- inactive, on 11/21/2008, -24/+418It has MMS and copy paste!.... No, not really
- caleone, on 11/21/2008, -18/+185Apple. Please. What do you want from us? MMS and Copy/Paste. That's all we ask.
- drew52686, on 11/21/2008, -2/+145Seriously, Apple. Wasn't the push notification system supposed to be introduced in SEPTEMBER?!
- macslut, on 11/21/2008, -4/+132It's available when the iPhone Dev Team says Pwnage 2.2 is ready.
- Coolmatt49, on 11/21/2008, -2/+105You raised my hopes and dashed them quite expertly sir, bravo!
- joerod, on 11/21/2008, -7/+96count down till jailbreak starts now.....
- jsreid, on 11/21/2008, -19/+99I am still waiting for MMS... why can every other phone for the past 5 years do it but not an iPhone?
- billyzing, on 11/21/2008, -0/+77My Biggest wish is HORIZONTAL keyboard for TEXTING and EMAILS - My goodness, please apple!!!
- xcelx1023, on 11/21/2008, -5/+79Over the air Podcast downloads, I was waiting for this!
- thorburnkg2, on 11/21/2008, -19/+83MMS PLEASE. Street view is cool, but I would bet money that 99% of iPhone users would place MMS above street view on their laundry list of iPhone complaints.
- gaqua, on 11/21/2008, -0/+55I wouldn't mind it if every one of my friends had a phone that could do email.
Turns out, all my friends have phones that can do MMS except for those of us with iPhones. - 4LeggedtriPod, on 11/21/2008, -6/+58Best part = Disabling auto keypad correction.
- etaubeneck, on 11/21/2008, -0/+50This whole discussion brings me into great conflict with my iPhone. On one hand, it is the greatest single piece of technology I have ever owned. On the other, however, it cannot perform some unreasonably simple functions. I don't regret the purchase yet.
- TheFinaleofSeem, on 11/21/2008, -1/+39Stability and performance improvements in Safari? FINALLY! Here's hoping it's a lot less crash happy. That's about my only gripe with the iPhone. I know a lot of folks want push, but I can live without it. I just want a stable Safari.
- lordtyros, on 11/21/2008, -3/+40@locojones
"so many more steps and time"
lol use an iphone before you make idiotic claims.
1. Take photo
2. Hit "email photo"
3. Select contact
4. Press send - iNoles, on 11/21/2008, -3/+40No Street View for iPod Touch 2.2 updates :(
- JPFlash, on 11/21/2008, -3/+35Anyone else find it funny that all of the images show the iPhone on the T-Mobile network?
- 89vision, on 11/21/2008, -0/+31The sad part is I just got used to it and probably won't go back.
- TheFinaleofSeem, on 11/21/2008, -2/+31@skin
Yeah, just like the first gen iPhone!
Oh, wait... - 4LeggedtriPod, on 11/21/2008, -8/+37Couldn't care less about MMS, Copy and Paste would be nice.... I care more about Flash support more than either.
- inactive, on 11/21/2008, -7/+35http://letmegooglethatforyou.com/?q=Does+iPhone+fi ...
- inactive, on 11/21/2008, -1/+27Shot! It changes all my ducking curse words.
- gotjpeg, on 11/21/2008, -0/+26Where's push?
- lordtyros, on 11/21/2008, -3/+28Not me. I'm actually pretty happy with ***** as is. All I really want is more stability. Safari crashes are some *****.
- d0nkeym0nkey, on 11/21/2008, -2/+26Does it have push notifications?
- 89vision, on 11/21/2008, -3/+25I won't upgrade until it's jailbroken, I can't live without pdanet.
- stoneage, on 11/21/2008, -2/+21I just don't get apple. It's all in the software. Jailbroken phones are so much better, so why doesn't apple make their own software compete with the hacked version of it? Geez, I thought it would be a no brainer.
- r3zonance, on 11/21/2008, -7/+26No because some of the European countries have T-Mobile as the provider.
Remember, just because the America is the only country in the baseball "World Series" doesn't mean America is the world. - Inspiron700m, on 11/21/2008, -6/+24The iPhone Dev Team just responded to the 2.2 firmware update:
http://www.iphoneincanada.ca/unlocking/iphone-dev- ... - rumblestrut, on 11/21/2008, -0/+18Any word on if it fixed that bug that caused photos to be attached to outgoing e-mails?
- omarciddo, on 11/21/2008, -2/+20Great, I can download individual episodes but I still can't subscribe to new podcasts, awesome! Oh, what's this? The episodes I download on my iPod Touch won't sync back into my iTunes, now that's just dandy!
Come on Apple. Oh, and one more thing, why still the separate buttons for App Store and iTunes Store? Bundle them together idiots, I don't want to take up two of the four places on my dock for stores! I swear, for all their bells and whistles, this company seriously lacks some common sense. - _skin_, on 11/21/2008, -7/+243.0... You'll need to upgrade the handset for that one.
- inactive, on 11/21/2008, -0/+17Because it's already been jailbroken.
- Seidoger, on 11/21/2008, -0/+16One of the changes: "Pressing home button twice brings you to the FIRST home screen"
Oh wow, THANK YOU!
-- A guy with 7 pages of apps - Seidoger, on 11/21/2008, -0/+16I also ask for mode use of the landscape-mode keyboard (like in Mail)
It's so much easier to type on. - FoxtrotYankee, on 11/21/2008, -0/+15There won't ever be MMS support in the US. Stop crying for it. It's a dogmatic thing with Apple. Their attitude on this is (more quietly) the same as @StealthMonkey. They think everyone *should* have a phone with e-mail and so they're not going to architect their phone to accommodate people without e-mailing phones. They're "skating to where the puck will be".
Don't flame me for this, I'm not saying Apple's right here. I'm just saying this is the way it is.
I think they just put MMS on the iPhone in Sweeden, but I expect that's because they detected the Sweedish government was going to make them do it anyhow. - hiro, on 11/21/2008, -1/+16What?? You have them on your dock?? I don't even have them on my first page!
- stoneage, on 11/21/2008, -3/+18MMS should be available on all phones until the networks phase it out, not the phones themselves.. And if not, at least allow us to email multiple photos at a time.. Add an ATTACH option when composing messages and other BASIC FUNCTIONS.
- redstorm986, on 11/21/2008, -0/+15Yes
- garf12, on 11/21/2008, -0/+15that will never happen the iPhone is GSM Sprint is CDMA
- TheFinaleofSeem, on 11/21/2008, -0/+15Well, Safari performance is DEFINITELY improved! Much more responsive when loading a page! Usually when it was loading Digg, there'd be some lag as I'd try moving around or zooming. Very little of that anymore. It's much snappier. Still don't know about stability, but I have high hopes.
- merdok, on 11/21/2008, -0/+14A fair amount of Europe has the phone on T-Mobile, its not that amazing really :)
- nardo510, on 11/21/2008, -1/+15I completely agree I don't really care for my MMS. They need to make it so Safari wont crash on you.
- JasonCox, on 11/21/2008, -2/+15After how Apple bitched the iPhone 3G's launch (mainly because OS 2.0 wasn't ready), I'd prefer they take all the time they need to get Push Notifications done right instead of releasing another Windows ME of iPhone OS updates.
- StealthMonkey, on 11/21/2008, -33/+46Why do people want MMS so bad? Its called ***** email. How often do you want to send pictures anyway? I just don't get it. Copy and paste... now that would be nice. But that can get in line behind fixing fetch (which apparently they did... we'll see shortly).
- joerod, on 11/21/2008, -2/+15damn, i bet it will be here by 3.0
- r3zonance, on 11/21/2008, -0/+13Which is a good thing.
Auto-correct is required a lot more, than it is annoying. - alecks, on 11/21/2008, -0/+12Event without MMS, i'd be perfectly happy if the link to view the MMS, had the ***** userid & password in the URL as a querystring. That way I could just click it, and it would open it up in safari.
- slogged, on 11/21/2008, -1/+13Marketing calls this "Feature Creep".
Companies, like Apple, design products with features missing so that the next version has significant advantages over previous models. Apple wants you to upgrade to the iPhone 4G, or whatever, and will implement these features at that time so that you'll upgrade. Vehicle manufacturers do this quite often, actually designing missing/flawed features into vehicles, so that the next year's models are worth the cost of an upgrade for its customers.
Right out of my Fundamentals of Marketing textbook...
I've posted this in several places in these comments, but I really think people need to be aware of why Apple will likely not implement these features on the iPhone 3G--and how Apple is just as crafty and evil as Microsoft, despite what apple fanboys say - etaubeneck, on 11/21/2008, -0/+12If you go to this link, the second result from Google is "this" page. It's like when you use Newton's Method to find the value of a function at c, but you get caught going back and forth between two different numbers.
