Human beings are sexual creatures, and as much as culture and religion attempts to hide that fact, it still holds true. This is simply a subjectively entertaining application that tends to categorize people by general characteristics. As wrong as that is, women and men both do it--it is nothing new, and nothing to get offended over.
And I know that some people hate to hear it, but (in nearly every case, except certain circumstances), the first level of attraction toward someone is through physical appearance. A person should be comfortable with their partner's physical appearance, as it is just as much a part of a relationship as emotional intimacy and deep connection.
Meh, generally my rant was directed to some of the comments on that blog.

Most women find me attractive, I don't need openers and closers. I just need to not ***** up the middle part, and I do better then most "players".

I do know one "pickup line" that is actually a good ice breaker. You approach a girl in a bar or social setting, and say "See my friend over there??", pointing to a friend or stranger, "He was wondering if you think I'm cute". Giggles and small talk usually come next.
