- obey43, on 01/01/2008, -0/+37i also wanna know whats holding back having landscape keyboard for sms, mail, notes etc instead of just safari...
- inactive, on 01/02/2008, -7/+22Is his 15 minutes up yet? I'm a little tired of this gadget wannabe thug milking his exclusive access to a leaked/stolen firmware update.
Apple should just release the damn thing to quiet drown out this bottom feeder.
Just sayin. - AceTracer, on 01/01/2008, -2/+10 GearLive's server goes down more often than a toothless hooker. Why do they keep milking this cow if they can't handle the traffic?
- vincenzo7, on 01/01/2008, -1/+8sounds like that silly commercial with the "human" sounding song. yes i love my iPhone but yes i can imagine a world without Apple. Up until this year, I've lived my life Apple free. If i had to go back, I definitely wouldn't kill myself.
- Dylson, on 01/02/2008, -0/+6You drive and text? Do you want to die or something?

- Dylson, on 01/02/2008, -1/+6Why is everyone going ga ga over this update?
- Veni_Vidi_Vici, on 01/01/2008, -1/+6But is it hackable?
- adriaaan, on 10/12/2008, -0/+4Because it may let us work out an unlock for iPhones with version 4.6 bootloaders... also SpringBoard pagination and Maps.app triangulation is (IMO) awesome.
- vincenzo7, on 01/01/2008, -0/+3i'll second that. when i first read this story last week, and it said "features that should have been in since day one", i thought....horizontal flip for everything?
- tachikara, on 01/01/2008, -0/+3Keep up with the updated Apple. Each update opens up applications, and fine tunes the best phone.
- darlyn, on 01/02/2008, -2/+5We're good, then.
- DarkDx, on 01/02/2008, -0/+2He means when his dad is driving and he's in the back seat.
- beerbarron, on 01/01/2008, -0/+2I can see some of this being a prep for when they release the applications in februrary
- obey43, on 01/01/2008, -2/+4i wanna know if you can take the 1.1.3 apps (specifically google maps) and put it on 1.1.2, don't feel like uninstalling 3rd party apps just for that.
- redxii, on 01/02/2008, -1/+3Don't be chatting and driving at the same time.
Anyway, why don't you guys get a phone that allows 3rd-party apps? And those who like using Windows or whatever are being called masochists... - dagamer34, on 01/01/2008, -0/+2Well, people have done that as that's the SMS fix for 1.1.1 when dealing with international alphanumeric characters. Works just fine for me. But we'd still need to get access to the phone itself. However, the iTunes Music store fails to work on 1.0.2, so Apple still might trump us.
- slayerab, on 01/02/2008, -0/+2Dugg you up because you were kidding, right?
- slayerab, on 01/02/2008, -0/+1And I'm not eating pork until pigs fly
- skeen07, on 01/01/2008, -0/+1The answers: just watch the video.
- srg13, on 01/02/2008, -0/+1Or MS-DOS...
- piwy, on 01/02/2008, -0/+1Well... you did use a personal computer tho. Something that without Apple would've probably taken a little bit more time to arrive.
- MrViklund, on 01/02/2008, -0/+1No questions need to be answered. Everything will be clear when 1.1.3 is released.
- br0ken1128, on 01/02/2008, -1/+2The new firmware seems mostly fluff, the only cool feature I see in there is the triangulation in google maps, which is cool and all but after so long I'd have expected something a bit more substantial.. I almost suspect these smaller releases are often just to break (err.. fix) hacks and they include tiny features which are meant to be dangling cheese so you go through the upgrade.
The one thing I want is MMS, e-mail works ok I guess but unless you're using teleflip then you have to know how to build that e-mail address! it's so much easier to just take a picture and send it to a telephone number.. no need to work out the rest! besides, when I tried using teleflip to send to a friend of mine on verizon, they never would get the messages.. if I put my sim card in another unlocked handset that I have and sent them an MMS message it went through just fine... there are advantages to MMS in that it's very widely supported by other handsets and it's a lot easier to use, just send to a number.. there's no reason it should have been excluded if you ask me.
http://www.digg.com/apple/New_version_of_Swirly_MM ... .. this is getting to be a better and better application, it currently supports sending (now even works on tmobile usa) .. and receiving should be working sometime this month! if you've not checked it out, you should at least give it a look.. no I'm not with these guys, and it's not spamming.. I'm just excited about it. - mysql101, on 01/01/2008, -2/+2with google map triangulation (fake GPS), 1.1.3 will be loaded onto my 1.1.1 jailbroken phone. The only jailbreak app that I'll miss is the AIM chat program. But the app disconnects as I drive around, so I won't miss it too much.

http://duggmirror.com//apple/iPhone_1_1_3_question ... - xkorbin, on 01/02/2008, -4/+3No, but it will blend.
- adriaaan, on 10/12/2008, -1/+01.1.3 won't even install on an iPhone with a modified baseband... (i.e. unlocked)
...so no I guess. - Inspiron700m, on 01/02/2008, -3/+1Too bad Canadians don't have the iPhone yet. But you know what, this cat and mouse game will continue on...
www.iphoneincanada.ca - tips, tricks, and news for Canadian iPhone users - neckaros, on 01/01/2008, -6/+4Is it true that upgrading to 1.1.3 from an unlocked iPhone brick it?
- inactive, on 01/02/2008, -5/+2the author looks like morpheus
- MaverickC17, on 01/02/2008, -4/+1The only way I will be going legit is if Apple has a NES & GameBoy Emulator and some really good competing apps that are already available. Until then, I'm keeping jail broken 1.1.1 :-)
- inactive, on 01/01/2008, -6/+2innovations? what innovations?
- Blacky, on 01/01/2008, -5/+1You don't have to be an apple user to miss apple, without apple there would be a lot less competition, a lot less inovation, imagine a world where we would still be stuck on windows millenium ...
- mets91, on 01/01/2008, -11/+6Pretty bland...stick to your jailbroken iPhone.
- tastethevenom, on 01/02/2008, -7/+1iPhone suggestions here: http://www.fevote.com/apple/iphone
- internetworld7, on 01/01/2008, -13/+6It has become quite apparent, without the innovations that Apple has brought to the technology world, we would still be in the stone ages. Could you honestly imagine a world without Apple? Without the iPhone? Without the iPod? Without the Mac? Without Steve Jobs?
Wow, I almost shot myself just thinking about it. Frightening! - yocheo, on 01/01/2008, -17/+3I'll save all you guys the trouble:
version 1.1.3 = *****
