don't mention the joke! You mentioned it once but i think you got away with it
- JeremyBanks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I don't think AT&T operates in Germany...
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+8Last year, I made a 37 second call using T-Mobile Germany using my CC. They charged me over $30 . ***** them.
- zcreem, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Lucky Canada, you think this is better.
- ICasualty, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2T-Mobile is probably one of the cheaper carriers atleast in the US. I hope the T-Mobile US will get the iPhone soon too :D
- mercurysquad, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4No. Sie with a capital S means they or you (respectful). sie with a small s means she.
- zlintux, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Well, at the beginning of a sentence it is capitalised no matter its meaning.
Sie means "You" in a formal context (plural or singular), "they" or "she". If it is the formal "you", then it is indeed always capitalised..
nun, verpisst ihr.. - one111one1one11, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Great, so now all Germans will make us Dutchies jealous when they enjoy their iPhones on our hollowed-out beaches.
- bromac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Why doesn't Apple talk to them for us?
Seemed to work with AT&T. - QuorumCall, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Sehr gut!
- skyfox2k, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Zay do NOTHING!
- whistlerpro, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2No iPhone for you.
- moofree, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3We've seen how Germany vs everyone else plays out a couple of times now, and everyone else wins... for now.
- norbiu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1What about countries that don't have iTunes? Can we just buy it without the contract, directly from the Apple store? Then use iActivator or whatever and then unlock it?
- piwy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3No he doesn't. Joke much? (watch Snatch for a fine example of this stereotype)
- SebHughes, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yipeee For Finland.
- ChillEnt, on 10/10/2007, -8/+9I'm moving to Germany.
- mkberg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1How do you know that Apple intends to launch it in Finland anytime soon? It's a rather small market and Nokia's home turf with their unreal market share and user devotion. Plus the laws you mentioned. I would assume it's not one of their top priorities.
Oh, how I wish I were wrong. - whistlerpro, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Thanks but we knew already.
- grayapple, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Doesn't really help when he doesn't live in the UK :(.
- Udon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Apple launches all of their products in all European countries. Also the iPhone is already listed in some finnish web stores. Also Finland is a rich country with a lot of potential buyers.
- Eccohawk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Though, if you wanted, you could probably start a contract in germany with t-mobile, and then tell them you're moving to the us, and have them unlock the phone for you and give you a new sim.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yep the iphone going to Germany with same specs.
But oops people dont wanna be logging in everywhere in wifi, and still no 3G !!!
Europe already has been laughing at the USA iphone goofs for guying it in the first place. - knugen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That's not a nice thing to say, at least go "Verpissen Sie sich, bitte"
- Slaiv, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Dugg for using "Ze" twice in one sentence.
- Thorsten, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1What about Sports? Germany does pretty well there.
Remeber the last WinterOlympics?
Of Football? - whistlerpro, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They can buy an iPod touch and pretend it's an iPhone! Yay!
- jads, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2There's better and cheaper alternatives to BMWs and Volkswagens, but a lot of people are still going to buy a Jetta. Besides, most of the time, better just means 'look at how much tech we can cram into this device' - it's going to be as user friendly as a Christian porn site though.
- Eccohawk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Apple has clearly decided to go with the largest cell provider in each and every country in order to get the largest install base possible. Then, my guess is that a few years down the line, when all the cell provider contracts are up, Apple will not renew with any of them, become its own service provider, and walk away with all those iphone users that no longer want to be on contract with the likes of O2 or ATT or T-mobile.
- phphreak, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Canada will NEVER get the iPhone with our tyrannical cell phone companies. We pay the highest rates IN THE WORLD!
- Ashtonn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If you ordered the iPhone off ebay or something from Germany would it work with T-Mobile in the U.S.?
Sound's like it should. I hope so.
Yay. - Thorsten, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1true
- trulove, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1and now you can also run ((truphone)) on the iPhone. A real reason to get it!
- grayapple, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1What about the 'smaller' EU nations, will they ever see the iPhone?
- whistlerpro, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Chronologic, too much Hitler on youtube, clearly.
- Hollic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I've gotta say, a Christian porn site would probably be user friendly, just devoid of content...
- Thorsten, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Why don't you get one from th U.S.?
Most canadians live anyway quite close to the border, unlock it done. - joinezz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0=) t-mobile... hab ich jetzt im moment auch.... ich freu mich
coolcool i'm excited... - Thorsten, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0You know its might actually not be so bad.
It didn't state so far any specific contract that you have to get, so any 2 year contract should do it.
So a student could get the 7,50 EUR contract, and the door should also be open for business customers unlike in the U.S. -
