ps. I really miss the longer edit allowances. - DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The sharpening technique used in all cameras (even my Canon 1DII) is inferior to what you can achieve in a good image editing program. That's a moot point though because we are talking about sharpening after the action of resizing an image. It's needed because interpolation has an anti-alaising-like effect on images which blurs the edges. Some light sharpening can bring the edges back to where they are supposed to be. Hope that makes sense.
BTW, I realize most people won't care if their resized photos are sharpened but some photo geeks such as myself might. :) - iiimedia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've been needing something like this for a while.
- petervcook, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Does it look like the image has been sharpened? I personally don't like artificially sharpened images. I turn that all the way down when I use a DSLR.
- thewizsps, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hmm, I don't know if I would /always/ want sharpening, but it couldn't hurt as an option.
- ste3v3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is probably the most productive widget I've ever used
- petervcook, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A great widget. One of my favorites
- DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Does it sharpen the image after it resizes? If not, it's missing an important step. And before anyone asks, yes, you are supposed to sharpen images even after downsizing.
