- hoborocks, on 10/12/2007, -2/+52Well, sometimes people misspell words. That's how spelling mistakes occur.

I changed the perspective and blew up the image to make all of the icons and pictures easily viewable. http://greaterstuff.com/google/perspectivefixed.jpg - Ironman11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32The Core 2 Duos are 64-bit, so my guess is that they'll show a new iMac with a screamin Intel Core 2 Duo.
- hotsoda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+29It's not a black MacBook Pro. There are no speakers on the side.
- JeffS, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30Wow, they're going to make some kind of hammer too. I can't wait.
- DrewBlood, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27I though they meant Reviled.
- Bioshocker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25"And a 64bit chip would advantage you how?"
64 bit chips give you
1) Vastly more addressable memory space, which is important for workstation applications that are running out of memory.
2) More CPU registers, which means that code compiled for 64 bit chips can keep more variables in its workspace, which means fewer load/store ops and therefore more efficient, faster code. - Greyarea, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23@matthewdrayton: 64bit gives you vastly more addressable memory.
- ninjakin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18so the nano can be used as a joystick in games?
- JayClark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the symbol in the upper left the "Universal Application" symbol?
- Dolomite, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16LMAO! ever heard of JAVA?????????
- beta1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17I Dugg it so its easy to find the link when I comeback later, because the link is dead and there isnt a mirror.
- tuc11, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Thats the universal logo
- TheAbsintheHare, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14It says Intel and Core Duo.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17The "black MacBook" appears to have a backlit keyboard on that banner. Certainly not a MacBook.
- scottie924, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17If you look close, I think you can see Jesus. This banner has shown me Jesus' eyes.
- myheaditches, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13The hammer is the icon for xcode.
http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/xcode/ - mjar81, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17yup
anything about macs is awesome. - kenhigginson, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15Damn... doesn't it make you feel like an idiot when you criticize someone else's spelling, and then tack an extra "n" on the end of the word "ratio"?
Poor form, indeed. - wpholmes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Thats a sideways ipod nano in it's dock
- gloz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Is that an iBike on the floor under the word platform?
- marosnax, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14only the macbook pros are backlight (which has seemed to always be the case) and besides apple has seen how much we like are ipods in black and macbooks in black so it seems to fit.
- staticfish, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12From the resolution of the photo, you can't tell whether the laptop's keyboard is backlit or not. The white you can see on the macbook may just be the keys
- hyperpasta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Audio - Orange
Image - Blue
Video - Green
iirc - Sixxer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Isn't that OS X DVD a new design? Probably a Leopard preview kind of thing?
- baron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9http://www.apple.com/macbook/gallery/qtvrblack.html
rotate it so it looks like the one in the photo. The "backlighting" on the top and left in the photo is just a reflection because of the way the outer edge of the keyboard area curves.
@aOenEz: the nano looks like that when it is showing the album cover during a song - TheAbsintheHare, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11But the letters are white.
- aldenhg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Apple has Man Bear Pig?
- imatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9In case the imageshack link goes down:
http://i3.tinypic.com/23iwd9j.jpg - leftfield, on 10/12/2007, -9/+17Is the hammer the new Mac repair tool?
j/k!!! - Kazaki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Yes, it is the Universal Icon. I don't know why you're getting dugg down - crushing peoples dreams?
Edit: Wow, alot changes in two seconds. - embraceware, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9We need a duggreflection for that duggmirror site...
- imikedaman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10'Spelt' is an acceptable past tense of 'spell'. Look it up.
- chiller2002, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"From the resolution of the photo, you can't tell whether the laptop's keyboard is backlit or not. The white you can see on the macbook may just be the keys"
I think they might be talking about the border around the keyboard appears to have light shining through (top and left) which is exactly what the MacBook Pro looks like when the backlight turns on. But it could be just some artistic marketing with no implication of what is to come. I really don't think Apple is going to be giving away any secrets on a banner, just isn't like them!
PS ~ The 64-bit symbol is already on their Mac OSX website: http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/64bit/ - imikedaman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9You really can't take a joke I see. The first person even announced he was joking, and you didn't get it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9the iHammer with 4Gb of flash memory for listening to your favorite tunes while you work. Your boss will never know your listening to music!
- denjin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Nice, a large OS X disk, a Mac Pro, and then a MBP on the far right (I think). Those are the three largest items on the banner, so I hope it is indicative of something. :) The 64bit icon goes along with most of those too, I suppose.
- beta1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8ImageShack will be down faster then the original link. But at least I saw it.
- shooby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Well if they have pictures of all the new products, wouldn't that mean that we'll have merom-based MacBooks (sans pro) as well? See, we got a flurry of new developer tools, then the MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac, iPod Nano (most probably with more storage space), Mac Pro, the OSX Leopard disc, and some weird blue icon that looks like spotlight but isn't on the top left (I'm guessing a new feature in Leopard)
If there are merom-based MacBooks I'm psyched! - cwoolf34, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10actually no. there are none.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8xgrid icon...nothing new
- imatt, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11There's about three images mirrored in the comments now.
- hyperpasta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Yup, that appears to be the new OS X logo.
Me likey. - skribble, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Well, the only thing I learned from this is not to use lunarpages hosting services :).
There is really nothing in that banner that tells us something we don't already know. The interesting stuff is what's on the banners covered with black sheets, and given past WWDC's those will stay covered until after the Keynote on Monday.
BTW that hammer is the xCode icon, and the 64bit thing is the same thing they used for g5s. - gabeN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It appears as though there are 3 pannels to the far right of the picture that are still covered. Plenty of space to house pics of a new iPhone or redesigned iPod... (I can only hope)
Also, does anyone know what the little green circular icon right next to the unix icon is? At first I thought it was the sony-erichson symbol, but upon closer inspection it does not appear to be as such... - skyfex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Yeah. The Orange, Blue and Green spheres are Core Video, Core Audio and Core Image icons (don't remember the order)
- hyperpasta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7You didn't miss anything much. It was a long black banner that had text at the left side:
Welcome to WWDC'06
You chose the right platform.
Then it shows a mosaic of icons and Apple Products in different sizes, including the Power Mac, MacBook, and OS X Tiger features.
The only unannounced product/icon shown is Leopard, which finally has its own graphic; a black X on a black-on-black leopard-skin background. Yes, it's very black. - Ubermensch423, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13and how do you spell "spelt"?
