- SomeoneGNU, on 10/10/2007, -5/+34It's cool that there's an easy fix, but honestly if this was a Microsoft product people would wanting to crucify Bill Gates.
- mentol, on 10/10/2007, -8/+25I don't think it matters that it has an easy cure.
What matters more is that it's having problems :) - BossX, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10It's easy to get out of single user, just type "Exit"... oh wait... theres no ***** keyboard in single user mode
- ayeroxor, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11NUH UH!! IT'S PHOTOSHOPPED!!! IT'S ALL FAKE! THE iPHONE IS FLAWLESS!!
/sarcasm - mikm, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7To paraphrased George Carlin,
If a diabetic is hit by a truck, it's a normal death.
If a diabetic is hit by a sugar truck, it's an odd and tragic death.
If a diabetic is hit by an insulin truck, it's a coincidental and oddly poetic death.
If a diabetic is on his way to get some insulin and he gets hit by an insulin truck, then that's ironic. - manifestdata, on 10/10/2007, -4/+10I agree with you, the iPhone is just as ***** as Windows 98. I can't believe i actually agree with an apple fanboy on something.
- Slovenian6474, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10"The iPhone won't be able to start into graphic mode and will be stuck in a command line. Thankfully, restoring the iPhone apparently fixes this."
Ironically, that's the exact same way to fix the old BSOD problem in Windows 98. - echolalia, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4When did Gizmodo get so ugly?
- mikm, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4If you're at work, you should be careful of doing non-work anyways.
- Slovenian6474, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Actually I do understand the concept and I misuse it anyways.
- mikm, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4That is by far one of the most retarded reasons to dig an article ever. "I liked this article because it started with the word 'the' and 'the is my favorite word".
- mikm, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I don't think you understand this concept of "irony".
- directive0, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3You hating something popular makes you the coolest person on the internet!
- pierrefilms, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2But wouldn't it make more sense if Apple haters would praise what THEY like instead of constantly bashing Apple? It would seem like the logical thing to do. Unfortunately though, even after months of being up, the Microsoft section of Digg is only at 2 pages which means one of two things. A: Microsoft product owners cannot find enough good or interesting things to say about Microsoft or B: They prefer to bash and digg up anything Anti-Apple in order to feel better about what they own.
I'm just curious, since as a Mac user I much prefer to talk about things I like then go around bashing what I don't. If I like it, I digg it. If not, I ignore it and don't waste my time writing stupid "Haha! ___ sucks! My ___ is better!" comments.
Ah well. - enicholas, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2A newly-released product has an extremely uncommon bug, from which you can easily recover? How inexcusable!
Apple should get off their lazy asses and fix this bug NOW -- after all, MacParrot is extremely upset by it, despite the fact that he doesn't have an iPhone, has never seen this bug in person, and possibly hasn't even seen an iPhone in person. After all, it is known to have affected at least TWO phones, out of hundreds of thousands. How dare you, Apple! - Slovenian6474, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5I'm not an apple fanboy. My point was Apple products seem to be evolving into 9 year old Microsoft products.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Reminds me of having to restore a crashing ipod all the time, i wonder if even it has buttons presses to do a hard reset humm
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You should go read Maddox's article about the one thing that windows users can do that mac ones can't.
- Slovenian6474, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Mac fanboys praise every little thing about Apple products. That makes it kind of natural for Apple haters to bash everything little thing about Apple.
- drlha, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Apart from the part where it tells you a restore will fix it.
- mikm, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3And tell Apple you were hit by a car
- Lane, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5I haven't read the article yet but I'm taking a guess; sledgehammer?
- Vermifax, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I was distracted by the abundance of naked asses (mainly the female ones) on the left side of the page.
- pierrefilms, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I read that article, but it still doesn't explain why some people on Digg, like you, go around writing stupid comments and digging just about every anti/pro-Apple article that pops up.
- drlha, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yes, because everyone with an iPhone is having this problem right now.
- MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Hey! Can I play "Digg my submission too!"
http://digg.com/apple/Fear_of_an_iPhone_world
You twit. If your story is interesting enough to Mac haters or lovers it will make the front page on its own. Stop blasting this into every story. - MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Considering the cost of an iPhone, then yes, Apple should fix it. I have seen an iPhone and spent a little time with it. It is an amazing device (not $500-600 worth of amazing IMO, but cool nonetheless). A bug is a bug. If it's repeatable on multiple devices, then it deserves to be investigated and the flaw fixed as soon as humanly possible.
Just because I prefer a Mac doesn't blind me to the fact that even Apple (yes it's true) isn't perfect. - Rosco, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=iphone
- cdmarcus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Just get the ARM build of Ubuntu. Oh, wait...
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1You obviously have no idea how digg works.
- Skeuomorph, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3Maybe you haven't owned many WinCE phones. As a Microsoft product, it already had (and has) people wanting that.
- ayeroxor, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2"Actually I do understand the concept and I misuse it anyways."
How ironic! - broohaha, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2You got it wrong:
NUH UH!! IT'S PHOTOSHOPPED!!! IT'S ALL FAKE! THE iPHONE IS FLAWLESS!! /sincerity - ayeroxor, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1How ironic!
- TheKorn2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1The only problem with that article is that it documents the problem, but not the solution. (i.e. user is still FSCK'd when the video ends!)
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Great so they are par with windows 98 technology ?
- presdigous, on 10/28/2007, -0/+0CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO DO IT WITH WINDOWS....
lost isnt even the word..
I would really appreciate it - danielhaim1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0www.ctinyc.com
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0easy cure? WTF HARD RESETTING a phone is not an EASY cure, you LOST all your contacts, and you are completly screwed if you are not by your HOME computer.
rediculous - wookme, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0another buggy product from Apple but the media/mass will love it and learn how to live with it and make it into an icon.
- MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Apple should fix this right away. Considering how much people (though not I) paid for it, it's inexcusable.
- jenp, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0as long as gizmodo keeps reffering places like peekamo, its all good with me.
- Daneshmend, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2I like the comment "Run commanderkeen.exe"
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2lmao, I love Digg comments.
- lazyrussian, on 10/10/2007, -5/+4You mean you don't want to crucify Steve Jobs?
::starts bandwagon:: - Slovenian6474, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1From the author of Toothpaste For Dinner
http://wherearethedogshumping.com/five-hundred-bucks.jpg - panickedthumb, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0OK, every time I've tried to go to the site, the ads have all been pics of women's butts. I love butts as much as the next guy, but when did ads become NSFW?
Anyway, if you're at work, be careful opening this article. - JlmAWP, on 10/10/2007, -10/+7Oh come on guys, as if the iPhone hasn't already been picked apart, and every little issue/disadvantage makes it to the top stories.
You act like it only gets good publicity, when, especially on Digg, people are looking specifically to sink it. At least with Microsoft, it's a general hate. - NerveBand, on 10/10/2007, -5/+1Dugg for the guys name, Daft Punk. I love those guys and their music, incredible!
