Update : SMS and Bluetooth issues resolved.
Update : iPhone modem firmware updated to 4.0.4.05_G from 4.03.13_G which boosts cellular reception.
Safari now preserves previously visited pages when you relaunch it instead of showing white pages.
Google Maps Location feature posing issues locating properly. (Not Confirmed)

- jdubyah, on 02/27/2008, -0/+10I am currently running a Jailbroken 1.1.4 phone and I can confirm the following:
SMS issues have been fixed and the database structure has remained the same (I placed my old db file).
Safari preserves visited pages.
Google Maps does a better job of locating (I think they have changed the level of precedence of Wifi and Cell towers)
WebClips now will not just launch a new tab but first check if this tab is currently open (very nice).
WebClips also do not add a new tab at the very end when one is launched, but right next to your last tab open.
I did not notice a speed increase - there are other reports of this but I have not noticed any change. (went from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4)
CPU speed has remained at 412 MHz.
Working 3rd Party apps I know of: Sketches, Sysinfo, iSMS, SMSD, funiculus, BossPrefs, MobileChat
Apps that don't work completely: BossTool (iPod Wiper) - viewofeverlast, on 02/27/2008, -0/+9If this is indeed the update readying us for SDK apps, then it looks like the issue of applications running on an iPhone is no longer of much concern, whether they are from Installer.app or iTunes.
Fingers crossed! - f3l1x, on 02/27/2008, -1/+10http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/2008/02/11246unlock ...

"ZiPhone is a conglomerate of others work." - mariodelgado, on 02/27/2008, -1/+8yay, hopefully it will work for the touch soon
- jdubyah, on 02/27/2008, -0/+7The current Zibri will only Jailbreak. (No activation and no unlock) So do not use if you are a rogue iPhone user. Ha

credit where credit is due. - charlestoN1, on 02/27/2008, -1/+7it already does
- damnyooneek, on 02/27/2008, -0/+4March 6th. You heard it from me first.
- Shreyasva, on 02/27/2008, -0/+4this is the best reason i have heard to upgrade to 1.1.4
- jkr801, on 02/27/2008, -0/+4dugg your own grave with that link...
- WiseWeasel, on 02/27/2008, -4/+8Just you (though I give mad props to Zibri for a working 1.1.3 jailbreak)...
- badqat, on 02/27/2008, -0/+4How so? Including today, there are three days left. Not including today there are still two days left.
- 4ZERO1, on 02/27/2008, -0/+3I would love to hear a response from TUAW! for jumping the gun, and "possibly" breaking users phones. Please wait for an official announcement, i am sure it wont be long.
- terrablebyte, on 02/27/2008, -0/+3Not for the 16GB model.
- damnyooneek, on 02/27/2008, -0/+3apple event on march 6th.
- Reaktor5, on 02/27/2008, -1/+4GTFO
- PPCG4, on 02/27/2008, -0/+3How bout iPod touch?
- J3R3MY, on 02/27/2008, -0/+3No, you can update a jailbroken iphone. That's how the OktoPrep worked.
- damnyooneek, on 02/27/2008, -0/+2the SMS and Bluetooth is probably fixed but safari doesn't preserve when more than 4 tabs are open. Try it yourself. Also my reception looks the same.
- badqat, on 02/27/2008, -1/+3But everyone wants to comment on it?
- catmistake, on 02/28/2008, -0/+2You are being too kind. Apparently, he is (allegedly) under investigation by Italian authorities for fraud. Passing off work that belongs to others is criminal, even if its free. And I wouldn't expect any kind of meaningful support if you choose to use it.
Its recommended that you not use that patched together app, it is pretty buggy. Mac users can use iNdependence (1.4b5) http://code.google.com/p/independence/
or if you are on Windows, you should probably wait for a soon to be released application that isn't illegal.
"It's just like when Gary Numan said, 'You're just a view of cold and distant. You are just business. You're worthless.'" - Tollboi, on 02/28/2008, -0/+2WARNING! yes it will jailbreak the iphone still but it will not unlock for use with other sim cards. I have seen it first hand. As far as I can tell there is no added benifit to updating to 1.1.4 regardless.
- PPCG4, on 02/27/2008, -0/+2Does this mean that if I jailbroke with ZiPhone, I can safely update to 1.1.4?
- litolist, on 02/27/2008, -0/+2I'll charge you a $100 premium if you're down. :-D
- Canuck, on 02/27/2008, -1/+3You could make the same comment of just about everything that is classified as news on Digg. There are always going to be topics or articles that people will think are not news to them.
If you don't think it is news, then don't read the article. - Switch07, on 02/27/2008, -0/+1Yep, it doesn't matter the method you used before, but most of your apps and all of your app data should still be there after the jump.
- orph3us, on 02/27/2008, -1/+2Hopefully he is giving credit, but zibri's method was the first all in one easy method out there. That's gotta be worth something. I hope all the devs can come together and embrace zibri. He's got everything packaged together. His app is just as necessary as their work. They all need to work together and stop fighting. Let me just say that before zibri's app, i was unable to jailbreak after upgrading to 1.1.3 .. that's worth something :)
- Tollboi, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1WARNING! yes it will jailbreak the iphone still but it will not unlock the phone for use with other sim cards.
- f3l1x, on 02/27/2008, -5/+6isn't ziphone a repacked version of geohot's jailbreak? i'm looking at what its doing and its like WTF.. seriously, this is why i stopped ***** with the wannabe iphone hackers scene. If anyone can confirm that this is really all zibri's work then please, let me know but don't forget to include some evidence as to how zibri uses the exact same method by coincidence alone. until then stop giving a douche credit where its not due. zibri's right up there with nate on this one as far as im concerned. (again, until someone can respectfully prove me wrong...) or should i blame sensationalist bloggers?
- zeiben, on 02/27/2008, -0/+1Now if he can just figure out a way for me to download his tool without making me feel like I'm in some creepy warez scheme...
- badqat, on 02/27/2008, -0/+1It works with 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 with no problems. Jailbroke my iPhone with no issues, although I am an at&t subscriber.
- Switch07, on 02/27/2008, -0/+1Yep, Upgraded to 1.1.4 last night and used the ziphone jailbreak. Not only does it work, but I found the upgrade didn't delete a lot of things. About half my apps were still there (but hidden until I installed bosstool). Also All of my ROMS, TTR Songs, and iPhysics levels were still there.
- wontstoptalking, on 02/27/2008, -1/+2Whew. *breathes sigh of relief*
- inactive, on 02/27/2008, -0/+1I used a different jailbreak method for 1.1.3 if i upgrade to 1.1.4 will i lose all my apps? anyone tried it?
- inactive, on 03/01/2008, -0/+1Thanks. I haven't heard anything about the SDK since it was first announced. I was wondering if Apple hoped everyone had forgot about it.
- inactive, on 02/27/2008, -0/+1Nice i will try it tonight, i will back up first
- clpo13, on 02/27/2008, -0/+1Jailbreaking has been a waste of time for me. No clue why I can't download packages, but it just won't work.
- Zybergod, on 02/27/2008, -1/+2Good Lord, it's like you have no idea where you are posting. Do you know where you are? DO YOU?!
.. Sparta? - badqat, on 02/27/2008, -0/+1Most of them will still be there. In my quick experiment, the end result is much nicer if you start with a "factory fresh" phone, but to each their own.
- viewofeverlast, on 02/27/2008, -0/+1Most likely, though if you want to be extra safe, you can always do a restore before you update.
- grifforama, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1I have a 1.1.3 OTB which was upgraded to 1.1.4
I used Zibri to unlock and jailbreak.
It works. - inactive, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1
