- shantanubala, on 10/30/2007, -0/+28Looks like Halo.... Only we need a dude with a sword and a shotgun and we're set. Throw in a helmet as a bonus.
- gsiliceo, on 10/30/2007, -0/+23I REQUEST A VIDEO!
- corporalclegg24, on 10/30/2007, -2/+23Thats sick
- emanpa68, on 10/30/2007, -0/+19a webcam would be a good accessory
- BakedGoods, on 10/31/2007, -5/+23Because a majority of Windows users don't enjoy their PC experience, whereas Mac users feel a strange connect between them and their Macs, prompting a want to do 'cool things' with it. Sounds odd but seriously, the Mac's a lifestyle, not an email checker.
- Godlesswanderer, on 10/30/2007, -1/+13That's so awesome. If only I wasn't poor, I'd buy a Mac just for that.
- zizzy, on 10/30/2007, -2/+13"If only I wasn't poor"
"my gaming PC"
How can you be poor yet have a gaming PC? Unless by that you mean it has Mine sweeper and Solitaire. - Hoxie, on 10/30/2007, -0/+11Short answer: No
Long Answer: No - DelMonte, on 10/30/2007, -0/+10Gotta love Quartz Composer!
It's an amazing tool that got even more amazing in Leopard. - vamos, on 10/30/2007, -0/+10Get a mac mini! They are cheap and silent. You can't even tell it's on.
- BlueStarr, on 10/30/2007, -1/+10Getting my Mac Mini soon....can't wait!
- affanjam, on 10/29/2007, -2/+10Why doesn't windows have cool features like that? Any windows software that can do that
- alien420, on 10/29/2007, -0/+7its a predator.
- Bob042, on 10/30/2007, -0/+7Yes, it tells you to move out of the frame for the background capture, then anything different it filters transparent. (Or whatever the filter is.)
- crazybrit, on 10/30/2007, -0/+6Nope.
- Shorties, on 10/29/2007, -0/+6Because its already has been on the front page... though thats the first time I have seen the final product, wow thats so much closer to the original then I thought apple was going to go, and it looks great!
- omghax, on 10/29/2007, -0/+6Beautiful setup...
- lukee, on 10/30/2007, -0/+6Not Apple's problem, it's Unsanity and its meddling products: http://rixstep.com/2/20071028,00.shtml
- judgeFire, on 10/30/2007, -0/+5The Mac comes with free developer tools, which include gems like Quartz Composer, the app used to make screensavers, iTunes visualizers and now these FX.
- jackyyll, on 10/29/2007, -0/+5ITS A TRAP
- HonoredMule, on 10/30/2007, -0/+5Keep it. I don't know how I'd ever cope with JUST one computer.
- trilorez, on 10/29/2007, -3/+7It would be sweet if it also made the active camo sound effect when enabled.
- arcticblue, on 10/29/2007, -0/+3No, it's the fact that it takes so few diggs to get to the front page for stuff like this, but hundreds of diggs for other stuff. I'm running leopard and I think these effects are cool, but to have each and every new effect that someone makes reach the front page of Digg in 45 diggs just doesn't seem right.
- ij00mini, on 10/30/2007, -0/+3Macrumors forums aren't holding up too well (I got a Server too busy once).
So here's the zip on MegaUpload: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9ZCYCAV3 - arcticblue, on 10/30/2007, -0/+3Yeah, maybe it's because every little story on Macrumors is being submitted to Digg. Digg has almost been an RSS reader for Macrumors lately.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/31/2007, -3/+6I have games on my mac. Therefore, you're wrong
- Godlesswanderer, on 10/30/2007, -0/+3I can't really tell if you hate that it's so many diggs or you hate that it's not enough. 45 is a lot to get to the front page with compared to a couple years ago.
- tdous, on 11/10/2007, -2/+5Fools! Now you should be in NEW THING. NEW THING loves you. NEW THING is shiny. It does not need you, but you need it. You love shiny. NEW THING.
- windohs, on 10/30/2007, -0/+2really? I haven't seen any leopard BSOD at all windows fanboy. Try using a mac instead of reading internet FUD
- moltek, on 10/29/2007, -0/+2Well if you're running some sort of linux there is since loooong ago this app called Effectv that do all of these effects... yes.. the hologram too... if not there is always the OSx86 project !
- kodybryson, on 10/30/2007, -0/+2Yes,
- zizzy, on 10/30/2007, -0/+2Well isn't it obvious what you have to do? Go get another bus to crash while you're on it.
- ronaldpoi, on 10/30/2007, -0/+2Nop. Leopard-only...
- fatmannaltlcoat, on 10/29/2007, -0/+2How does that work I mean do you have to move out of the way take a picture then move in front to get it to make the image.
- aryayush, on 10/29/2007, -1/+2This is teh awesome! :D
- JamaicaJames, on 11/10/2007, -0/+1I digg it. However, the NEW THING in this case is actually really awesome.
- stellarceltic, on 10/29/2007, -0/+1Close. Move out of the way, it scans your backround, then it can tell where to apply the filter because it knows your body/face is not part of the background. You don't need to actually take a picture of your background.
- theundone, on 10/31/2007, -1/+2Are any of these effects available for Photobooth Tiger? For some reason the thought of creating your own effects had never even crossed my mind...
- Godlesswanderer, on 10/29/2007, -0/+1@zizzy
It's the gaming PC that made me poor. Also, the money wasn't mine to begin with. I got it after being on a bus that crashed, which meant that I could (and did) get compensation money. - tdous, on 10/30/2007, -2/+3Ooooooh.. suddenly he's dugg down! Bunch of *****. You know.. he was nice to you trend monkeys 2 minutes ago, jesus! As an aside, that IS awesome but I wouldn't buy a Mac *just* for that. Because I'm not an idiot. Ay!
- BlueStarr, on 10/30/2007, -0/+1Have one already in mind of course. ;P
- moltek, on 10/29/2007, -0/+1true, wassup with that ? Can we pimp our tiger effects ?
- GawtMilk, on 10/29/2007, -0/+1I built a gaming PC out of second hand parts from morons who immedeatly ditched their parts for higher-tech prices.
It cost $739, not including monitor.
Centurion Case
E6600 Overclocked to 3.0GHz
LeadTek 7950GT overclocked to 680MHz and 1800MHz
2 x 1GB Transcend AxeRAM @ 1066MHz
P35 - DS4
It runs Team Fortress 2 at full settings @ 1680 x 1050 and gets ~60FPS. It's a beast. Hooray for the second hand market. - meamog, on 10/30/2007, -2/+2untrue. but it's funny... i never feel the need to distract myself with games when i'm working on my mac. i prefer to spend time working.
- Godlesswanderer, on 10/30/2007, -1/+1Digg me down, double post.
- inactive, on 10/30/2007, -11/+10blar blar blar....halo ... Im really sick of hearing about that game. looks more like predator, if you ask me...
- Pie4Weebl, on 10/30/2007, -7/+6wow we are grasping at straws here for windows hate aren't we, esp seeing as apple seems to be the notable BSOD'er these days.
- xsni, on 10/30/2007, -2/+0I don't see the invisible person, because that wouldn't make any sense
- arcticblue, on 10/30/2007, -5/+1Yeah, I don't know why the submitter put "Hero" in the title. It obviously looks like the invisible effect in Halo.
- Godlesswanderer, on 10/30/2007, -8/+2I'm kind of too attached to my gaming PC.
