- StephenCIreland, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3chances are theyll do an internet activated credit system like the nokia bb5 people do, so were going to have to run usb probing, ethernet probing, traffic sniffing and an app decompile to get this working, i suggest we get one technically competent person to buy the hack and release it for all
- nepawoods, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2someone mind explaining the irony?
- conbot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Well, there are already unlocking services out there. This is no surprise.
- nepawoods, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1There is no irony. The iPhone is not free. You have to buy it. But once you buy it, you own it. It is a physical thing that you own, and you can do what you like with it, including unlock it. So what is wrong with buying the tools to unlock it? If you want open source tools, write them.
- Nick5309, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1i disagree. These guys truly worked hard to do this, and i would be happy to pay for my unlock, these guys deserve the money for all the effort they put into unlocking it. It's probably not even going to cost that much, so support fellow hackers.
- geminitojanus, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Oh the irony. Do some damned hard work and release it closed source, watch it get pirated in 10 minutes. Do some hard work and release it as open source and get completely ignored.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2If you are going to spend $599 on a phone, a few extra dollars on software to make it work as it should isn't really a problem.
