        Overpriced and underperforming are the only bad things I've heard about it. And those really aren't bad at all. Overpriced and underperforming attributes are worth the trade off if you honestly need a lightweight laptop.

        maybe its because the patent linked is held by "Catalyst Law Group, APC" and whatever it is was invented by a guy from kentucky and was researched with government funding? I don't think this has anything to do with apple. However, I don't know.. the patent is half legaleze half science-talk neither of which I know much about. What I do know is people have been talking about a chameleon mac patent for years now and I am confident it is vaporware.

If Apple can have one run of iPods that can be any colour, the cost of production may be potentially lower than several runs for all the various colours they have to offer. No more warehouses of pink iPods that nobody wants to buy.

      The ability for the end-user to change the colour is just a nice side effect.

    This idea has a lot of potential, but I don't think that it will be flushed out to that extent and still be affordable.
