- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -27/+291people that are taught not to say "sucks" usually grow up to "suck". furthermore no one gives a ***** about your girlfriend, just because her family "sucks" doesn't mean everyone else should be treated like children.
- SurrealDream, on 10/12/2007, -8/+234Censorship, like charity, should begin at home but, unlike charity, it should end there.

"Why is this Pedophile program still on the air???"
Maybe because this is America, I'm an adult, and I should be able to watch anything that I want, regardless of someone else's silly values and self-hating shame. - manova, on 10/12/2007, -5/+132"My girlfriend's family is christian and her brothers and sisters were taught not to say "sucks". "
Funny. I never knew that sucks was a bad word until I dated this girl in high school and one day said "well that sucks" at her house. Boy, you would have thought I had just called her mom a bitch by the reaction I got from her parents. Presbyterians...what can you say? - Fordi, on 10/12/2007, -19/+127Censorship is never ****ing necessary. Those ******* kids who are taught to watch their ****ing mouths eventually ****** well learn what curses mean. Why is it so ****** important to you that your ****ant kids don't learn curse words anyway? I mean, what are you, a **** faced fascist ***tator wit* a **** issue and a ***** penis?
Ser******, at some po*nt, they're going t* start cens*ring concepts c*nsid*red "off*nsive", to t*e d*gre* that y*u can s*y "***** you, you cocksucking little bitch", but not, "**** * **** ***".
Ok, so I was wrong. Censorship is sometimes necessary for self-amusement. - SteelFrog, on 10/12/2007, -13/+120Damn, that *****' sucks.
- kronix2, on 10/12/2007, -11/+96"The show advocated homosexual sex between eight year olds. Why is this Pedophile program still on the air"
Anybody who equates homosexuality with paedophilia is beyond the influence of reason. Learn the difference between children having sex with each other and paedophilia.
After reading your subsequent posts, I'll fill you in on something: nobody gives a damn about what you have to say. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+83"Hey there goes that ***** guy."
- sleepwalkers, on 10/12/2007, -3/+63@Cornswalled: Here's a wild suggestion: Watch the show. Okay, now watch it again and think of it as a satire. If you were smart enough, you'd realize that - once you're past the "shocking images" - the show is a scathing satire. Like the "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset" episode. What do you see when you watch that episode? A show that promotes the terrible pop culture of being slutty, with shocking imagery such as Paris Hilton's pet dog committing suicide, and Paris Hilton shoving a pineapple up her vagina. However, the rest of us see a satire on pop culture, condemning the people who think that being a whore is some sort of sick, twisted popularity contest and the general lack of respect for material goods and morals that today's youth seems to have.
The ironic part of the entire premise of the show is that it tackles adult topics in a child-like manner, using youth as the figures of reason and the adults the figures of the general stupidity, and using child-like animation in a show that (at least now, in the later episodes) almost entirely deals in serious, timely topics about society. - usefulidiot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+54meanwhile on the previous episode the n bomb was dropped a whopping 40 times. censorship s***s.
- P373Y, on 10/12/2007, -9/+60disable itunes if you care that much about your kids
- MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+50corny,
I have discovered an excellent way to censor offensive programs without blatently stepping on 1st amendment rights of free speech. It's called a "remote control". With this simple device I can turn off the TV, I can change the channel away from programs I don't like, AND stop my children from watching material that I don't want them to watch. You should look into, I hear they're not too expensive. - Geckomind, on 10/12/2007, -5/+52Haha... The morons. This whole bleeping out on US TV is hilarious from a european perspective anyway, but that just makes my day!
- Angelowner, on 10/12/2007, -5/+49Honestly, Pun or no pun, The title is funnier censored
- tsunamisteve, on 10/12/2007, -3/+44When you click "Buy" and the "Downloads" pane opens up, it says "Cartman Sucks", no censorship. Apple is just covering their asses because we all know how crazy some parents are.
- Niloc, on 10/12/2007, -4/+44Step one, instead of ass say buns,
like kiss my buns, or your a bunshole!
Step two, instead of ***** say poo,
as in cold poo,poo head, and this poo is cold.
Step three, with bitch drop the t,
because bich is the latin word for generosityyyyyyy.
Step four, don't say ***** anymore,
'cause ***** is the worst word that you can say,
so just use the word mmm k! - brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -6/+43Have you not had sex with your girlfriend because you're afraid her pussy troll is going to cut your penis off?
- thefurryone, on 10/12/2007, -3/+40It's not the first time iTunes has done this. In 2003 I noticed that the band name "*****" was not starred out, but that famed actor Dick Van D**e was.
- adragons, on 10/12/2007, -3/+37Censorship always takes precedence over freedom of speech. Its when people start trying to ban words that I get angry.
- inkhead, on 10/12/2007, -11/+43Just for the record, this has NOTHING to do with Apple. Apple requires the label or studio submitting it to post the input the title, with the special iTunes uploader app. There are rules to follow, and you are required to put in the proper rating label, for example if your music has explicit lyrics and you don't check that option when submitting it to Apple, Apple reserves the right to kick you out of itunes if you do it on purpose, or aren't careful. I don't think Apple has ever told any label or Indy label they'd get kicked off, but Apple does review each submission carefully before it posts it into the store.
The title has nothing to do with Apple's censors, that is the official title of the episode, check a DVR on TV ;-)
It's the title of the episode, not a censor issue. - tdowling, on 10/12/2007, -3/+33I'm surprised they didn't get his first name too. Ah, the classic and family-friendly "D**k van D**e Show"...
- _skin_, on 10/12/2007, -3/+32I thought for sure that it was Cartman *****... And I already had heard about the episode and did not understand where ***** came into play.
- AndrewJC, on 10/12/2007, -5/+32@cornswalled:
'So now, in the name of "Freedom" you consider it "OK" to promote kiddie porn. I wonder what the FBI would find hidden on your computer?'
Um... What children were involved? Last I checked, the show was produced by two 30-something adult males. Not to mention the fact that it's, y'know, a cartoon and therefore NOT REAL. - audiowizard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26I wish people wouldn't refer to me as a digger. It sounds so stupid and racist.
- mjhamilton, on 10/12/2007, -11/+34Your girlfriend mostly sucks my balls... mostly.
- MrIso, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24uh... my tivo clearly says "Cartman Sucks"
- dmonkey1001, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24"My girlfriend's family is christian and her brothers and sisters were taught not to say "sucks"."
My girlfriend's family uses Microsoft, and they were taught not to say "iTunes."
Seriously... how can you possibly justify censorship just because your girlfriend's family is offended by the word "sucks?" Do you really not understanding that if you remove anything that offends someone there will be nothing left? If that's the new status quo, then let me be the first to say that people who push their beliefs on others offend me. - ChumpChief, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Only acceptable in the colloquial "digga," as in "Digga please!"
- AndrewJC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21And even then, only Diggas can use the name. Non-diggas who use the word are asking to be shot.
- smojo12, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22I'm amazed every time I see people bringing up religion and "bad words". I don't remember reading any scriptures or anywhere in the bible that says Thou shall not say suck.
Has anyone done any research on the origins of certain words and when it became offensive to the religious community? I would love to read up on that subject. - dralezero, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Yea, instead of S***s it looks like it could be S***s.
- bwhite, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23Hahaha ... You said D**e.
- PaperMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20Very simple solution to this whole problem. Parents... Now this is important, try to stay with me here... the TV is _NOT_ (nor has it ever been) a baby sitter. Take two seconds to figure out what the hell your kids are watching and be proactive about it. Make sure they aren't watching things that are age inappropriate. Have a discussion about TV and advertising with them so that they don't get sucked in by the ad culture. More importantly, do something about it. There is a SAP channel broadcast on almost every station. Some are no different than the main broadcast, some are in a different language and some (well in Canada anyway) end up with crazy radio stations on them. Contact the FCC (CRTC in Canada) and the local stations and your your representative in government and ask them why they haven't considered censored audio as an option for the SAP broadcast. There are regulations about what they can show or say at different times of the day so why not take the logical extension. In Canada there are a few channels you can get over an antenna but by and large you have to get a cable subscription. Why am I paying for a service and then not given the option to view things as I want to....? Remember the 'V-Chip'? This is a logical extension of that idea and between the government and the cable/content providers they could easily give the people the choice of censored or uncensored....
(/rant) hrm.. crap... where should I stick this soap box now.....? - t0ken, on 10/12/2007, -5/+22But then I can't force my morals on to others!
- ray901, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19In my family we were taught not to say t*e following words:
the
sky
onomatopoeia
red
squiggle
Children have access to tv, newspapers, books and t*e internet. These should rigorously censored as they should adhere to my wishes that no-one sees or uses these evil words. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18@cornswalled
If you dont like it, dont watch it.
*****. - Yankees368, on 10/12/2007, -6/+21This is correct. The episode has been listen as having the title everywhere, not just on itunes. So unless the entire world has began censoring the word SUCKS...itunes is not at fault here.
- pgudge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13dugg for video in article, very funny.
- animewars, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Why are we upset? They clearly don't want the plague to kill us all, and summon a monster dragon.
Apple has our best interests in mind. - ChumpChief, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12So if an unl***y d*** swimming in the m*** gets hit with a hockey p*** he'll be st*** making a r***us until a tr*** f***s him up?
- dmonkey1001, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11@jphaas
I'm guessing you didn't actually watch the episode? Either that or clearly you have never actually had a blowjob. - BlinderBomber, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11 It's your prerogative to watch South Park or not, but don't ruin the best political and culture satire on TV for those of us who are mature enough to understand the issues they are ridiculing.
- aaarrrgh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Socks? I would totally like a pair of Cartman socks!
- WiZZLa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9inkhead : "The title has nothing to do with Apple's censors, that is the official title of the episode, check a DVR on TV"
Yankees368 : "The episode has been listen as having the title everywhere"
Incorrect as it's listed as "Cartman Sucks" on national & local TV channel listings, as well as sites like Comedy Central, tv.com, imdb, ign, wikipedia, tvsquad, yahoo, tvrage, etc. - kurtwinter, on 10/12/2007, -7/+15***** your girlfriend's family's idiotic beliefs. Society should not bend to the whims of the most easily offended. If we did, and we followed your example, it would be the Taliban.
So here is some things that will keep your girlfriend off Digg forever:
*****, ***** ***** *****. ***** cocksucking douchebag wanking Jesus H Christ on a pogo stick ***** five thousand whores in the *****.
There, you see, words can't hurt - but stupid censorship to protect the childlike naive ***** who walk among us pisses me off. So ***** you and your bitchy girlfriend and her whole ***** family. I hope they all DIAF. - tcquad, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10@jonsilva
If I had to hazard a guess, I would say the drug reference in the title. - dhVyse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8CENSORSHIP SUCKS.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8"Yeah Moe, that team sure did suck last night. They were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked. Oops, gotta go, my stupid weinter kids are listening"
- fishpen0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I got suspended for saying the word dumbass. I didn't even know it was a swear. Funny because our school rule book says that swearing is a 3 day suspension but theft and vandalizing is a detention.
- jonsilva, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11Apple does indeed censor stuff. We just had a release containing persian vocals (that do NOT contain the word "djihad" or any directions on how to build a bomb or similar). Just one remix is named "Jussi ate too much Acid remix". That release got an explicit rating and nobody knows why. We're still waiting for a statement from Apple, btw.
