BARBARIANS I TELL YOU
BARBARIANS
*breaks down and starts crying.* - Daniel001, on 10/10/2007, -24/+62hey, this is gonna be great for Vista users who want to switch to a better OS with minimum fuss.
- NerveBand, on 10/10/2007, -0/+20Honestly, that was a well done flash app.
- danny951, on 10/10/2007, -2/+22Wow, sure takes me back! Well done.
- maxsunset, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15Wasn't 7 in color?
- sprash, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11A colored version:
http://www.andreagrell.de/myoldmac/ - kevnaca, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Boots up pretty quickly. That is one fast computer for its time.
- wackymacs, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9This is old, but it's still worth a digg.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -6/+11Well, some people can find happiness eating a ***** sandwich. Enjoy!
- Irfit, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6This just made me boot my old powerbook 520c. Ohh the old times.
- Ioncannon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I have seen people use the eye program on their Mac OS. Just a question, WHY? Looks annoying to me.
- Breepee, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Lets look at it from the bright side: that means there's about .003 happy Vista-users!
- zzz@tkz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Nostalgia?
- Petarded, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6You forget how usefull the scroll wheel is, until you can't use it.
- spinchange, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Mac Write is in German
- scabbers, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Dugg for the Asteroids game in there.
- blacklint, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3...if you had a color monitor, that is :)
(see ThomasOkken's comment) - RyeBrye, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The debug panel doesn't accept 68000 instructions! :(
For instance, typing in "sm 0 a9f4; g0" and hitting enter does nothing... A9F4 - as those of us who used the ResEdit disassembler to crack programs back in the day will tell you - is the instruction to quit the program and bring up the finder. That instruction is the "force quit" before "force quit" came around...
Still, cool that this exists. Man, those days sucked. - tybris, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Now this is when the 'wow' starts.
- schavira, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3They have After Dark in the extensions!
- WelshSage, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3it even shows how dreadfully slow Netscape was back then...
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2IE for mac is so bad it caused macs t crash before IE was even thought of? Wow
- ThomasOkken, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Color support appeared before 7 -- the first color Mac, the Mac II, shipped with 6.0 originally, if I remember correctly.
The Mac SE had a built-in 512x342 monochrome screen, though, and that is what WebSE seems to simulate. - sixlaneve, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2if you want it in your pc/mac, try vMac (google for it)
- RyeBrye, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You obviously aren't looking very hard:
http://www.mackido.com/History/EarlyMacOS.html - jonlee, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Notice the fast load until 90% then the crawl to the finish!
- LeeVal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1yeh, how are we suposed to play the games! i guess ill go play hover on Windows 95
- wooptoo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Mine "rebooted" after playing breakout, so it's accurate.
- eTronicGaming, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Wow... That was pretty cool.
- nonzer0, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This Flash simulation made me smile! For more smiles, try this Mac emulator http://basilisk.cebix.net/
- fr34k5h0w, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's not an *exact* replica of Mac OS 7, more of a merge between System 7 and OS X. Look at the menu bar. The application name was not a menu until Mac OS X iirc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_os_7
- blacklint, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1(doh, replied to wrong comment)
- coldfusion1970, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Not with System 7.
But we got it soon after. - vault, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Very impressive
- cottonslurpy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That brought me way back. Hearing all the oldschool OS sounds was worth the digg.
- Panda200x, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This is ***** old.
- gruz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Where's Dark Castle? =(
- elementfire, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2NSFW warning: Don't click IMAGES in Netscape.
- compgeek, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1that was pretty well done
- AwesomeAndy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1lol one butan
- toomuchgreentea, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's a "simulation" ... not "emulation". Wouldn't expect that to work in the first place.
- SpazticChips, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Netscape-> Click Images -> lolwtf pr0n
- encognito, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Makes me want to break out my old LC II.
- AwesomeAndy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I got a flying toasters screensaver for my iBook!
- kevinmotel, on 10/10/2007, -8/+8its so weird to be using OS 7 inside a browser running on a computer running OS X 10.4.10
- sergeydgr8, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0YES. VISTA, XP, and 2000 ARE THE BEST!!!
- sopaman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0How far we have come indeed...very cool... brings back loads of memories!
- retrofitme, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0The oldest OS I have is Sys4 off of a Star Wars Game. I once took system 4 and copied it to 20mb internal SCSI HD on my old mac plus. The whole system was only 300k or so. The machine literally booted faster than the screen could warm up (about 5 seconds)! Good times.
- Werrismys, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I use the similar gnome applet on my Linux. It makes it easier to find the mouse cursor IF something hides it. Plus it's cute.
- Zphilippos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0WOW!
nice work...
vista...hmm... for what??? -
