- X9001, on 12/28/2007, -11/+150I buried this article the moment I read "Can you imagine a world before the iPhone? It's difficult, isn't it?"
- tarmithius, on 12/28/2007, -3/+73You used a keyboard to type that message and you could not even spell qwerty correctly?
- hydroplane, on 12/28/2007, -17/+72Fanboys are tools
- AZooYorkMystery, on 12/28/2007, -4/+55"Can you imagine a world before the iPhone? It's difficult, isn't it?"
It's not that hard really; you just imagine digg.com minus constant jailbreak breakthroughs and problems and plus a new rumor/iphone mockup every day that will be shot through by the end of the week. That's pretty much it. - daggah, on 12/28/2007, -8/+56"Can you imagine a world before the iPhone? It's difficult, isn't it?"
Uh...yeah? I can. Buried for being Apple fanboy spam. - ayeroxor, on 12/28/2007, -3/+37Exactly. What the ***** is this: "Can you imagine a world before the iPhone? It's difficult, isn't it?"
No you little self-absorbed bitches. It's not. - Tanktunker, on 12/28/2007, -11/+39Obligatory http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=ip ...
- oomwrtu, on 12/28/2007, -0/+28Glad someone else has some sense and doesn't give in to sensationalist titles.
- cave, on 12/28/2007, -3/+25Companies like to compete with themselves. They want you to load up their website and ask yourself "Which Sony Ericsson cell phone should I buy?", instead of "Which brand cellphone should I buy?". Decreasing the number of models directly increases how much people compare products of different brands and sparks up competition between companies, which is what they dread the most. Apple on the other hand seems to not worry about that, and they usually come out on top. Another case of confidence breeding success perhaps?
- slvrbullet87, on 12/28/2007, -6/+21I can remember the days before the iPhone... it used to be i wanted to punch about 1 out of 100,000 people i saw. Now i want to punch several thousand because they wont shut the ***** up about their iPhone. Most of which dont use any of the functions and constantly have to clean it to be able to see the screen.
- PhantomRogue, on 12/28/2007, -2/+17Uhh, the only reason the iPhone 'ruled' over the iPod, is that the iPhone was new. The iPod was only a new generation. People like totally new Products over newer versions of old products.
- Tanktunker, on 12/28/2007, -2/+14capt is shorthand for captain.
- theskyman, on 12/28/2007, -6/+18"Can you imagine a world before the iPhone? It's difficult, isn't it?"
Dude get a life! - doofusoftheday, on 12/28/2007, -16/+28iPhone, where are you? Still haven't seen one live. Can't be ruling too much as I see plenty of those ipods every day.
- emomakesmecry, on 12/28/2007, -3/+14C'mon, the iPhone really isn't very big. It's plenty thin and slips in and out of a pocket easily enough. There are plenty of things wrong with the iPhone, but the size isn't one of them.
- tarmithius, on 12/28/2007, -1/+11exactly my point capt obvious. Still dugg you up though.
- Genady, on 12/28/2007, -0/+10"Can you imagine a world without hypothetical situations?"
- michlibrarian, on 12/28/2007, -1/+10The best thing IPhone is good at is marketing. I can imagine life totally without Iphone. I see thousands of students most days and IPhones are rare. It's a lot of money for something that can be had for much cheaper.
- kweeky, on 12/28/2007, -1/+10Dugg you for poetic truth.
- JasonCox, on 12/28/2007, -10/+18I don't know about anyone else, but I'm still happy with my $50 dollar cell phone I got from Sprint. It has a fully featured brower (Opera), 1GB of storage for my music, and a whole bunch of other crap including GPS. If I wanted a phone that huge I'd fire up my DeLorean and go back to 1999 and grab one.
- dgh1973, on 12/28/2007, -3/+11Yeah the iphone was cool and all... but it's not the second coming. Give it a rest already.
Like it, respect it, cherish it... whatever - just stop worshiping it already. - Tanktunker, on 12/28/2007, -7/+15See, you don't even need to spell qwerty, you just run your finger across the first half of the upper row of your keyboard.
There is no reason anybody, even an untrained chimp, should get that wrong. - cadmiumpaint, on 12/28/2007, -1/+9i see at least a dozen people with them every day. maybe you dont live in a big city?
- Elranzer, on 12/28/2007, -4/+11There are stylish people in India?
- jiludi, on 12/28/2007, -3/+10I can imagine
still haven't died not having one however many months after it came out - Chirp08, on 12/28/2007, -4/+11its only overrated to the tech savvy, to your parents or your average person its ***** amazing, and thats the sad truth. why do you think they are selling so well?
- Elranzer, on 12/28/2007, -5/+12I thought that was the ONLY reason that iPhone owners existed in the first place.
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -16/+23This article is dumb.
The Iphone ruled 2007 because consumers are complete idiots and impulse buyers. It does nothing other phones can do for a lesser price. NOTHING.
The Iphone worked because of a very good marketing and merchandising campaign. Even that limit of one per person when it originally came out was designed to make you run to the store like a blithering idiot to get one as soon as possible, no matter the cost. You didn't even compare it with other products, did you?
Surprise, surprise, no Iphone shortage.
"The iPhone is a piece of *****, and so is your face." A comparative study by a modern pirate:
http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=ip ... - creep303, on 12/28/2007, -5/+11Yawn. No 3G = not worth it.
- FredFredrickson, on 12/28/2007, -1/+7Does anyone besides the worst-of-the-worst, frothing-at-the-mouth Apple fanboys consider the iPhone to be such a great thing? I really don't understand it myself - I mean, it's a phone, same as your old phone, but with a better looking, touch sensitive interface. At the end of the day, it's not a very big innovation... at all.
- kweeky, on 12/28/2007, -1/+7I was amused by "all be it".
- swingsetacid, on 12/28/2007, -1/+7Even Paris Hilton wouldn't make a Paris Hilton joke these days.
- trer, on 12/28/2007, -0/+6"Can you imagine a world before the iPhone?"
Yes. I remember the world from my day of birth until June 28, 2007. - sesstreets, on 12/28/2007, -4/+9"Can you imagine a world before the iPhone? It's difficult, isn't it?"
Quite easily, in fact I preferred it. All this nonsense thrown into a locked in phone that does little too nothing new. - superkendall, on 12/28/2007, -1/+6That's the idea but not what actually happens. Instead people take loads of time deciding whch Ericcson to compare against whatever else they are thinking of, and sometimes they just give up if there are too many choices.
- rootnik, on 12/28/2007, -1/+6What's an iphone?
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -0/+5it still isnt worth the money it costs.
- aelias, on 12/28/2007, -0/+4I can easily imagine it. I've seen two so far, for a total of less than 5 minutes. I have never even touched one. Looks awesome. Can't wait for the 60GB version of the ipod touch. ***** a phone. I have a two year old ev-do phone streaming a data connection over bluetooth. Try that ***** with a Jesus Phone.
- bmorlok, on 12/28/2007, -0/+4I got the new ipod for xmas and I think it is great. The its like a higher capacity i-phone without AT&T's questionable service.
- captoftheworld, on 12/28/2007, -3/+7A wold before iPhones is a world before Douche-dom completely took over.
- FredFredrickson, on 12/28/2007, -1/+5Or one where people value usefulness over bling.
- Nerfdude, on 12/28/2007, -0/+3and they'll love this article. not only is it an iphone article, but within three paragraphs, it's bashing Vista for some reason.
- lnxfi, on 12/28/2007, -6/+9"Can you imagine a world before the iPhone? It's difficult, isn't it?"
I preferred the world before the iPhone. There were less d-bags in public. - slinky317, on 12/28/2007, -0/+3"Can you imagine a world before the iPhone?"
Um, yes? With how "popular" the iPhone is, I can say I've only see about two or three people using one in the many months since it's been released. It has not changed the world and the only people that absolutely love it are Apple and Apple fanboys. - inactive, on 12/28/2007, -0/+3Thanks for making that important statement.
- triskele, on 12/28/2007, -0/+3Try looking into Palm, HTC, Blackberry, Nokia, etc. PDA/phones. Personally I've owned BB (8700g and Pearl) and Nokias(6620) and they both supported "real" internet. I also have friends and relatives who've had and still have various Palms and HTCs and they both have "real" internet as well as. It's just that the average consumer is used to the free crap phone they get when they sign their contract, or after two years when they're due for an upgrade, which is usually a horrible phone let alone an internet device. Apple advertised the ***** outta the iPhone. How many commercials do you see for Nokia, HTC, Palm, and Blackberry? Few if any.
- DephexTwin, on 12/28/2007, -3/+6Thanks capt--- I see what you did there.
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -3/+6yes I CAN imagine a world before the OVERHYPED iPhone... buried for lame description
- skidooer, on 12/28/2007, -2/+5So did I. The Touch. While I think it's quite possibly the greatest computer I've ever owned, I wish I would have held out for the iPhone (it's not available here yet) because I really miss having internet access when I'm away from a WiFi connection.
- FredFredrickson, on 12/28/2007, -2/+5The only impact it had was to better interface humans with machines. Other than that, it's the same phone as the one you had before. Quit acting like it's ***** turned your life around, because if it has, yo must have had a pretty ***** life before.
